After Miss Americana, I think "Forever Winter" would be a great song to listen to as a mental health professional. I would love to hear your perspective/analysis on the narrator (Taylor) and protagonist.
I just think with the holidays coming, this particular topic suits more for prevention purposes. (Don't want to give the topic away in case she wants to do a blind reaction)
Happiness- I think you'll really like this song. It talks about how you can have happiness with someone and you can have happiness beyond the relationship. It also brings up the fact that most of us are never taught how to forgive and let go of a good person who still ends up hurting you. so often it's easy to MoveOn when you're filled with anger because you felt like a bad person harmed you. It seems to be a lot harder to move on when a good person does something harmful and now you're supposed to figure out how to process all that.
The song "Mad Woman" is actually not about a romantic relationship, it's about the situation where Taylor's previous label decided to sell her masters to Scooter Braun without her knowledge and even though she offered a large sum of money to buy them, they did not agree whatsoever. There was a lot of back and forth but ultimately it came to no use. So she decided to re-record her previous albums, the ones she didn't own. Overall great video ! Would love to see your reaction to "Renegade" and "This is me trying" ♡
The interaction between you and people you know are all relationships. They just all vary in what type. They can be romantic or platonic or work or whatever. So yeah this actually was about our relationship just not a romantic one
@@ana_lynn_w2959 agreed 100 percent, I meant to say not about a "romantic relationship" thank you for correcting me. Also I'm not sure , and it isn't in my knowledge if Taylor and Scooter knew each other before the whole selling her life's work. So I apologize for assuming. Thank you!
@@arnilachowdhury6287 She actually did know Scooter beforehand because he passive aggressively bullied her. The song Afterglow is an INCREDIBLE example of finding balance and health in a relationship. She calls her self out for being the one who is in the wrong on some things and that she won’t end things for a little problem but wants to meet her person in the afterglow of a fight. It’s beautiful
She also has three other songs that really really talk about mental health 1. This Is Me Trying from Folklore 2. Nothing new from Red (Taylor's Version) (from the vault) 3 and lastly Forever Winter which is a song about her friend that sadly overdosed. This is also from Red TV from the vault. She is also featured (sings) a song called Renegade which talks about mental health from the point of someone on the outside that loves someone that is going through a lot.
You could react to "my tears ricochet" from folklore too and THEN "happiness" from evermore. They're inspired by the same situation that "mad woman" is also partially based on in my opinion. Also don't think it's a romantic relationship hehe
How is happiness about Scooter or Scott?? Happiness is a mix of The Great Gatsby (ex: beautiful fool, green light of forgiveness) and her best friend Abagail's divorce...? (7 years in heaven = how long Abagail was married to the photographer Matt)
@@michellerivera6244 I don't know all the details about Abigail's divorce and I prefer to not look into it (out of respect for her) but what I read in other outlets was that "tolerate it" was the song related to that situation. On the other hand, since the first time I listened "happiness", I felt like it was Taylor recalling her bad experience with Scott and how their relationship got so damaged because of it even when they have created many positives memories too. Like thoughts or expectations you could have when starting a healing journey. I hope you get what I mean.
@@C-Iris Taylor has said the inspiration for Tolerate It was from the book Rebecca, which she read in quarantine. Happiness has always been linked to Abigail’s divorce.
This is a great video, and I'm not detracting from the amazingness of it all. But I am very surprised that no one has mentioned that Mad Woman is not about a relationship. It doubles as social commentary and mentions Scooter Braun and how he "sit's on his throne with a palace of bones praying to his greed'. Still a great video and I agree with everything that was said. Great video! On a similar note is T Swizzle's song 'The Man', you should watch the music video if you want :)
That line is from "It's time to go" off evermore, and that is aimed more at Scott than Scooter imo but to both of them as well nonetheless I understand your sentiments. Whilst initially I thought Scooter, I feel this is far more about Kimye situation due to lines "It's obvious that you wanting me dead/ has really brought you two together" and the mad woman being Taylor.
