Hello I saw your video of Peniche and Ilha das Berlengas and I loved it, I'm Portuguese and I live in Lourinhã, if you like beaches try to know Praia da Areia Branca and Areal. The west coast is very beautiful and has beautiful beaches. Just after Lourinhã are Torres Vedras, Santa Rita and Santa Cruz beaches. Further south of Torres Vedras and also very well known is Ericeira with its beautiful beaches. It should be noted that along our coast you can find campsites and caravan parks and almost always find people from other countries such as Spain, France, Germany among others. If you are looking for houses in the west side, there are some old ones that are not very expensive but need to be restored. I hope you enjoyed the tips and that you enjoy them to the fullest. Best regards
One of the best meals I ever had in my life was fresh caught sardines, grilled with rock salt, and a fresh salad with olives, and a delicious glass of wine… on a boat off the coast of Albufeira. Chef’s kiss!
I agree! I’m waiting for them to make their way to torreira near avairo. Great festival coming up “sao paio” until then I’ll be watching and waiting lol
Wow! You reached 100k! You guys absolutely deserve it. I honestly always felt like you were underappreciated& underpromoted by ytube. It felt like id found treasure when i found your channel about 4 years ago!
Thank you for your sweet words and tuning into our channel for many years 😍 we looking forward to continuing to share our treasure trove of adventures with you.
It is amazing how a short distance can make such a huge difference in temperatures. Peniche is only a 20 minute drive from our vacation villa and it's a much cooler place to enjoy during heatwaves. Only I still think and believe that you are both better suited for the Algarve area. Especially with your love of water and warm weather. So as long as your budget can afford it...I would strongly suggest you focus your search for a home there. Maybe even switching the idea of land to an amazing villa with ample and good parking. Becoming tour guides and sharing hidden and must see gems doesn't require land, just easy access to the locations. Plus you still get to be incredible adventure hosts. :) Good luck with your search and congratulations on reaching your 100 k milestone.
Thanks for sharing you thoughts around this. We feel strongly towards the Algrave and exactly as you say. We look forward to sharing our upcoming episodes that speak about this. Thanks for the kind words towards our milestone 🤗✨🙏
4:47 - What causes the big waves in Nazaré is an underwater canyon that only affects Nazaré's north shore (the Praia do Norte), it has no effect on Peniche or on any other beach between Peniche and Nazaré (Nazaré beach included). The rugged sea at Peniche is just typical of the portuguese coast north of Cabo da Roca. 🙂
The museum in the fort at the point in Nazare has a wonderful museum devoted to the education of this trench that generates the biggest waves in the world. 💚 Cabo de Rocha is a fav or ours too.
I remember going to Berlengas over 25 years ago as a teenager camping there for a few days. The trip going there was very choppy, fortunately the trip back was very smooth. Lifetime of memories there in my happy place
Happy belated Bee Earth Day in my ‘Happy’ place! I was in Portugal in 2019 and have been trying to figure out how to live there ever since! Finding your channel has given me so much Joy and Hope… Cheers to your future and finding your special place!!!
Happy Belated Drew. Brittany, did you live in Brazil? I've noticed your Portuguese is not European. Naturally, you will sort it out eventually :) It's great you know a lot of the words. Saudades is pronounced 'sew-dad-esh'. I lived 5 minutes from Peniche, in the winter. Unlike Brittany who is from Florida and might find it chilly in the winter, I'm from Canada and so for me it was practically balmy in December, January and February... no -35C in Portugal!! I love the Silver Coast and this area is exactly where I intend to settle. It's lovely and the rugged coastline, warm people and culture is very special. Funny thing though, about camping on Berlengas... a friend (who is from the area and lives in Ferrel) just went camping on Berlengas. Maybe it's open in August only for camping. How fun you made it during the festas. The sopa vegetal is delicious!! I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves!! The sunsets from Baleal and Peniche are magical!! Obrigada pelo lindo vídeo!!
