For those who still consider this too "expensive", you guys know that there are cheaper alternatives right?
Back in the day, "affordable" meant a $1200 Cintiq 13HD which was pure BS. I'm simply glad that they're making efforts to bring prices down. And for the love of god, it's actually cheaper than an Intuos Pro Medium, which is just a "regular" graphic tablet. I appreciate the leaps and bounds they did to achieve that feat, with a little help from competitors of course!
Somehow, people will always find ways to complain and ramble. I bet if Wacom releases something like a "Wacom One Mini" that's 10 inches small and costs $250, some pent-up folks will still scream "ToO ExPeNSiVe....nOT fOR Me!". Complaining requires a lot of emotional energy, which you should instead be using to work and grind harder to save up for an alternative display tablet so you can actually get one (my suggestion: the XP-Pen 12). Just saying.
On a side note, I might be getting one of these boys so that I can have something to take with me on-the-go. I have the 16-inch, but like you said, it's way too bulky, at least for my backpack and my aching back :(
Thanks for this review though, gave me a load of new insights apart from the other review vids already done. Cheers!

I was just researching drawing tablets when I discovered this just came out. I'm a hobbyist digital artist trying to break into being more professional, but I just can't justify the money for a cintiq right now. I'm coming from a Sony Vaio flip that I had for 6 years and honestly loved for drawing and I got a Suface Go as a temporary replacement until I could get a desktop set up. But the Go is not doing it for me. From the reviews, this will definitely be a step up from the Go in terms of smoothness of drawing. This is absolutely perfect timing.

Well damn, now I wish I hadn''t bought the Huion Kamvas Pro 13 a year ago, as I always liked Wacom. But I'm going to stick with the Huion for now, and console myself that the Huion, besides being 100 bucks cheaper, has twice the pressure levels, better color gamut, slightly better brightness, it's got buttons, and I like the pen. Specs and set-up are otherwise much the same., and Huion has pretty much fixed the old driver issues. I also wish Wacom had heeded the call for an affordable display tablet much sooner.

Would you recommend trading a Wacom cintiq for a Huion Kamvas?

    • @danmagoo
      @danmagoo 4 года назад +3

@@eiatos: The Huion works fine, but I don't do anything too fancy with it, mainly draw and color cartoons. The pressure sensitivity requires a light touch, i.e. it works, but goes from 0 to max without pressing very hard, so it's hard to get the subtle line-differences that I remember from my various (non-display) Wacom tablets. I still consider my Huion Kamvas Pro 13 a good starter-tablet for trying out a display type drawing tablet. If I had it to do over today, now that th WOcomOne is out, I would go with Wacom just because I "know" Wacom. But if buttons on a tablet are important to you, you won't really go wrong with the Huion. If I were you I'd wait for more reviews to come out for the Wacom On, then compare for yourself, although Aaron is a great reviewer.

Dang, this is looking pretty nice. And here I was complaining about the price of Wacom stuff not but like a week or so ago. The only real critique I can lob against this is the lack of buttons on the thing, which is unfortunate since I'm used to having shortcut keys on my old Intuos 4 and the express key remote they sell is severely overpriced (seriously, almost $100 extra). The build quality of this seems way more stable than something like a Huion or XP-Pen, though, so I guess in the end it's kind of a tradeoff? Overall, nice. Man, I don't know what to get, now...

I recently got the One by Wacom, the little affordable non-display tablet, as my first graphics tablet. It's nice being able to draw on the computer without having to use the mouse, but one thing that I have to get used to, which wouldn't be an issue with a display tablet, is when you lift the pen and move it somewhere else on the tablet it can be hard to tell how much space there is before the pen touches the tablet when you start drawing again as you're watching the screen and not the tablet. This sort of slows down the flow of drawing and I suppose it's just something you need to practice with.

Hi Aaron:) Tomeu hier, I wonder if can I use a Wacom one as non display tablet? I love the precision & sensibility of my Cintiq but I find it somehow annoying that I can't see the totality of my monitor because my hand is always on the way. The working position on a non display tablet (flat on the table) is also way more comfortable for me because I don't have to raise my arm as much. I think many other professionals may feel the same way! what do you think? cheers:)

The only thing that I cant seem to stand with these kind of tablets. Is there always seems to be a delay in it keeping up with the tip of the pen, even slightly, and that the pen seems to hover over what your drawing, and not directly on it. and that gap mess's with my head when it comes to placing the open back down on the surface. If I do a line and try and continue that line I always seem off when I try. These issues are why I rather have the non display tablets. Looking at just the mouse pointer on screen and not down at my hand and pen I don't have that sort of disconnect. Not fighting with a delay with the curser to the pen, as I'm not seeing the pen, and I focus on the brush on screen, and not the pen tip. The non displays are also far more affordable.

    3 question
1 - I already have a intuos pro, would I have to delete all the intuos drivers and do a fresh install for the Wacom one to work properly? You're Wacom account has a list of devices you purchased under them so I would believe that the devices would be able to play nice together under the same computer. (Of course not using them at the same time.)
2 - if a Wacom pen is lost or broken does the tablet automatically recognize a newly bought pen, or do you have to pair it in some sort of setting in the drivers?
3 - what is the brush you used at 2:34 and would it be compatible with paint shop Pro 2X?

No need to uninstall. I am running Cintiq 27, Wacom One, Intuos Pro and more on my system.

Just connect your phone / PC / Mac by USB C to USB C cable. It would just need to include a battery inside it. It powers the tablet and the phone. Type C cable with USB 3.1 has enough bandwidth to transfer high-speed data and power at the same time.
I hope next gen device simplifies things and maybe get a type C with USB 4. It has thunderbolt speed data transfer. Should be a simple one cable solution.

All Wacom pen displays are really just an extra monitor you can draw on. Their pen displays connect to your computer so whatever is connected at your computer will pop up on the tablet. That being said, it will (it should) support just about any drawing program you throw at it that’s available on your computer. I’ve used autodesk sketch book on one of their pen and touch tablets before, so I suspect that their pen displays wouldn’t be any different.
TL;DR yes it’s will support this program
