@Trantor The Troll Actually my current Huion is good. Just as he say at the video, Huion improved fast, so it means that their past products are crappy but able to improve to be close to wacom. Wacom monopolized the drawing tablet industry for a long time, Huion is just starting so lets give it time to catch up.
Best Buy in my area was doing appointment only viewings in the showroom. The sales guy didn't know anything about them and tried to sell me an i pad pro. That's all they had out anyway.
cuz... not everyone will be intrested on a drawing tablet, what an average person would do with it? it is targeted at 2D artists, 3D artists, grapic designers and maybe more that i don't know
@@ryy1704 xp pen are way behind huion..... Huion will drop their 24 inch QHD somewhere this year or early next year and it looked amazing in everywhere... am soo waiting for it... Xp pen had the chance but screwed up with no addintion lamination and better pen accurcy for their 22R
i'm a big xp pen fanboy here but if i am going to choose one i'll probably go with the kamvas, the design on huion looks so much more modern and sleek and xp pen looks pretty dated compared to huion, so if xp pen doesn't step up their design game and come up with something new i'll go with huion, but both of these are pretty close
120% srgb is more coverage than 72% ntsc. it's somewhere around 88% ntsc if i remember correctly. some might have some trouble differentiating between them but there you go.
Glad to see, after so many years, since alternatives starting popping up. They have now finally reached at a point, where you can actually argue picking up these alternatives, without too much worry. And compared to a few years ago, these are far far better now. On the other hand, we also have Apple's Ipad line with Apple pencil, which at times can give you the whole package for not a too bad price. Along with Wacom, finally making better options themselves, although still pricey AF in the top tier line. Other than that, great times really, no longer are we stuck on only one company for good drawing experience. Especially with cheaper laminated screens starting to pop out, we can finally get those too! Low parallax and more precision. Nice!
I just can't understand wacom position in the market right now, they still mark up their products so much while the competition has improved significantly where in many cases they are just better In every way 🤷🏻♂️
Khalid Sharaf El-din businesses everywhere will buy Wacom. It was only a few years ago they had 80% of the global market. Even if it’s not that high anymore, they are still by far the biggest player in the game and STILL every drawing pen display gets compared to wacom. When companies start buying Huion then Wacom will be worried but that seems a long way off still.
fuckyoumorgy hands down I would pay the extra for the Wacom tech. A lot of the issues that arise happen a few years down the road. When your computer gets updates etc. The Wacom offers better stability down the line. Not just with software either, the hardware tends to be better quality and lasts a long time too.
It’s a prime time to buy these wacom alternatives. They’ve definitely matured and are comparable to wacom in performance and quality while still being significantly cheaper. But for me, i’ll be waiting until touch features come to these wacom alternatives. Great review as always!
As someone who had only been using wacom for over five years, the price point is way out of line. They're losing features, the specs are comparable to way less expensive alternatives, and the drivers have always been notoriously bad. Only thing that can make a case for wacom is the build quality.
to anyone who wants to know, huion actually does sell a "USB-C to USB-C" cable made specifically for the Kamvas 13! its one of the optional accessories you can add to your order when u buy from their store, right next to the optional stand! its like ten bucks, i think, so no more sanding required lol. uh, downside to buying all the accessories tho is that whatever section is in charge of packaging has decided to include a free drawing glove with every accessory? i ended up with three gloves that just kind of. exist, now. in a drawer.
my side hobby is just supporting things like huion and krita (the smaller, cheaper, kind of worse, but not really worse than the expensive counterparts like photoshop or wacom) and sticking with them waiting for them to improve and become more and more of a competition for those more expensive brands tl;dr seeing huion win made me proud
I wouldn't say that krita is worse than photoshop. For me drawing in krita is much more satisfying than drawing in photoshop. It just feels more natural
yeah i recently bought a kamvas 13 inch and it obviously had issues with either the tablet itself or the cable. disconnecting constantly. if you visit the reddit this is a common problem with them. i was one of the unlucky ones that got a faulty one.
