🤷🏾♂️ Good question, but I don't think that I have the correct answer for you. My thought would be that Ford decided that they could save some money by switching from the four hole to the three hole pulley design. (Smaller flange, one less bolt, and one less hole to drill in the pulley)

I paid $150 for that tool from the Mac Tools truck and saw the same tool for sale $100 cheaper at Advance Auto Parts.
