- Well, it's nice to be back. Here I explain why I have been missing for a while. Sometimes it doesn't take much to put me on a downer (mild depression), but when I have things on my mind, like the health of my father, the last thing I need is an unkind person having a go at me about my video's. I am my worse critic, aiming for perfection, but there always has to be a compromise when trying to get audio on a motorcycle. There are so many factors trying to mess things up, even just a change of atmospherics caused by a change of wind direction, can cause distortion. So, when someone who has never attempted to record video and audio on a motorcycle, has a go at me, even suggesting that I watch "more sophisticated" channels, I kind of went into myself, questioning whether I should bother with it all. These comments ended with a "lol" or laughing emoji, which took me right back to my school days. Those days when my bullies, would laugh out loud, while beating me up to steal my dinner money. Or holding me down, whilst their mate rode over my abdomen on his bicycle, always laughing at the pain I was in. Those school days left me with issues, which occasionally reoccur to this day. This chap, obviously thinks it is funny to publicly put me down. Well I don't think it is funny at all. There is a link within this video and at the end, to my last video, where he is having the dig. Please feel free to add your comments to that too !
Back to today's video, we take a bimble on my Royal Enfield Classic 350, around some of the gorgeous lanes within the Arnside and Silverdale area of outstanding beauty. Lovely spring sunshine, but a brisk wind.

Nothing wrong with the sound on any of your vids and it's always a joy to go for a bimble with you Ian. The internet trolls NEVER give up as long as you keep feeding them so easier to just block the fools! Summer is coming so plenty of opportunities to enjoy Clementine and if you choose to take us with you that'd be great. Keep up the good work.

Smashing video of the quiet backroads in your neck of the woods, makes me regret the number of times i have shot by on the M6 in my little campervan on the way up north to the lakes or Scotland. Must definitely make a detour on the way back from the lakes in July.
Thanks Richard. Arnside and Silverdale really do have some pretty villages, and scenic walks. At the very end, we are about to join the A6 (Carnforth to Milnthorpe). It is quite literally about 5 mins from M6 J35. Cheers

Thank you Mark. Yes, if the RUclips algorithm can see that a channel’s vids are getting interactions, they tend to promote them more. It means viewers are enjoying the content, so the more YT promotes it, the more money they make. I think us smaller channels are more honest, taking all my friends on scenic rides. Yes, I do class everyone as a friend 😂
Hello Ian, your videos and audio are great! I enjoy watching them over here the USA, it is wonderful seeing the old architecture and stone walls. ( I am a retired stone and block mason) Don't let Mr negative impact your efforts. You do a great job sharing the wonderful scenery and great little bike! Stay safe and above his meager level.

glad you made it out, nice ride and glorious scenery. It's easy to say "don;t let them get to you" but it's not so simple, just accept that there are ass-hats out there. I often find it helpful to write a reply to a comment (usually on a video or a news article) but don't post it, just dwell on it for a moment and then think to yourself - what will it do, how will it further the conversation? In most cases it won't. Welcome to Pip, you can't beat the love and devotion of a little dog, it's pure and unconditional.

As always Ian your sound is spot on, as is your stock exhaust! As for trolls just block them, they want you to argue with them, ignoring them by blocking them takes their enjoyment away.

Hi Ian, So glad your out & about on the bike again. I did see the comment you put on Mr Taym's channel & was saddened when you said you were not up to going out on your bike. With the worry & stress you have had regarding your Dad its understandable & then all it takes is the smallest thing to happen to knock you into an even darker place which can take some getting out of. Your pooch looks lovely & full of fun. My bike has been back to Jim's for her 1st service so hopefully i can get a bit of riding in this year.

Your videos give me joy and the quality of them is absolutely fine. There are always people out there that are willing to knock others, for their own entertainment. It must be demoralising, when you put your heart and sole into a video and then some fool rips you apart. Easy for me to say, but please try not to take these unpleasant peoples attacks to heart.

Hi Ian, good to see you riding around the sunny lanes again. There's nothing wrong with your audio, he should watch some of my Cornwall videos if he wants to complain about bad audio! Clementine sounds perfect as she is, can't see the point of spending lots of money to get earache and disturb the countryside unnecessarily. I buy reconditioned ex-contract phones from amazon these days, less than half the new price and with 12 months warranty. Good luck getting Pip used to travelling. Cheers, Mick