I've been skeptic about Huion all this time due to its many limitations during its early years in the business, particularly to their pen technology and software compatibility and I was convinced Wacom can at least get away with their outrageous pricing schemes because of that. Fast forward to 10 years and now Huion has narrowed down the gap significantly. They now have a vast variety of good quality products at competitive prices, which makes any Wacom tablet criminally expensive. Heck I could even get a good medium size pen tablet from Huion at a fraction of the price Wacom are offering for the medium Intuos Pro. It's getting difficult to recommend them with each year while Huion, (and even another digitizer company XP-Pen) is continuosly improving. Many would argue that Wacom tablets have more features like bluetooth and touch but in my experience thru working with Wacom devices for the past 8 years is that I hardly even use any of them, and sometimes I never use them entirely and they still charge a premium over those novelty features. It's great that we finally now have alternatives we can consider.
i have to share this as i had a bad experience with huion. first ever display tablet i ever bought. i got 5 days ago. honestly out of the box and using it, it was really nice and its a pretty nice tablet. i do love the feel of it and i was really upset to find that the kamvas 2020 for me had a constant disconnecting and reconnecting issue. tried on different computers and still had the same issue repeat. literally tried everything. after running out of ways i could try and fix it. i gave up and am now returning it. This disconnection problem with the 13 inch kamvas seems to be a big issue. you can find a lot of people on the reddit talking about having problems with it. i was probably one of the few unlucky ones who got a faulty one. but i do warn potential customers that this could happen to yours, it also might not but, the fact my partner, and one of my friends who owned a huion had issues with it. huion doesn't seem all that reliable. for the record i don't think wacom is that great either. but you might want to do some research into all the main issues the tablet brands seem to suffer from before purchasing.
This happened to me so much. After about a year and a half, it got so bad that I just said screw it. Decided to buy a wacom one instead. I get it today. Will see how that goes. Wish me luck.
@@AES5392 I'm liking it quite a bit better. Pros: Drawing feels a lot nicer. The pen is more comfortable in my hand. You don't need a glove since your hand wont move the screen. Built in stand is really nice. No connection issues. Cable uses usb to connect into block (The block then connects into the outlet) Cons: No shortcut buttons (Although, I already knew this would be the case). No gestures you can do with your fingers.
I'm new to this and looking for a drawing tablet for my son. Some of the pens have erasers on the end and some don't. How would you erase without the eraser? Update- lol after many RUclips videos I finally see he can program shortcuts, one being an eraser. We bought the Huion 13 kamvas and are so excited to give it to him!!
@@shaynaleigh1449 what do they say? Most of them have been nothing but praise from what I've seen, with the ocasional dead-from-the-box that doesn't seem too common
I had got a Huion Kamvas 13 but then refunded it and got a Wacom One instead as I was having display issues with it and the instructions for the Huion were confusing for me to follow. It was my very first pen screen display tablet so you could imagine I had no idea what I was really doing in the first place. Huion didn't seem to explain well enough. When I got Wacom one it provided more clearer instructions for me even provided a video. Overall, nothing will probably change my mind from a Wacom. It will always be the one I end up with. My former tablet was a Wacom Bamboo tablet and it lasted for a long time, still working. People can make fuss about Wacom but it will probably always beat out these other tablet competitors, at least for now. Wacom is more durable and more art program friendly. It also professionally reccommended.
I was hoping you would mention a bit more about how it feels to draw on each display, because I always hear the new Wacoms come with this slight texture feel. I'm curious on how much it improves (or not) the drawing experience in comparison to Huion screens.
