Nice review mate much appreciate the kind words as always 🙏 it’s such a good bit of kit really well made and has all the extras , nice one Atb Col Outdoor Gear Essentials
Just received my Ultralight FS 75-85 from Outdoor Gear Essentials on Friday. Bit of a last minute rush (as usual with me) but Col at OGE was awesome to deal with. Used it for the first time over the weekend. It was -3C and this little stove boiled a 450ml Ti pot full of partly frozen water in under 10 minutes. Absolutely love this little thing.
Thank you for sharing. I ordered one the other day and I spoke to Colin. I now have mine with me and I'm taking it to the states this year to hike for a month in Virginia. Then hopefully going to Alaska. Regards, Dean
Looks like nice kit. I read a different comment about the fuel usage, but I only car camp with heavy gear so don’t know if that person has a good point.
What a fabulous little setup. Never had anything like that but very interested in that particular one. Would a Trangia burner fit inside? I guess it would okay. And an excellent review there too Dan. Nice. :)
@@xboil right there, thank you for taking the trouble to explain that. I couldn't work out the heights from the video. I'd like to try it out so may try out Dan's the next time we meet up. I'm planning a lightweight trip in a month or so. Cheers, Warren
Just bought mine and like it. The x+boil and the pot on top are very sturdy and don't fall over even if you "hit" it. Unfortunately the Trangia burner does not work with it, it is too high and the flames get killed.
I use a Trangia and am only really interested in the windshield which the German maker will send me directly, but what I want to know is … do you have a Trangia burner, and does it work with that windshield clip system?
I made one years ago out of a used Daisy pellet can and some leftover welders felt. I ended up making three different sizes just for fun. I use my favorite one with a Zen Camps triangle windscreen which also works for solid fuel and triangia type burners. I like products that work with more than one thing.
You can use meths or bio fuel. For these burners. Yes you carry it separate.. I've just got back from a trip and I did x2 egg and bacon muffins for breakfast on the stove. And used 1 full puck and a half.
G'day Dan, that is well designed alright. I'm guess'n a Firemaple Blade 2 wont fit inside, I'd love one where it did, so as to have the choice of burner on a given day. Anyway well reviewed mate, very compelling. Cheers Duke.
Here here to outdoor gear essentials, great guy. Looks a good bit of kit Dan
Cheers mate xx

Great to hear.
I've a lot of time for Col. He's a good guy. 👍
That looks like it would make a nice addition to my collection.
Simple but effective. What more could you want. Thanks Dan I bet we see you use that often. Bushyboy Oz.

Nice review there, Dan. It does look pretty smart. The puck is great, I like the idea of them pads.
Cheers mate.

No, a Trangia is too high for it. There's not enough distance between burner and pot.

Looks interesting, you know me and stoves 😂
How much was your storming Norman set?
@@CampLifeBushcraft I forget tbh between 30-50 squid I think. Maybe I should start knocking them out lol

I've seen someone else use it with a trangia burner.

What fuel do you use to keep the flame going and how long will it last, asking as I’ve always used gas. Does the fuel come separately? TIA.
You can use meths or bio fuel. For these burners.

What version is the one you tested in the video? Is it the standard one or the ultralight one?
Ultralight I believe.
Used it loads since. Still going strong 👍
How long do the graphite felts last on average before they need replacing?
Thanks!
Dean
I don't remember when I made this video but I'm still on the same graphite as when I bought it.
Awesome! Thank you!

Can you tell me what size that zebra lunchbox is? 😂
Funny facker ❤️

@@BurtonOutdoors scrolling through old missed comments x
Thats a lot of fuel per burn. 3x - 4x per day. You’d be going through a gallon in a week.
Are you cooking 50 times a day? 🤣🤦🏻♂️
Who is burning 4 times a day?
£42
Oh no
you don't get owt for nowt