I have been fortunate enough to spend a lot of time in the Algarve region over the last 20yrs. It is beautiful and it seems like it ticks your most impt boxes. Good luck with your search. Many congrats on reaching the 100k milestone.
Thanks for taking us along to a beautiful coast there! Absolutely amazing sites on the Island. Now the Sardine Fest.....let's just say I could have gone without the view of Drew chomping down on one! LOL But I got some laughter out of it! Glad you took time off of the search to just LIVE and be with the earth, and maybe some crowds to boot. Great video just the same!
Good Morning Happy Funday Sunday. Happy Belated Birthday 🎉 🎈🎂. Thank you for sharing your adventures. It is great to see how other people do festivals. Can’t wait to see your house when you find it that place is so magical Have a blessed weekend and enjoy. 😊😊
I really enjoyed this episode! My great grandfather is from Portugal...he was born on one of the islands, that I can't remember the name of now, but I can imagine that his early life must have been similar vibes to today's excursions...maybe less touristy but probably similar festivals. Really unique look into local, and touristy, life on the coast of Portugal. Loved it!! For what it's worth, I see you both settling in a location where you can easily escape to the sea, if not on the sea itself. It's where you both light up the most.
what a joy of Video, a Portuguese watching you from a distance (internet), every video, every moment documented, your spot is waiting and you are near and near to it to be found...hopefully!!
Yea, 100K subs, onward to 200K! Wow, Brittany & Drew, such beauty! Paradise and more! This video is chucked full of beauty! Spectacular views! Thanks for sharing Portugal's breathtaking landscapes! Cheers!
Hopefully you had a chance to check out Ferrel for their festival between Aug 5-13, about 5 minutes away from Peniche. One of the biggest outdoor festivals on the silver coast. Must have truly been extraordinary after no festivals for 2 years.
It was so exciting to see you in Peniche a mere 15 minutes away from where we lived in Praia de Areia Branca our small village. There is a wonderful restaurant there on the beach serving some of the best fish chowder and cuttle fish. I went right along with you to the familiar spots. I often found in Portugal that I split my food with my husband because of the generous portions. Thank you for bringing some of that back for me. I continue to watch your journey with good feels and smiles. Stay well.
Saudade - "saudad", in portuguese we don't say the E at the end of the words (saudadji is brazilian portuguese) .The sound of the letter D in Portuguese is De, if you say the E saudade becomes saudadee.
Britt you looked so pretty in your purple skirt💜💜 That Pirate Island was so picturesque.Yeah to camp there would be great. Saudade yes in Brazil they use that word as a deep yearning or longing.. they say when you leave Brazil you will always experience Saudade...and they were right💛 The kindest people there, I still remember the sea of various shades of brown smiling faces with the biggest hearts I have experienced on earth 🌎
I love watching videos of places that I have been to in the past. I absolutely miss the festival in Peniche during the first weekend of August growing up spending my summers in Baleal.
Love the idea of the word saudage, such a lovely concept. My daughter got it tattooed after her year long rotary exchange to Brazil. We visited her there and next on our list is Portugal.
Looks like you had an awesome day. Kind of a zoo....but cool anyhow. Am anxious to see your property hunts. Did you happen to see "The Newby's" house and land that they have been fixing up in Amarante...northern part of Portugal. Such a beautiful place. Currently in England soon to have their second baby near a hosital in an english speaking place. They were so sad to leave their paradise, even temporarily.
The seagulls used to be plentiful like that here in San Diego when I was kid in the 70's and teenager in 80's. Something happened after I got married and moved away for a while. By the time I came back, they were just gone... All the pigeons we used to have disappeared too. I used to see them as a nuisance, now I really miss them.
Congratulations on 100000 SUBS!!! So happy for you guys. I found your channel at the start of covid and it has been a great few years. Your shows "Grand Canyon covid opening" and "Mount Olympus" are the best adventure videos on youtube. Congratulations to both of you. Thank you for your shows.