hey, how is it working now after 1 year....is there any disconnection issue or anything else.....im planning to buy one, it will be a great help if you can share your present experience
@@EzioAuditore-xn9dp hello !! my kamvas still works fine, nothing changed from when I first bought it. as long as you treat it carefully and not damage it, it's good
I got my wacom one ill be getting this one too thanks i like my wacom never had issues i use my s10plus and s20 ultra works well on androids i cant wait to use the huion perfect for tattoo artist on the go or an artist like me love it thanks man been watching your channel for years always helpful thanks
I will never buy another Huion again. Little story, I brought my first Display tablet which was a Huion and it was pretty decent as seen in videos until, after 3 days of having it and only using it once, the pen started hovering over the tablet. So before the pen even touched the tablet it was drawing. I looked up videos and people said they fixed that by contacting Huion, So I decided to contact Huion. They wanted me to BUY another pen even though the pen i brought with the tablet only worked once. It didn't even last a week. Very disappointed in Huion that my $30 Unknown brand graphic tablet worked better than a fricken $400 Huion DISPLAY tablet.
i had the same problem before but they agreed to change the pen for me free of charge but i still had to pay the postal service which was a little annoying
This might have just sold me on a Huion Kamvas 13. I've been using a Wacom Intuos 4 Tablet for the past 10 years or so, and even though it still works fine for me, I'm looking to upgrade. Preferably at a cheaper price :P Thanks for this great review! Subbed 😁
could someone write the prices down here? i looked them up and both where 400$? i think i looked at the wrong one... edit: oops, no the Huion one is 250$ and the Wacom One 400$
$250 is for the tablet only, even direct from Huion. The stand isn't packaged even from their site. Amazon doesn't have the 2020 model yet but the others come bundled together for $279.
For 400$, I'd go for this baby... www.amazon.com/XP-PEN-Artist22-1920x1080-Adjustable-Sensitivity/dp/B07J51LD25/ Edit: Also, the 22E is only 100 bucks more... www.amazon.com/XP-PEN-Artist22E-Drawing-Pressure-Adjustable/dp/B01M9EURM1/
Like this is not related to your question but i am a happy owner of an xp pen artist 12 pro. Its the best graphic tablet ive had. It even beats the wacom cintiq 16. xp pen has a lot of features that are pretty useful and the tablet also has shortcut keys, not like the wacoms. They newer wacoms which are muchbetter than the old ones are pretty pricy and do not have any shortcut buttons unless you buy the extra shortcut key remote. Instead of buying a pricy wacom with not as many features as the xp pen artist 12 pro, buy the xp pen artist 12 pro instead because its a good price ($259.99)
@NotSoMainStream No need to feel stupid, by now people should know what Android means when it's compared to Apple without needing to elaborate. We've had the classic "Mac versus PC" debate for decades and people understand what "PC" means, even though Mac itself is technically a PC.
1:36 Dont say both have 60 degree of rotation. The wacom tablet has rotation, you can rotate the brush the huion has tilt, you can tilt the brush, they are not the same, at all
one thing i really dislike about the huion kamvas in my experience is that even though it is a laminated screen, the pen calibration is absolutely terrible. angle your wrist differently and your cursor won't align to the pen's tip also my huion kamvas pen broke down on its own after 4 months of usage despite taking care of it like it's made out of diamond glass, while my almost 3 years old wacom intuos pen is still 100% working even though i've smacked, dropped, shook it so many times overall i'm glad wacom alternatives are doing their best to compete against wacom but for now, i'm sticking to wacom's build quality. even though it's a bit more expensive, the price is really worth paying in my opinion
@@_.o..o._ The usb c I thought he was kidding at first lol, after watching alot of reviews for almost three weeks and reading good and bad reviews about the huion tablet I decided to get it for my first display tablet I didn't want something expensive tbh I saw this Japanese professional artist in youtube and after watching her review I bought Huion kamvas 13 pro a week ago and then I canceled my order 4 days ago , I can't trust youtuber that are paid off to make good reviews .. I also asked alot of people who own huion some say the pen just stop or have problems with the driver etc .. glad that I canceled my order I will buy wacom one in Jully hopfully and I can't wait :)
@H Hi the problem actually got worse. the screen itself started color bleeding recently and i had to completely stop using it even as side monitor. this is just my experience though, but i haven't experienced any problems at all on my wacom cintiq 16 which i've owned for over half a year now you might have a different experience with huion, but with my experience, i wouldn't want anyone to go through something like that. i'd personally just suggest wacom until the non-wacom brands fully caught up with wacom's level of quality and sorry i don't own a samsung galaxy, so i don't know if it connects to that
Thanks for the vid, Brad. Please make a review of Huion and Xp pen's comparable models. Like their 13.3 inch versions or ~16 inch display tablets. Let us see how they compete in their price segment.
