My felted gnomes project is an easy, and rewarding way to learn the basics of needle felting.
This is a perfect project for beginners ages 8-88, and will take about 2 hours to complete. Sculpting with wool is a relaxing way to engage your creative side!
Note: the felting needle is super sharp - youngsters should be supervised by an adult!

I just took a gnome felting class but completely forgot how to make the hat. There weren’t any step by step instructions so your video is a gnome-saver!

Love this! Will be making some! I learned this trick to make your own curly wool: wet thin strips of wool with hot water, wrap around a stick, steam to set the curls and let dry in the sun or use a blow dryer. This way you can make your curls any color you want.

I have used normal knitting wool combed out with a wire brush for beard and hair. It has a crinkle effect if crinkled tops are not available.

Where do I buy all the materials?
I am thinking about making marionette puppets with a felted head, and I wonder if I could felt onto a styrofoam cone to make it more sturdy??
You definitely could! My only hesitation is that the needle sometimes gets jammed in the styrofoam and breaks. So stab gently!
