For ELR, a good bullet with good BC uniformity does alot more than “a little extra” for accuracy. Check out some of the doppler tests done Bryan Litz on this matter.
I had no idea that there were imperfections in plastic tip bullets , thanks for bringing this to our attention ! Have been hand loading for 46 years and have learned so much since finding your channel . Thanks for all your hard work and sharing it with us !……..
I've heard of way more people shooting Berger VLD or Sierra Match King bullets then something like a Hornady ELD-M and never knew why until now... Good stuff and great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
I've got a set of special long range tipped bullets from Alco. They are a precursor to the Hornady A-tip. They advertise as very high ballistic coefficient. They are impossible to load in a magazine because the tip is a long needle point. So sharp that if you aren't careful you will punctures your fingers reaching in to remove one from the box. They also have a rebated boattail. The 308 bullets are supposed to have a BC that is close to that of 6.5 Creedmore, rendering them nearly identical. Haven't had a chance to try them yet...
I’ve seen a few people who prefer the sierra tipped match king to the standard match king. They claim it’s more accurate for them. I find that hard to believe considering what you discussed in this video. In any case, thanks for making this video!
Could well be the case, this is just a small detail, many other features in a projectile to create consistencies and efficiencies, there are certainly quality Tipped bullets that are better than some lesser Jacketed bullets, as always all in the details, Cheers
I use the hornady Atip 250gr in my custom 300prc and I love it. I tried eld m and although they were very good , the atip was more consistent beyond a mile
Thank you for the video and your insight. I know different plastics melt at different temperatures but I didn't consider that on the tips of projectiles. Stay safe. Take care. Have fun. 😎
Right on guys thanks. Another way if phrasing the rotation speed of the rifle projectiles would be, slow end maybe 150 000 RPM? Fast end closer to 300 000.? On this video I like your thinking and your guys thought process. Currently into my second Litz read and recently enjoyed reading a few pages on a study of "uniforming and/or pointing" of open tip match bullets. It's all very Interesting information to be considered. Keep up the great work 🇨🇦
IMO it's a business, for sell his product, this Tubb tool has no real interest, in short range(BR), in mid and long range(F-class), and none in ELR, but it's my opinion (and of alot people also)
Informative, interesting and educational! Thanks for all you do Mark.
Thanks you Dave, Cheers
Doing all the background prep on the cases/charge weight uniformity is paramount, a good bullet just adds a little extra smile in the accuracy stakes.
Cheers

Great. Cheers both you
Thanks Walter
Do you have any videos hunting long range with the Alco bullets? Say 800 yds plus.
We don't have hunting videos

Thanks John
Mark that’s interesting I never thought about that thanks GOD BLESS
Thanks Randle, Cheers
Спасибо за пояснение👍👍👍🤝😉
Thanks again, cheers
what about weight / balance of a light front tip ? if it is even a factor
Not in a positive way, but really not a factor, Cheers
Guy's how is it down under? Love the 22 stuff.
We are good, Cheers
Hi Mark. Which bullet has the smallest wind drift by your opinion?
Speed and bc fight wind drift, so all in the details
What about the Tubb Ring bullets?
As Tubb say's, makes them a lower bc (less efficiency), but if done just right, can raise constancy, Cheers

I find the Acubond long-range 142gr 6.5 creedmoor works well for me to target shoot targets out to 1 mile and is devastating on game out to 500m
Cheers Joe
Curious. How many MOA do you dial with this 6.5 C to reach a mile?
I use a mil scope and on my hand loads 24mil gets me there
@@joe74ta1 82 MOA. Goodness. Nice work.
👍