This was so helpful! I want to start doing digital art and wasn't sure if I should get one or the other and thanks to this video, I've decided on Huion!
What about durability, that is such an important factor that I take into account when buying a new device. Because of the Huion is cheaper but will break after 6 months I prefer to pay up for a 2 year durability
The Huion line is pretty durable imo. I have had one drawing tablet and I display tablet from them in my entire time of drawing for 4 years and they both still work just fine. For Wacom however, I can't really speak for them as I'm too broke to afford any of their products lmao
I've been using graphics tablets since I was 12 years old. I was always an avid and loyal Wacom customer, I still have my Wacom Intuos Pro to this day. In 2016/2017 I tried investing in a Huion screen display, and like what you mentioned, I couldn't get past that parallax, no amount of adjustment made it better for me, and the screen, color and drawing quality disappointed me to the point that within weeks of purchase I sold. Wacom has honestly dipped in quality these past few years to the point that I've now decided to chance Huion again, compared to their earlier models, in both overall design and productiveness they've seriously stepped up to the plate and the quality difference is showing. Here's to the Kamvas 16 on the way hoping it'll exceed my expectations!
@citycreek: My dear friend, I'm a beginner concerning graphic tablets, I only worked with the XP-pen beginner models, I have no idea how any other models work and I wish I upgraded to higher end models, but I can't really decide upon one. I'm interested in achieving either a HUION or a GAOMON graphic tablet, but I don't know much about them, are they compatible with other software, or they come preset with their own? Do they have an incorporated battery, cause I would like to use them outdoor if possible... It would be nice if I had the option for that. I thought that maybe you know better, as you are more experienced than I am, as far as I can see...
I’ve owned a Huion before but unfortunately I’ve had problems- from not recognizing pressure sensitivity to a lot of parallaxing. With the Wacom One the only issue I had was having to buy a separate Mini HDMI display port adapter for my Mac since it’s not included. Other than that it worked pretty much flawlessly since then. Think it all comes down to what works best for you ^^
@@inbedduringcovid3005 using the Wacom One is fairly straight forward but the only thing I recommend is (and I mentioned this in my initial comment) is to get a mini HDMI adapter if you use a Mac (as this is not included with the tablet and Mac doesn’t have a regular HDMI port). But other than that it’s fairly straightforward to set up. If you register your product through the Wacom driver you can install CSP (Clip Studio Paint) drawing software
Would be great comparing a non-display vs display drawing tablets. I've been using Wacom non-display drawing tablets for more than 25 years and is hard to imagine what would be the advantages of display drawing tablets. If the display tablet will be used with a laptop or a computer with a monitor I don't see any advantage of the display tablet unless its screen is larger or with higher resolution than the screen of the laptop or computer monitor.