Yea! You found Sopa do Dia! Yea! I went grocery shopping yesterday and I'm making Caldo Verde for myself tonight because I was thinking of you guys! YEA! 😀
I lived in Peniche for three years. Still miss it 😢… One tip if you ever look for property in the area… between Peniche and Óbidos is very very humid in the winter. It frequently gets foggy. So foggy you can’t see two meters ahead .
I was going to say those are huge sardines! Enjoy! Glad you’re enjoying cooler temps! Nice romantic interlude and beach getaway from your land search. Good Luck!
Happy belated Birthday Drew and Congratulations on 100K subscribers to Mr and Mrs Advantures ! Cheers, and what a great video. As always thanks for taking us along !!🥰🥰🥰🥰
A really lovely, gentle and informative visit to a beautiful little island. Great video as usual. Looking forward to the next one too. Take Care, Hugs UK.
I somehow got behind and caught up by watching six of your Portugal videos in the last two days. It’s a great binge, btw. Love your adventures. I know some of the properties weren’t the best, but you have to keep looking to find the one you truly love. And this video of you both on the beach and enjoying the town was so good. The scenery was great to watch. And to see you both so in love is great as well. Best of luck in the search and I hope not to fall so behind in the future!
That was such a sweet episode. Thanks for the trip to the island and the sardine festival. Portugal has so many distinct regions.Anyway hope you find your place there.
Another great catch of the day. Smiled at schools of little paper fish overhead hanging from nets spanning street. They looked real wigglin in the breeze. 🐟 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟
Beautiful scenery where you are. Love the color of the water at the beach. People seem friendly. Good that you gave yourself a break from the house-hunting for a spell and just enjoyed where you were. Take care and see you next time.
What an absolutely magical day. I loved the fort and the beach and oh my goodness the food. Thank you so much for taking us here. Although I am getting to see a lot of the United States I don’t know if I will ever get to travel other countries? So again, thanks - this place is indeed beautiful. 😎🚐🥾
I know Portugal since more than 20years, and bought an old house in Peniche (2005) where I spend so much time each year, coming from Paris! nice to see ''my town'' on yr video, but seems to be too crowded, must have been in august , the best season for sardines too ;) anyway I enjoy the most off season when I mostly live with the locals! winter is another experience too, but the wood in the stove is a must
Enjoyed every minute of this video! Just like all the others, you both have that natural ability to entertain in front and no doubt off the camera! So happy to journey with you both! ❤ ❤ ❤
congratulations on your milestone! So that you know that festival was in honour of Nossa Senhora da Boa Viagem (Our Lady of Good Voyage), patron saint of many portuguese fisherman towns and villages. In Peniche there is usually a religious procession at night by boat out in the sea. Like most festivities in Portugal during the summer people like to come out and grill and eat sardines 😊 - love the smell and the taste, hate to eat them. There is also a separate sardine festival but it’s a few week before and it’s more like a gastronomic event around sardines.
Woohoo, Congratulations on the 100k🎉 You're right Britney, fun, fun day; well deserved from all the property looking...It can get exhausting. Great episode. ♥️
Thank you to everyone who has helped us reach 100k subscribers! 💛 Special little blip in next week’s episode 🤗 We love you!!
So happy for both of you 💕
Congrats! Every week I was like omggg they are so close!!! so it's great to finally see you reach this milestone. Well deserved!

@Beautiful Things Are Love and Dreams yes, I know…. I was just reminiscing about the delicious sardines the Portuguese are known for,
Yum!
That water! Wow on the noise level of the festival. That sounded way louder than the ones we stumbled across in Mexico 🤣 your face - perfection.
😂
This was great. You guys should just do a whole series on visiting remote / local / off-the-beaten-path festivals and celebrations throughout Europe
I agree! I’m waiting for them to make their way to torreira near avairo. Great festival coming up “sao paio” until then I’ll be watching and waiting lol
That sunset shot😍