As for Pip, can she see outside when travelling or is she on a knee or a seat, maybe she needs some points of reference to ease her nausea caused by movement when travelling, I’m no expert though ! Thanks Adrian. As she also suffers from separation anxiety, she is on a seatbelt harness on the middle front seat. Ann tries to get her to look forward, but she prefers to lie down, and go to sleep……not good 🫣 thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks Neil. As you know, sometimes it doesn’t take much to push you over the edge. I didn’t need that negativity at that time, with so much other stuff going on 🙄. As usual, thanks for your support. As for introducing Pip, I did word it like that, thinking people might be expecting another bike 😂. Pip, is coming round to our ways, though she clearly misses the busyness of her previous family…..2 adults, 5 kids including a new baby (4 girls 1boy) 3 dogs (including her) and 3 cats. While walking her here, if she hears kids playing, she stops, and tries to find them. Sad really, but hopefully she will adapt. Cheers

I totally understand the urge to engage and probably felt the same as you, but I did manage to resist the urge and chose not to rise to ‘his’ bait, assuming off course that it is a he? 🤔 🤭 Sound is spot on, you’ve got the balance between voice and engine volume pretty much spot on! 👌🏻 Congrats on adding PIp to the family. Interesting our dog is called Pippa and couldn’t travel well as a pup (travel sickness) but fortunately she grew out of it by the time she reached the age of 1

On the phones subject I've just finished paying for my old Samsung J42 , I'm not upgrading though as it does me fine and takes cracking photos despite the odd reviews saying it doesn't?

Morning Mel, he must have a small wotnot 😂. Yes, I have come to the same conclusion about the pipe, don’t have enough cash to waste on unnecessary things. I might think about adding another to the stable at the end of 24, or early 25. I bet the Scram 450 will be a corker too 🤔🤦♂️. The worst thing about today’s internet world is, is that there are too many ways for people to leave reviews about things. Phones being a fine example. Loads of people/reviewers, rave about something, but in the comments, it gets slagged off. It was far easier to just walk into a shop, and buy what takes your fancy, hopefully without any regrets 🫣😂. We are have a sim “contract”, so buy our own phones, and get good use out of them. It’s a shame the built in obsolescence is a thing, it happened on my old iPad mini too. There was nothing wrong with it, but certain apps (including banking) wouldn’t bloody work with the older operating software. Very annoying 🤬.

I don’t like blocking people, and RUclips also doesn’t like me blocking people, but sod it, if they try and push my buttons from now on, they will be blocked (I have blocked some in the past). This one just caught me at a low ebb, which then just made things worse in my head. On the right track now though, just need to get out on Clementine again, and get back into the routine. 😉

Also meat to say, I bought the Pixel 7a, decent phone but I swapped out the OS to Graphene OS. The new OS stops Google and everyone from spying on you. Takes a bit of time to setup but working well.

Thanks Andrew. Pip came with a few bad habits, stealing food being one of them……but about 3 weeks down the line, she is beginning to behave. She now knows “LEAVE” and “No”, to the point where she just lies under the table while we are eating. She knows she will get a treat afterwards as a reward. That said though, in typical terrier fashion, if she thinks you aren’t looking …….🫣😂 Since we lost Molly, there has been a big gap. At least if Pip gets into mischief, we can easily just pick her up, not sure you could do that 🤔😂

Ours are going on 8yo and the deaf one suffers from epileptic fits , That is a sight to behold I can tell you.... , So they probably only have a couple of years left.
We will be so lost without them they bring so much happiness to all of us.

I think the guy was trying to push your buttons as he must know how much time you spend on the sound. I have said before your sound is excellent and speech is very clear. The guy is an idiot full stop. I have not yet had to ban anyone but I would if need be. I got a comment the other week moaning about the music was too loud on one of my vids, I really wanted to tell just turn the volume down but bit my tongue, I won't get into a debate with them because they think they are right. Keep up the good work Ian.

Ian I get it there are plenty of cretins about he is obviously is a twat without a life and full of jealousy . My wife had an accident in our new place which knocked me for six so have not been in a good place lately sometimes things can just put you in a dark place and it's easy to say just snap out of it but it's not that easy it just take time and some good moments to get you back on track . Great to see you out again always a great watch .You have done well to have your phone from 2017 and it still works wow I am impressed 😉.👌👍
Thanks Mal. So sorry to hear about your wife’s accident, and your situation too. It really isn’t easy to build those defensive blocks back up once someone has knocked them down. At least, thankfully, I am heading in the right direction now though. As for the phone, I certainly believe in getting my money’s worth. Tbh, for the last couple of years, it had been getting slower and slower, especially as it wouldn’t upgrade beyond Android 8. Can’t believe how much quicker this new Pixel 7a is, hopefully it will last as long. Cheers

I had a chap on railway vid stating 100% wrong comments about coupling locomotives to trains. I did it 42years and was an instructor. The guy got under my skin so I let him have the last say. Did.nt reply. Suspect the chap was a spotter with some knowledge but claiming he was a driver. But obviously not. Waste of time arguing with people online.