How come nobody talks about the drivers? Like the software is just as important as the hardware... The reason I don't like huion is I lost 100$'s with defective cabels and bad drivers that they refused to replace. And shipping is a nightmare. Edit: also why do alot of people say "not sponsored but they sent me the product". It's literally the same thing, also they might send a reviewer copy. Which most people buying won't get Lastly, if this comment doesn't get deleted. How come there isn't any battery test or like other important requirements to get started. I promise Mac users aren't getting all the details
1: Everyone's personal experience will differ, and from what I've seen Brad focuses on the hardware aspect because that's where everything hits the road. Drivers can be patched, a crappy piece of hardware can't.. If nobody is talking about it, it may be isolated or rare enough that the reviewers haven't experienced it. Huion drivers are well-known for having driver issues, but I've personally never heard of defective cables from Huion. From XP-Pen? Sure, but I get my feed mixed in with furry artists a lot on Twitter, and I haven't seen any significant issue with cables from Huion tablets ever. You just might be very bad at doing your homework before buying a product, you should get better at that. There's no excuse in today's world to ever make an uninformed purchase... and if you want a real issue with drivers, maybe you should turn the critical lens on Wacom drivers as well. They may be nice, but it's been discovered this year that Wacom drivers are collecting a lot of information on your computers, and in some cases without your consent. Details can be found here: robertheaton.com/2020/02/05/wacom-drawing-tablets-track-name-of-every-application-you-open/ 2: You have absolutely no understanding of the difference between a Sponsorship and a Review Item... he's being sponsored by Squarespace, they paid him for the promotion half-way through the video. While this whole video serves as a more-or-less free advertisement for both Wacom and Huion's products, they didn't pay him for either of these in any way other than shipping him some free stuff so long as he's being honest. All they want is for him to play with it and share his thoughts. Cases like this where he's able to keep the product are the exception to the rule, however, most of the time a company will want the product they send you shipped back after a certain amount of time. It's also important to remember that a lot of reviewers who claim to purchase things out of their own pocket are lying through their teeth to keep their reputation up with their large audiences, and were actually paid under the table by the company of the product they're reviewing to not only say they bought it themselves but also _not_ disclose that the company paid them to give a positive review. 3: The system requirements would be good, you have that, it would be quick to throw into his video and it wouldn't take anything away, but at the same time you'd have to be an idiot to not realize that all of these tablets will work well enough on your fairly average notebook no problem. Virtually any computer made after 2010 will happily use these devices. Hell, I used to draw with a Wacom Bamboo and Intuos Medium on an HP Mini from 2007 running Win7 Starter, and my only limitation was the 1.2gHz processor and half a Gig of RAM that couldn't run Photoshop properly, but before I wiped the damn thing for a friend it easily worked well with my 2019 XP-Pen 15.6 display. If your computer can run a USB mouse, it can run the tablet, it's your responsibility to make sure the drivers are compatible; that being said, you can go out to Walmart and get a 400 dollar laptop and start drawing right away with a plug-in tablet. Though, you can shove right off about battery mileage and specifics and your promise that "Mac users aren't getting all the details.". Any Mac user with half a brain in their skull knows that they have to check the specifications of any product they want to buy for their machine _before_ the put up for it, and anyone who doesn't do that is a moron. On a more directly inflammatory note, virtually nobody uses Mac for art anyways compared to Windows. Sure, Huion does account for Mac and Linux in their drivers, but the vast majority of art programs and drivers for hardware either aren't coded for Mac at all, or don't work on them properly(case in point: Photoshop. It's NEVER worked properly on Mac, that's been common knowledge for like 15 years.). If you're doing art on a Mac, you got short-changed by whoever gave you that computer dude. As far as battery life goes, too many variables. Battery mileage will depend on many factors; the computer brand and model, the tablet model, how many applications you have running, how heavy those applications are(some drawing programs are lighter than others.), what your power settings are, how many devices you have plugged in, what hardware is mounted to your motherboard, how bright your screen is, and even how well your battery was made before it was shipped out of the factory.
Does the Huion track pen tilt reliably? Sometimes those cheaper alternatives, like the XP Pen Artist 12 Pro, would not track tilt angle when the pen is within an inch from the screen edges. I wonder if Huion pen display does that too.
How long does huion display tablet last, i know that wacom will last very long ,i just want to know how long does it last in comparison to wacom display tablet
I cannot speak for this specific product but I use a GT-191 V2 and have used it roughly for 2000 hours in total, and no problems have arise yet. Color is still good, no burn in, I am only on my second out of twelve tips they gave in the box. (which this one comes with the Exact same pen from the looks of it. I am pretty heavy handed but the pen holds its own, even against my Wacom.
Hi! Thanks for the review! I`m just waiting for the Huion to arrive from the US (I´m in South America!) Besides the tablet, could someone tell me about the adapter showed at 9:55 . I´d like to buy something similar, my notebook has few ports and most are already occupied. Thanks!
Bought the Kamvas Pro 13 after much debate; but based on a *lot* of re-watching your reviews. Thank you for all you do Unfortunately, my cord broke~ I'm not sure when it happened; I recently had to move across the country.