@@clansome Thanks for correcting me! I can't believe I messed that up. My Spotify wrap would be embarassed. I too became a fan in a matter of two weeks after listening to Folklore and Evermore. I then watched Miss Americana and Folklore on Disney +. I highly recommend them as an introduction to Taylor by herself and not the overwhelming coverage of her by everyone else.

You can interpret a song in many ways, and I think that is by design. I take that a woman doesn't even have to act crazy to be thought of that way. "He made you that way" could be in his retelling or his perceptions. Like guys who will tell their new girlfriend that their old girlfriend was crazy. And the girl who stays with him will believe him and join in.
Please "This is me trying", this song is about people who are suffering from addiction or mental illness who have an everyday struggle. Besides fighting everyday, nobody gives them credit for it and their best isn't good enough.
I think it's really good that in this day and age people are finally realizing exactly what being a "mad woman" or making someone one really entails. I hear this song and I think immediately of not only Taylor but like Britney Spears and how her conservatorship lasted so long. How badly she was demonized for "going crazy" while they ignored what led up to it and instead of actually helping her they took away her autonomy for so long so that she could appear as a "good girl".
Renegade - would be good for your channel. It is technically a Big Red Machine song but it is a Taylor Swift song and she is singing it. One small issue; I know you had to blur the lyric video and soften the music for copyright/you tube issues, but that means when you start talking about a part of the song without saying the lyric out loud first means we have to get context on what part of the song you are up to by working backwards from your description rather than forwards from a point of understanding. Very taxing if you are not super familiar with the material.
Probably good to mention that on her last 2 albums Taylor doesn’t necessarily write from her own perspective. These albums are like a collection of essays on the human condition from all angles.
I'd love to see a reaction to The Archer from Lover. She sings about self image, insecurities, and owning her past mistakes. It's simple but deep! "I've been the archer / I've been the prey. Who could ever leave me, darling? But who could stay?" There's a lot there to unpack!
Spot on...but it’s about the world being gaslit to think Taylor is crazy, not just 1 relationship. The “Master of Spin” is Scooter Braun who’s wife came after Taylor publicly over Twitter about a business disagreement she shouldn’t have stuck her nose in, so she’s retaliating by throwing his infidelity at her publicly in a song! They’ve since separated
Can you like a hour long podcast of folklore and ever more and break it dwon like you do in your videos. Like especailly seven i would love to see a reaction to that
Talking about Taylor’s first use of the word/phrase ‘fuck you’ and conformity…she said something during her Fearless album tour that’s stuck with me nearly a decade later. ‘One of the bravest things you can do is be yourself, in a world that’s constantly trying to change you’. I don’t know if she came up with this or got it from somewhere else, but she’s always embodied that idea, for me ☺️
Just found your channel through your reaction of Miss Americana and I am obsessed!! Just watched the other TS reaction videos, and I recommend reacting to Sad Beautiful Tragic as there are some parts that always leave me pondering and I would love to see your take on the meaning! Also would love to see your reaction on my favourite song Champagne Problems which I think is one of her best songs :)
I know others have already suggested Happiness, Tolerate It and Miss Americana documentary so I'm gonna go for the song "RENEGADE" by Big Red Machine featuring Taylor Swift. They co-wrote the song from the perspective of a person whose lover suffers from anxiety.
In following suit, wonder if you’d like her music video for “The Man”! Lots of references to toxic masculinity and misogyny. Love your videos and your reactions to Taylor’s work!! Love hearing your thoughts from a mental health perspective. Thank you!
These lyrics are about Taylor’s previous record label who sold her master recordings ( all her life work -her songs, her albums are ) to a man who had bullied her. She lost all her life work - she was so angry. And at the same time, this beautiful song talks about the double standards in our society. And when I listen to it I feel sad and proud to be a woman. This song is also empowering us girls and women of all ages.
