- We used frozen scallops to make this super easy and yummy chinese stir fry recipe. You can also use fresh scallops to make this dish, just remove the shells before using. Roland cooked scallops and asparagus previously in another video which can be found here: • How to Cook the Perfec... . The main difference between these two recipes is the addition of ginger juice in this current one. If you are a fan of ginger fragrance, we believe you will like this recipe :0). By the way, please remember to let your scallops thaw fully before cooking. Also pat the scallops dry otherwise you will start a splatter party when you pan fry them.
See the ingredient list below for your easy reference.
We would like to give special thanks to Shogun by La Gourmet for letting us try out their high quality non-stick pan in the video respectively. If you like to buy them, you can go to any of the major departmental stores in Singapore such as Isetan, Robinsons, Takashimaya, BHG, OG, Metro or Tangs. These two brands are also available in most major departmental stores in Malaysia.
Hope you can recreate this yummy dish in the comfort of your home. Thanks for dropping by our channel.

Thank you so much, Mike for using our recipe 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 we are so happy to know that you enjoyed this recipe. Yay!! 🤓🤓🤓
I tried this recipe today but I ran out of asparagus so I replaced it with brocolli. My family loved it especially the ginger oyster sauce! Thank you for sharing this recipe, Roland!
You’re most welcome. Glad that your family enjoyed it 🤓
Now, I'm enjoying watching tutorial videos like these, not for the purpose of re-creating the exact recipes but for taking note of the techniques or even 'secrets' revealed by great chefs, such as in this channel.
Thank you so much for watching our channel, Filipo :)))
Scallops not cheap but there recipe is so healthy 👏😊

Woohooz!!
I love ur cooking recipes. Followed the roast chicken in air fryer and the ding tai Fung golden prawn paste n my boy n hubby love the food. I’m going to try more recipes like the chicken rice as I miss eating my mum’s chicken rice.
Beautiful seasonal recipe! So simple and perfect. Who needs an excuse to eat scallops or asparagus.🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hehe. Thank you so much Elsa&lisa. Indeed. We can’t say no to scallops and asparagus too 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I will made this for lunch today with tofu instead of scallops! Thank you!
I consider scallops a festive dish as they are pricey. But this recipe is a good balance with other festive dishes because it is simple to execute; whereas most festive dishes are more complex
yes we also consider scallops a festive season ingredients :)) but for our friends on youtube, we decided to splurge a little :)
Thank you for share😍💓
Family. Loved. It. !
Thanks for sharing!
Soo glad i bumped into your channel. Been a subscriber for a month and I’ve done a couple of your recipes, the taiwanese chicken popcorn and this one.... I’m horrible at cooking but you make your recipes so easy to follow. I already got a 👍 from hubby finally 🤣 thanks chef Roland 😊
Hi Analiza. Glad that we can help to make cooking easy for you. Thank you so much for using our recipes 🙏🙏
ThakU.. Chef.. I will try
Thank you for sharing
My experience with pan fry scallops is the scallops shrink quite a fair bit. Do you have such encounter and how to overcome ?
Hi Kimmerie. We also have this problem until we started using scallops from a particular Canadian brand. There’s nothing you can do except to find a more reliable brand of scallops. Maybe you can try Canadian scallops. Hope this helps. Happy cooking!
Hi! I'm back again. Mmmmmmmm... scallops with asparagus taste so good. That taste so crunchy and delicious asparagus. Great recipe. See u next time.
Good morning, Kenny Rogers! Have a wonderful Sunday!
@@spicenpans welcome. You too.
Hi Roland, made this for family recently and it was fantastic. I was a little worried about so much ginger juice but it really made the dish. It really is easy but you do need your mise-en-place because the prep moves VERY quickly. Ask a sous chef (family member) to help with the chopping :)
haha. Good thing you have a sous chef at home to help out. It's good family time actually. Thanks so much, fdwyerSDMM for trying out our recipe! :)))
Thank You. I will make this for Chinese New Year.
thank you..yummy chef..❤😋
My favorite foods combined, love asparagus and scallops. Thank you Chef. One question though, if I have prawns on hand do I increase sauce or reduce scallops? Love prawns with scallops. Would you consider doing a full meal, multi course video. I'd love to see how you pair dishes. Love you both.
Good morning, Rebecca!! :)) Multi course meal video...hmm okie! We shall try that next time but the video will be really long. :pp We love you too!
@@spicenpans I could watch hours of your videos. You're both amazing.
Hi Roland, every time i try to pan fry scallops, I get lotsa water coming out of the scallops even after I dried them with kitchen towel (after thawing). What steps did I miss out after I thaw the scallops?
Chef Ronald, can you teach me how to make ginger juice without a blender?
Hi Pei Xuan. You just need a grater which looks like this (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grater - with smaller holes for ginger) and then squeeze the juice out. Hope this helps. Happy cooking!
Another Great Dishes my friend.Hope you and Family are well. God Bless. I wish I could eat this lol lol
Thank you so much bro!
Yum I love your cooking so much
Thank you so much, Jay. You're really kind!
I have got to upgrade the scallops I eat! I usually buy the ones on sale. They're tiny, and while they taste good, three bites and I am done. No more! Thanks.:)
Hi Jason, we also only buy scallops when they're on sale. In Singapore, many brands of scallops will usually go on sale during Chinese New Year period. We've tried Hokkaido scallops and the ones we're using were New Zealand scallops. We found the New Zealand ones to be better because they don't shrink after being cooked. You might wanna try Canadian scallops too although we've never tried them yet. Hope this helps.
Wow - love your channel!

How did you slice your carrots like that?
Am I able to subsitude asparagus for broccoli? Will it taste weird since broccoli tends to absorb sauce?
Hi A MG. No it won’t taste weird. Broccoli is an awesome choice 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@spicenpans thank you very much!
Hi there can u maybe show some recipes for this vege called Chayote? Thanks.
Hi Angeline, hmm interesting. We shall look out for it when we go marketing :)) Thanks for the idea!
IT LOOK'S 😋
Thank you so so much, Tamara :)))
I don’t really like scallops..can I change to other..need your opinion thanks
Hi YunRu, so sorry for our late reply. You can change scallops to prawns :) Happy cooking!
Where to get good and practical priced scallops in pj/kl?
Hi Kunisha, unfortunately we don't know because we stay in Singapore. Usually we wait for special promotion (usually during Chinese new year period). We've tried Hokkaido scallops and the ones we're using were New Zealand scallops. We found the New Zealand ones to be better because they don't shrink after being cooked. Hope this helps.
Can I use prawns instead of scallops?
Hi Elena. So sorry for our late reply. Yes you can use prawns. They are perfect with asparagus too.
@@spicenpans Thank you
LOL!!! Fan Tong.
