I am a beginner, thank you for showing how to use this templates. I've got similar felt templets and it's squares (2in x 2in)- animals. My question how to give more volume ? Thank you in advance.

Hi Irine! Great question. When I use templates like these, to give a bit more volume, especially for animals, once I've got an evenly felted base, I remove it from the template and begin adding more wool fibers strategically to give the piece dimension. Let's say you have a template for the profile of a standing bear: Felt with the template to create a 'cookie cutter' piece giving you the head, body and two of the legs. Add wool to build out the body, with the 'cookie' shape from the template below the expanded body. I would then felt another set of legs only, so that I could attach it to the expanded body. With a little directed stabbing, you can make the sculpture stand on four legs, adding details, smoothing out edges where you added wool and the legs.
I hope this helps! You've given me an idea for another mini tutorial to show how to do this, so keep watching for an update!