If you want a happier counterpart/balance to the songs you've heard so far, I'd recommend "Daylight" from Lover. She talks about how she's grown and moved on from past relationships, and owning her past mistakes. She makes some lyrical contrasts that reference her past relationships/songs, like "I once believed love woild be burning red, but it's golden." (She talks a lot in Lover about her current LTR being a "golden" and lasting love, and its really lovely!) But it might be a nice contrast to listen to, even if it's not a reaction vid, bc she's come so far and it's so awesome to see where she is now! Btw it sounds like people have mentioned this, but both Folklore and Evermore are primarily based on fictional characters & scenarios. There's a fictional love triangle that runs through all of Folklore, so I always assumed Mad Woman was about that. But yeah I think those albums are more metaphorical than literal, if that helps! The whole Lover album is really good tho!
I think you'd find The Archer really interesting! It's from the album Lover, it's a really fascinating song reflecting on things like, patterns of self sabotage (in life and relationships), the way past toxic relationships can haunt your ability to trust in new relationships and the anxiety of allowing yourself to believe that a new partner is safe when your trauma makes you look for monsters in every shadow. another song you might find interesting is Dear John - written back when Taylor was 19, it's pretty clearly a young woman processing and realizing that a past relationship was emotionally abusive and like, retroactively fighting to undo the gaslighting and recognize his behaviour for what it was. really enjoyed this video, can't wait for more taylor content!
Miss Americana has a lot to explore from a psychological perspective. I’m not a professional but I’ve always been interested in personality types and such, and I find her fascinating…I think you’ll really enjoy it!
You should really watch the Miss Americana documentary! It shares a lot of personal and telling information about her and I would love to see your take on it!!
I love your insights on the idea of being “crazy” due to the discomfort of those around them. When I listen to this song, specifically the witch and bear metaphors, I always think of mob mentality. That not only is she being manipulated into believing she’s crazy because of her history (but smart enough to think “wtf?!”), the guy is also preying on everyone else’s perceived notions (including his wife’s) that she’s naturally at fault. Between her reputation with men, stereotypes, and the blame typically placed onto the mistress, the public was primed to believe the gaslighting without question. I think the shame she’s referring to could also be taken as: “What a shame there’s another victim to the mob mentality. ‘Mad/Crazy’ is a hard title to shake.”
You know, I personally always kept my responses to myself and please the other cause okay if I just do it then they will be happy. Well actually they take more until you become a shell and they can just use you. When you realise this the only way to get you back is to either leave or get mad. Push back and reject pleasing them. Say no and when they make out you're in a mood, just tell em to get fucked !!! I think anger can be controlled but not when the person you've spent 13 years with uses your kindness and then makes out like you're the selfish one. Aaaaaaaaagh
Taylor's interviews/speeches are amazing too, especially when she talks about how female artists are shamed for writing about their exes and love life while everyone lets the male artists get away with it. Her interviews are truly amazing and I think you should watch them too! here are my favs: ruclips.net/video/nDzhoofkRJI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/ZVpkFb9-fts/видео.html ruclips.net/video/CQacWbsLbS4/видео.html (Pretty long but I love how she talks about her album 'evermore') ruclips.net/video/TC1UnBDfrQA/видео.html this one is not a speech or interview but an amazing explanation about Taylor and her career ruclips.net/video/w2XtejIt4p8/видео.html Hope you enjoy!!! Happy New Year btw!!
It's hard when it come to select the song, so I recommend you to listen to 'FOLKLORE' and ' EVERMORE' Albums. :) And for the REACT maybe track #5 songs.
Another great suggestion would be only the young! Since it was released with miss Americana documentary it would be good to possibly do in the same video out right after
Please react to This Is Me Trying (especially with what she said in the Folklore Long Pond Sessions) it's such a good song in general but ESPECIALLY in terms of mental illness
The women like hunting witches too line is referencing the time when Kim Kardashian taped the phone call between Kanye and Taylor to try to discredit her. Then the line of good wives always know is referring to Kanye cheating on Kim. Nothing has been confirmed but slot of us Swifties believe these are the events she is referring to in those lines and it does make a lot of sense
I love you're going through a Taylor reaction phase right now, you should do "this is me trying". I would really appreciate if you could react to Halsey next!!!
