Buyer beware. DVLA shows the car as brown in colour and a ‘Rover 3500’. (not a 3500S). I’d be checking this is a 481 chassis numbered car and that it’s not a later car rung onto a 1972 logbook as happened frequently when tax exemption was held at the start of 1973. The interior wood is of the later type.
Lovely car and its definitely a 3500S as its the 4 speed manual box. Every panel is bolt on, even the roof, so outer panels are easy to buy and fit....its the chassis that you need to worry about. The wheels are very rare being factory options.....id get rid of the cone filters. The suffer from heat dissipation and wont do the car any favours.
I remember 50 years ago when at 14 i worked at weekends on a milk round. Bob the milkman would pick me up in his Rover P6 2000SC in the same colour. I always wanted a V8 even to today, but sadly I don’t have access to a garage to keep it from turning into a pile of rust during our winter months 😢
Dad had a series one 2000 in the 1970's. I had virtually the twin to this in the noughties. Have another ? Maybe, interestingly, this ones got the little mod used by the Metropolitan Police (two little "flaps") on the front valence, they supposedly assisted directional stability at speed. Personally, I hold the wheel just a bit tighter ?
Some hidden rot unfortunately around the rear door edges. Be very careful. They rot from inside the rear wings on these cars so a thorough check underneath with a magnet and inspection hammer is needed
Now that is very nice
What a beauty. Those colours are so early 1970s - just love it. And the throaty exhaust - that car has been smoking the finest cigars.

Manual so it's a rover 3500s
Sounds lovely Paul plus she is a manual happy days 😀 😊❤
If you know anything about your classics, you will know that the S denoted a manual. What is questionable is the fitment of SD1 alloys...
the look truly horrid
Proper Motor ❤
very quetsionable
Nice
A proper Rover!

Its far moreo.portant to see underneath an old car.
A ramp, a torch and a big screwdriver is all you need.
3500 is the best but I hate those wheels
Agreed, dreadful, surely not original wheels ? Much prefer Rostyle wheels !
Jensen Interceptor, alloy wheels look best on these, in my humble opinion 👍
Buyer beware
😂
Caveat Emptor……
very much so......
awful wheels
No carrier for the spare wheel on the back...........how strange
That was an optional extra. Not standard from factory.
