  • In this episode we are showing some more examples of how each repossession assignment is different. We just never know how they are going to unfold or ultimately end up.

LOL...you saying the Denali was avoiding repo for a long time took me back....now remember this was the 80's so we didn't have all the fun tech tools...took a lot more sleuthing to find these things. So this guy had bought a former utility company truck, 4x4 Chevy 3500 with the tool boxes and racks and all. Made a couple of payments, then disappeared off the face of the earth. When things were a little slow I'd break out some of these hard cases and shake the trees and see what falls out. Most of his contact info was dead ends, but I was able to verify his parents. So I called one day and talked to his mom, just told her I went to high school with him and had wondered how he was. Poor lady, I even had her thinking she remembered me from back then. She was a chatterbox, told me he was working out of state for a big government project (DoD) and he expected to be there at least a couple of years. Well from time to time I'd call and ask her if she'd heard from him, always nothing new, until one day in November she called ME, and told me he was coming to town for one night to have Thanksgiving dinner with them, and I could stop by if I wanted to. She told me what time, and me and my partner rolled over there, truck was parked in front of the house, and being an older Chevy and not even locked, I hopped in and had it running in about a minute flat. We took it to the bank that wanted it, disabled it, and started to write up the inventory of personal items of value, which was extensive, all his power tools and generator and compressor, etc. He showed up on the lot while we were doing this, and loaded all his stuff into his dad's truck. He was actually very conciliatory about it, congratulated me on playing it so well. LOL...he said he had been working 12-15 hours a day non-stop the whole time and let the payments get away from him, just too busy and tired to mess with financial stuff I guess. He told us he actually intended to get right with the bank the next day while in town, but didn't figure on it getting snatched within hours of showing up. He not only got current with the bank but they said he gave them a payoff on it, so I guess he wasn't kidding about making good $ and just letting it slide.

I grew up like my daddy did My grandpa cleared this land When I was five I walked the fence while grandpa held my hand Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow This land fed a nation
This land made me proud And son I'm just sorry there's no legacy for you now
Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
The crops we grew last summer weren't enough to pay the loans Couldn't buy the seed to plant this spring and the Farmers Bank foreclosed Called my old friend Schepman up to auction off the land
He said John it's just my job and I hope you understand Hey calling it your job ol' hoss sure don't make it right But if you want me to I'll say a prayer for your soul tonight And grandma's on the front porch swing with a Bible in her hand Sometimes I hear her singing "Take me to the Promised Land" When you take away a man's dignity he can't Work his fields and cows There'll be blood on the scarecrow Blood on the plow Blood on the scarecrow Blood on the plow Well there's ninety-seven crosses planted in the courthouse yard Ninety-seven families who lost ninety-seven farms I think about my grandpa and my neighbors and my name And some nights I feel like dyin' Like that scarecrow in the rain
Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow This land fed a nation This land made me proud
And son I'm just sorry they're just memories for you now Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow

well I say this, because of a good friends experience relating to his "new car" that in 3 days basically forced him into personal bankruptcy. So it goes like this, he was 20, and got a good deal on a green Ford Falcon, on a loan that he could afford at the time (he was working), it takes a little while to get your main insurance sorted out in this country (you pay a yearly "registration that includes a personal injury insurance, so the people involved, but not the vehicles, which is separate) so the car was "legal" (aka registered), but he hadn't gotten the other insurance sorted. So I am not sure how it happened exactly, but on one end of a bridge on the way to work he ended up slamming into someone else coming the other way, totalling both cars, putting himself in the river, so hospital for everyone, and him about 2 weeks. when he wakes up he finds out he has now, no vehicle, (he traded his old vehicle in to get this one) no vehicle to get to work (so looses the job, has to collect unemployment while he heals from broken leg and shoulder) and owes these other peoples insurance company a whole lot of money he now doesn't have.. . so after some thought me and a friend suggested the put himself into personal bankruptcy (which lasts 3 years, he had no assets to loose, and it wouldn't interfere with his type of employment, and he would have to earn a fairly large amount to pay any money back, could even own a cheapo car worth under so much, I think then it was 2500 .. (I think now its 7500) . so just like that he went full broke , injured (took about 6 months to heal up ) and unemployed..

That is a 6cyl Mustang with an aftermarket dual exhaust kit. If it was a factory GT, the rear bumper would have cutouts for the twin exhaust tips. It looks as though the owner also put the GT light package on the front. He tried hard to fool people, but it is still a measly 6 banger.

    • @waterwave1

Yeah, and if it was a GT it would have the 4.6, not the 5.0. The new Coyote motor is like two years old.

Actually by law you are not supposed to touch anything other then the vehicle your repoing. All the owner has to say is that you messed something up. The repo company and finance company can be sued which in the end they can get the vehicle back. I’ve been around repos for 28 years and no matter what anyone else says it is highly illegal to touch anything else other than what you you there to get.

With all the double headers and triples you seem to get, maybe it's time to get a trailer that can hold two vehicles, and that you can pull with the "ninja"!! Use flat ramps, rather than chanelled, so you can "push" the repo on using the "ninja" dually, then drop it on there, load another vehicle behind, and pull two home at once.

Yes, only V6s have the stripes on the bottom but he mistook it for a GT (V8)

Thanks for all this info on how sneaky you fellas are along with the finance parasites. Tracking devices, letting dogs meet you, searching around streets while a debtor is talking to the company. Man this is good solid info, thanks so much, now i'll know what to look for and what not to do when i default on my loan

What do you do if you have a repo with a trailer on it and it's locked to the trailer or if it's on a trailer

    • @rubenmarin3390
      @rubenmarin3390 8 лет назад

+majestic motors I imagine it isn't that hard to decouple a "locked" trailer with an impact wrench. But I have seen trucks being towed with a trailer attached, I can't imagine though a repo man would want to deal with the liability. That is what the GPS is for.

I actually edited out a lot of our conversation and I was admiring it and talking to him about it. You can see the 2 seconds where I run my hand across the front of the hood. Poor thing... sad to see for any car enthusiast.

Mustang had the 4.6 3 valve engine from 2005 until the release of the 2011 gt with the new coyote 5.0

Matt, what's the hissing sound we often hear (i.e. around 20:15)?

It's the compressor from my new airbag system bleeding off pressure to keep it at the preset PSI that I have it set to which is 80 psi.

an S197 (2005-2010) mustang GT does not have a 5.0 Engine. The last 5.0 which was actually a 4.9 came in the 1995 Mustang GT. From 1996-2010 Mustang GT came with either 4.6L 2 Valve Single Overhead Cam motor or the 4.6L 3 valve Single overhead Cam motor.
From 2011+ are True 5.0 engines and are 4 valve Dual Overhead Cam motors. Just fixing that so you'll know next time matt.

The Mustang you were looking at wasn't a 5.0. They still had the 4.6 until 2011.

What was it with that woman all interested in your work and stuff? Does that sort of thing happen often? Do people not know about the repo industry, so they have to ask about it?
