I went to more Vanderbilt games than Vanderbilt students do...and I only went to one game a year every other year.
The biggest reason for the huge LSU crowd: Vanderbilt was allowing alcohol sales in the stadium. Their fans drank them dry by halftime. They spent the 20 minute halftime expediting as many trucks in as possible to replenish the supply.

Basically, everybody that goes to Vandy games, go to root for the other team especially if they’re a powerhouse like Bama, UF or UGA. Maybe when Jay Cutler was playing they had a decent following was but not for the most part😂

Tbh I think it’s cheating to use Vandy games in these highlights. Feels too easy and cheap. Could just show their whole season’s home games as it’s own video 😂
Also I’m just happy to see my Nebraska Huskers on a highlight video for a good reason and not Ohio State and Wisconsin draft prospect highlights.

I'm a UMD fan and I've seen it happen when we play Ohio State or Michigan. Felt like we were in Columbus/Ann Arbor.
Not even a Georgia fan but I don’t wanna ever hear anyone say “Georgia fans don’t travel” again.
It seems like UGA is the only SEC school willing to get that home and home smoke from anyone and I can see why, UGA fans be moving.

I am a Georgia Tech fan and I am surprised there wasn't a Georgia vs. GT game on this list. I have seen Georgia Tech vs. Georgia games on TV and it is around 75-80% Bulldog fans. I absolutely despise Georgia but their fans are very committed and I respect that.
I never knew just how good at traveling Nebraska fans were until I saw them take over a good 1/4 of Autzen Stadium. Every Husker fan I spoke with was super nice too. I hope we do another series with them.

The Big Ten and Sec have just the best fans. Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Nebraska etc.
To be fair, every SEC game at Vanderbilt is basically a stadium takeover by the other team

Was one of the few students at the cu Nebraska game that didn’t sell their season tickets to Nebraska fans just for one game and it was so hype storming the field with only like 100 of us😂😂😂😂
One of the funniest things I've ever seen. Nebraska acts like they're still one of the top programs in CFB and ends up getting memed by a poverty Colorado team. Hope they had a nice ride home

@@m00t53 Not sure why you think Nebraska acts like they are a top football program still. Most Nebraska fans have accepted mediocrity. Husker pride is strong, but it is waning. The thing about Nebraska is Football on Saturdays is all we really have here.

@@kamelkadri2843 Mexican fans takeover stadiums thousands of miles away in the World Cup, go look at the anthem vs Germany in Russia, it was deafening. However props to these fanbases, they certainly travel extremely well.

I was at that game (OSU fan here) and the Cal fans were surprised by how many of us came out there. They said it was larger than other stadium takeovers by Stanford and USC who are obviously much closer than the 2000 miles from Columbus to Berkeley.
They legit are one of the biggest schools in the country and have one of the largest fanbases in all of sports. There plenty of Bucks fans in San Diego where I currently live. Shoot, I’ve even seen Bucks fans in Ethiopia haha no cap!
I've witnessed two UGA fan takeovers: 1) the Mizzou campus in 2012, the week of our first SEC game, and 2) Wrigley Field the night before they played Notre Dame
It's hard to explain, but as a Georgia fan who's been to well over a hundred games in Sanford Stadium but never to a true road game, watching that Notre Dame game on TV was a weird experience.
BYU fans once filled up 3/4 of the TCU stadium in Fort Worth TX. At the Horn Frogs homecoming game no less. That was back before the turn of the Y2K in 1996 I believe.
It’s happened at all the MWC schools and BYU was hated for putting more fans in the seats in San Diego, Las Vegas, New Mexico etc Now the MW has fallen badly all but Boise, And Fresno averaging home attendance in the teens, they want BYU back playing in their bandboxes, Even Wyoming

I’m a HOMER (admittedly)....but I think it’s fair to say that the Sea of Red in Southbend was epic. I’m glad it put their fans on notice and got them to represent, properly, at Notre Dame again. They re-upped their dedication, and that’s what you’d hope if you really LOVE college 🏈...because ND should always be a legit part of the game.
Not a dogs fan but that Georgia team from few years ago was so fun to watch. That stretch from like 2016 to 2019 to close out the decade were such exciting years for the sport