Graphic tablet has come a long way. Wacom is not the only brand to seek now. Thanks for your videos. I even purchased a Veikk graphic tablet after looking around RUclips videos. Those brands are affordable large tablets. Getting the same sized wacom graphic tablet costs fortune.. Good job for those companies for healthy competition.
Brad, just ran into another video about the Kamvas 13 (and 12) being able to run as a pen tablet! Just curious about wether you knew or didn't think it was worth touching on. Jjust thought that was an amazing feature since the Intuos Pro Small is the same price as the Kamvas 13 and doesn't have a screen to draw on.
Wacom have always priced their stuff like Apple. Fortunately the old tablets at least, were bulletproof. I'm still using an old Intuos 2, previously an old pre-USB Wacom ArtPad II lol . Thinking it's time for an upgrade, which is why I ended up here :) Thanks for the info. I think I will be getting a Huion since I still mostly do traditional art as much as I can, but feel a modern tablet might make digital art a little more fun.
Honestly, You should have just had a 13 inch pen display showdown. With the Kamvas Pro 13 and Xp-Pens 13 included. Also, You forgot to mention how the pen's feel. Pen technology is important but how they feel is even more important.
Why regret it? Wacom will last much longer than most drawing tablets out there. I know from experience with my bamboo. It went on for years with no problem. I've been hearing a lot that Huion has disconnecting problems. I rather pass on that and go with Wacom any day.
I’ve used Wacom products since I was 14, onto my 4th tablet and I’m finally switching brands and trying out this Huion, gonna order it tonight. My last Wacom tablet was a total trash fest and only lasted roughly 6 months. Really hope huion doesn’t disappoint!
@@silkemans2200 It’s been working great for me, I bought the Huion Pro 16 off Amazon and it’s by far the best tablet I’ve ever had. I’ve never had any lag, setting it up was a breeze, and the pen is amazing and feels so comfortable in my hand. I definitely recommend Huion!
I'm trying to decide weather if I should get the union or bacon because I don't really use the buttons but I like have a stand which one should I choose
Actually, I've been using Huion Kamvas 13 for 6 months now and it's very good, no problem at all. For drawing illust almost 24/7- No much parallax (it's very smooth!), no overheat, no driver issues. It depends on how you use it :)) (I used Cintiq 16 before, and prefer Huion for the simpleness)
@@egsiio if you don't mind answering, is Huion reliable? I mean their technical support or durability. This will be my first pen display & drawing is a hobby so I want it to last atleast 5 years.
@@santanu-fr I don't know much about this bcs I've just been using it for about 6 months. But IMHO it will last longer depends on how you use and maintenance it. Mine is for daily professional usage, so for hobby usage I think it's worthy enough.
The only reason why I chose Wacom is because the Huion tablet deadass would not work on my laptop. I kept having to recalibrate it every time I used my laptop screen, the driver interface wouldn’t open on my laptop and i spent five days looking for answers and solutions to no avail. ended up returning it in favour of the Wacom :(
BUY WACOM ONE - I own the Wacom 1, and BECAUSE OF THIS VIDEO I bought the Kamvas 13. I highly regret that decision. The Kamvas 13 is almost unusable with android (s20 Ultra), my Wacom works great and even has pen support. Where the Kamvas doesn't use pen pressure and acts as a mouse. You do need additional cables for both devices to use Android! Also i use a battery bank for the Wacom 1 and it works great. The buttons on the Kamvas are also a joke, that was another reason I wanted it, but they stick supper easily and then your device just freaks out. As far as hooked up to a computer goes, they both work great. However Wacom software is better and more customizable. I prefer the Wacom pen, the buttons on it don't feel as cheap, and it is a bit smaller which feels better in my hand. I am bummed the Kamvas was such a flop, but I am really bummed this video feels like a huge lie!
This vid, along with the Kamvas 13 Review (2020 version) vid, helped me make up my mind to buy one, which will be here tomorrow. They seem to have updated their packages, as mine says it comes complete with the 3-in-one cable as well as the USB-C to USB-C cable also.