Please react to evermore! (The song) The entire thing is a metaphor for a mental health journey, and I think it’s one of the most beautiful and important things Taylor has ever written. I would love to know your thoughts.
I think "happiness", "tolerate it", "my tears ricochet", "seven", "soon you'll get better", and "this is me trying" have naritives on which I'd be interested in seeing your opinion. :)

Aaaaaaaaagh
you are so smart
@Sadhana Vattikuti this is literally my fav song
You should react to the folklore long pond studio sessions. Taylor talks a lot about the background to the songs on folklore
Happiness by Taylor Swift
The Man would be a great one to do- it's along similar lines as Mad Woman and I'd be really interested in your take on the music video!
Taylor's interviews/speeches are amazing too, especially when she talks about how female artists are shamed for writing about their exes and love life while everyone lets the male artists get away with it. Her interviews are truly amazing and I think you should watch them too!
here are my favs:

this one is not a speech or interview but an amazing explanation about Taylor and her career ruclips.net/video/w2XtejIt4p8/видео.html
Hope you enjoy!!! Happy New Year btw!!
Miss Americana would be great. Coney Island is a heartbreaking song about a relationship ending without either person knowing where it went wrong
I think you’ll like exile, tolerate it, chapagne problems, peace, this is me trying, happiness from the latest folklore and evermore releases.
The series on netflix YOU. That has a lot mental health stuff to impact. I’d love to hear you react to that.
Happiness from Evermore.
I'd actually like to see your thoughts on Lover. More of a positive relationship spin.
You should totally react to tolerate it!! From. Therapist perspective it would be great
please do tolerate it, closure and my tears ricochet
Oh man, this is really interesting. I'd love to hear your thoughts on her song "Exile". So great for therapist talk!
Please React to Champange Problems
Definitely react to Miss Americana!!
It's hard when it come to select the song, so I recommend you to listen to 'FOLKLORE' and ' EVERMORE' Albums. :)
And for the REACT maybe track #5 songs.
React to The Last Great American Dynasty, it's another Taylor's brilliant song that is linked with her Rhode Island holiday house and it's past owner
Since nobody else has suggested it yet, I’d love a reaction to “illicit affairs” from folklore.
Taylor Swift speaks so much truth in her music and people just don't like it. Truth hurts.
Another great suggestion would be only the young! Since it was released with miss Americana documentary it would be good to possibly do in the same video out right after
Thank you for your reactions! yes please react to the miss americana documentary.
my volume during this video ⬆️⬇️⬆️⬇️⬆️⬇️⬆️⬇️⬆️⬇️
I knew it!!
Please react to This Is Me Trying (especially with what she said in the Folklore Long Pond Sessions) it's such a good song in general but ESPECIALLY in terms of mental illness
please listen to "its time to go" and "the lakes"
I think it would be really interesting to see a reaction to Nothing New!
This song wasn't about a significant other...it was actually about her long time friend/record label Scott Borchetta
Please react to "My Tears Ricochet" its really goodd
You should react to this is me trying, tolerate, and forever winter
Please react to evermore! (The song) The entire thing is a metaphor for a mental health journey, and I think it’s one of the most beautiful and important things Taylor has ever written. I would love to know your thoughts.
would you react more to her?
Miss Americana and the song happiness or closure
I think "happiness", "tolerate it", "my tears ricochet", "seven", "soon you'll get better", and "this is me trying" have naritives on which I'd be interested in seeing your opinion. :)
Please react to “Happiness” from Folklore’s sister album Evermore.
pleeeease react to this is me trying by taylor
"Level the fuck up"!!!!!!! My new mantra, and I love you, lol- subscribe!!!!! Please react to the 10 minute movie to "All To Well"-SDK
Thank you, I did react to that one 😊 Check it out on my channel and let me know what you think!
You should react to forever winter now