Vandy should just rename their stadium "Guest Services" or something.
I still find it comical that Alabama rarely plays non conf road games yet somehow Duke managed to get them to come to there 35k capacity stadium.
Capacity was higher that day, Duke added bleachers in the endzone.
Northwester had to use a silent count every "home" game against Nebraska, GBR!
I love it! The College Football Stadium is Loudest Crowd U Can Feel The Energy Is Like Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks Home Stadiums.
That ND-Georgia game was in my freshman year, and I remember how humiliating it was seeing the ND arena just overtaken in red. If I recall correctly, the game after, they were really big on encouraging that all ND fans (or maybe just students) wore the same color.
I was there for the OSU/Cal game. It was >80% OSU fans. The entire city of Berkeley was a sea of scarlet clad fans that day.
The thing that makes Georgia taking over Notre Dames' stadium crazy is that ND team was decent. You'd think it'd be possible if the ND team was absolutely terrible, but nah they were ranked.
Same deal when Nebraska took over Notre Dame's stadium back in 2000 although Nebraska is arguably has the best college football fans in the country. Win or lose, they continue to sell-out their home stadium and bring huge followings to road games. No matter where the Cornhuskers play, there's a huge sea of red wherever they show up. It's pretty much the "pro" team in the state since they don't have any professional teams.
Just my 2 cents as a Washington Husky fan.
as a huge notre dame fan i think some even snuck in, stadium looked over capacity all game long. I think it was more like 50/50 on fans but the georgia red sticks out alot more in the crowd.
A lot of that had to do with just being in the building. I'd go to ND just to sit in that historic setting for 3 hours even if my team wasn't playing the Irish
Notre Dame is a tiny school compared to UGA
Notre Dame is weird. Everywhere they travel they bring a lot of fans, but there have been multiple games where they have had their own stadium full of opposing fans who want to visit Rock's House.
The disappointing thing is the attitude of the administration. After the Sea of Red against Nebraska a lot of people lost ticket buying privileges because you weren't allowed to scalp tickets. By the time of the UGA game they had a partnership with a third party ticket service. So they don't care if you sell your tickets for a bunch of money now as long as they get their cut.
Add to that the fact that the face value is up to $300 for big-name opponents. The last time they won it all, face value was, IIRC, $28, and NO ONE would sell out.
I never even realized uga had like 90% of the stadium, like I knew we took it over but that entire stadium was red 😂
Georgia undisputed best traveling fanbase in college football imo. UNC in basketball travels really well too.

Yeah, I’m a military veteran living in San Diego and I can’t tell you how many times teams would come in and takeover or match the number of fans at Qualcomm. That’s some of the reason why the owner left to LA. The first reason being the city wouldn’t pay for a new stadium
Huge lifelong Nebraska fan. It made me sad to see how good and exciting they were and that they were in the big 12. Now they are in the big 10 and if they go .500 that is considered very good for them
As an LSU fan it was crazy to see basically our whole upper deck on the east side was red when we played Georgia in 2018 I had never seen anything like that in Tiger Stadium. It was empty about mid way through the 4th quarter though lol.

When I was a kid my dad took me to an ohio state v. indiana game at indy. It may as well have been a home game for the buckeyes it was crazy insane. Everyone rushed the field and took down the goalposts lol. I'll never forget.

That Notre Dame vs. Nebraska game. Back in the day when the crowds were always crazy on almost every play. Crowds nowadays are only loud when they are "entertained." lol.
I can’t really find it anywhere, but my dad was at the Iowa Minnesota game, and he said iowa got a 15 yard penalty cause the crowd was too loud 😂
To my knowledge, the 1990 game you're talking about wasn't televised. But that was probably the most infamous moment at the Metrodome prior to the 2002 game.

As a Penn Stater, there have been many times where we've done this to opposing stadiums, especially Maryland and Rutgers.
I was at the OSU v Cal game. The stadium was 60% scarlet and gray. No team's fans travel in mass more than the Buckeyes.

I was at Notre dame @ Boston college in 2017. That game was pretty close to an even split in the stands
Bama at Vandy in 2017 is a good example of a takeover game. I live in Nashville, and I went to see that one.

Funny moment the Wednesday or Thursday before that ND vs. UGA game a lot of UGA fans attended a Cubs game at Wrigley and chanted UGA.

As a Ok St fan, I sat in the UGA section of the OSU-UGA game in Stillwater. Fantastic time, I remember at half they were congratulating a former Ok St player for something that I can remember and before announcing him they were saying all his accomplishments and all the UGA fans in unison said "All thing have is Barry Sanders" and the few OSU fans in that section along with me bust out laughing and the announce NFL HOFer Thurman Thomas. LOL Oh and UGA LOST

Having grown up in Nebraska one of the funniest things with Husker nation was taking over opposing stadiums. It’d usually be CU, K-State, KU, Mizzou, etc (even when those teams were good) and hell they’d take a good chunk of even Oklahoma’s stadium. Husker fans are loyal (to a fault).
I feel bad for Nebraska fans. They are going to start sounding like CU fans, stuck in the glory days. The tables have turned

There was this one game in 2019 when Maryland had planned a black out in a game against Penn State. Instead the stadium was filled with white as the Penn State fans had taken over the stadium!
Colorado had a "keep the red out" rule for that game. Nebraska took that and ran. That is probably what made so many husker fans show up