Great review and comparisons! Honestly the emphasis on how both weren't recommended for Android drawing is very needed (especially both models have it as a selling point). If you don't mind recommendations, I'd love to see Wacom Cintiq 22 vs XP-PEN 22R Pro, maybe with Kamvas Pro 22 too because I still wonder if its worth giving up Huion's laminated screen for either of these models.
I'm a total painting newbie and I picked up a Kamvas 13 at the end of last year. I am unfortunately unhappy with it for the following reasons: 1) the calibration does not seem to work properly. It is off by a few millimeters and differently at every place on the screen. For example, at the left edge, cursor might be below a little under the tip and at the right edge the cursor might be at the top right of the tip by a few millimeters. Is this something more experienced artists just deal with and compensate for? I'm wondering about that as this is almost never touched on in the reviews. 2) I really dislike the material covering the screen. It might be that it reduces the distance between pen and image with that, but it just looks aweful and oddly shiny. It's like a really bad screen protector on top of it. It just feels so oddly wrong to do pencil sketches and have that shiny material on top of it. I can't really explain it much better. I'd really like to know whether a higher priced Cintiq or product by a different manufacturer are different in those regards. Does anyone here have experience with that?
I think you need to remove the screen that has the "shiny" effect because it's meant to protect the anti-glare screen from what I've seen from reviews. Hope it helps!
The Parallaxe seems still kinda big on the Huion for a laminated display. Can you maybe compare this for different devices? (is it really laminated? My old Thinkpad Yoga X1 has less space between the glasssurface and and the actual screen).
Bought the Huion screen tablet half a year ago, been using it every day. There were some issues, but I was able to fix them from the tutorials online. I would highly recommend it, it's way cheaper than Wacom.
you shouldn't love a brand, but the product of that brand, choose whichever is the best at the moment, on your price point look at amd, they where really bad before ryzen but now they are just the best in every way, it's nonsense to continue to spit on them. intel is just bad right now it's stupid to buy their product
Graphic tablet: Between a ~$300 Wacom Intuos and $76 Huion H610 Pro, you can clearly see the economic advantage. For that money, I can't complain about the minor differences like the feel of the surface. Wacom feels more paper-like. Huion is still really slippery and plastic but it's not a big deal, again, for the price. I was surprise how easy Huion driver went in my computer and stayed stable for a couple years. Wacom drivers have given much more trouble. Huion pens are more stable and cheap, too. But when talking about pen display or pen computer: Wacom still beat Huion on the quality of the screen. From an artist point of view, the paper feel and color quality are more important. Especially, when you tilt the display, there's less color change on the wacom screen. Both Xpen and Huion have prominent color distortion when being tilted. Anyway, this is my experiences with them years ago. Things may change. I'm still using Wacom as my main device and Huion as a sub that I can care-freely carry around without getting a heart attack even when a butterfly lands on the screen.
Was all for this until I saw there was no usb cable in the pack...WTF!? How do they expect you to use it! Kinda a deal breaker when you have to get the stand and a cable, might as well go for the wacom then as it will end up being the same price.
There is a few cables in most of the packs now. They include the 3-in-one cable as standard (which he showed in his unpacking/review video). When it was first released it didn't have a USBC-USBC cable but the one I just ordered does, but this is only useful if you have a PC/Laptop that has a USB-C port, which my laptop does, but my PC currently does not, so the standard 3-in-one cable will be used on the PC and USB-C cable on the laptop,
I love the arrival of competitors to Wacom and now I'll have to convince the IT at school to allow the installation of drivers on their systems for the huion tablets. Really a bummer that if i invested in a cheaper yet comparable device that I can't use them in the labs.
After you have explained touch screen as a must I prefer to keep my old drawing pad. No need to spend that much money if things are not going smoothly. Thanks for this Infos you saved me from spending money at least till I save enough for a pen display that has a touch option
For me, touch screen would be good when I'm away from home and utilising the android connection function, but I'll mainly be using it at home linked up to a PC so not having the touch screen functions is actually better for me.
I already have a tab s4, but wouldn't mind an affordable tablet like this to give me an extra 4.5 square inches of drawing space when I'm wanting to get more serious into creating comics. But, since mobile drawing apps are so touch focused, I'm really gonna need one that gives me touch as well as pen input before I can justify paying extra for something my tablet technically can already do without the extra purchase That is, unless, you can use your tablet off to the side for pinch zoom and gesture features like that while using the huion for the actual drawing. Anyone wanna clear that up for me?
Thanks for the review, this has helped me out a lot as I've been umming and erring a lot about what pen display to go with and I've been leaning towards a Huion and both this video and your review of the Huion Kamvas 13 has I think tipped me over towards that. Thanks again :) I've been using an Intuos4 for some years now but I feel like I've hit a wall with the whole disconnect between where you're drawing and where it appears. I was very pleasantly surprised to see how inexpensive pen displays have gotten, I remember when there was just the Cintiq and it was several thousand £/$! :O But I digress, thanks again!
So how is it on the long term? And drivers support? I'm curious to see if they've been better on that matter. I own a Huion tablet already and as many other people, it just stopped working after a few months. And the drivers haven't worked with Windows 10 for more than a year, you have to DL very old drivers.
@@huzzerps I think its Android compatibility is more of a gimmick lol, there's no touch so you can't zoom in/out or anything with this tablet. Turning it into a pen tablet is just turning the screen off to save battery.
I Bought a Huion Kamvas 13 and I'm struggling with what should Probably be a Simple Setting it seems to have 3 options: 1. Mirror the Main Monitor 2. Stretch the Desktop across two devices 3. Configure My Monitor and Pad Independently... what do You Recommend? it's Confusing My Smooth Brain
Just got the huion canvas 13! Aaaand it says no signal... the screen turns on, then says no signal, with a pic of a monitor with a cross through it... and turns black. Works fine but no screen. Any ideas?
I had Huion 13 pro for years. And now I managed to get Wacom One for really cheap. I must say, I like Wacom better. It feels like a quality product. It's sturdy. The feel of pencil drawing on the screen is better. The hand on the screen feels like drawing on paper. Its much less prone to fingerprints and it doesnt need a glove. The thing I don't like compared to Huion. - the pen. It has only one function button, and it clicks on the top of the button which is really hard to reach. I always used bottom part on Huions and it worked well.

Chris_The_Onion so do you recommend getting a wacom display or a huion?
fuckyoumorgy hands down I would pay the extra for the Wacom tech. A lot of the issues that arise happen a few years down the road. When your computer gets updates etc. The Wacom offers better stability down the line. Not just with software either, the hardware tends to be better quality and lasts a long time too.
Idk, because you have this type of videos and the other, were says that huion sucks, so you always will have the old trusty guy wacom
@@carolinainostroza1285 huion below 2019 sucks, after that its good based on what Im using right now (Huion 2019 pro 22)
It’s a prime time to buy these wacom alternatives. They’ve definitely matured and are comparable to wacom in performance and quality while still being significantly cheaper. But for me, i’ll be waiting until touch features come to these wacom alternatives. Great review as always!
xp pen has a touchscreen tablet now! but it's pricey.
As someone who had only been using wacom for over five years, the price point is way out of line. They're losing features, the specs are comparable to way less expensive alternatives, and the drivers have always been notoriously bad. Only thing that can make a case for wacom is the build quality.
@mehmeth9773Are you sure I don't think I heard all the complaints about pens, at least in kamvas?
to anyone who wants to know, huion actually does sell a "USB-C to USB-C" cable made specifically for the Kamvas 13! its one of the optional accessories you can add to your order when u buy from their store, right next to the optional stand! its like ten bucks, i think, so no more sanding required lol.
uh, downside to buying all the accessories tho is that whatever section is in charge of packaging has decided to include a free drawing glove with every accessory? i ended up with three gloves that just kind of. exist, now. in a drawer.
my side hobby is just supporting things like huion and krita (the smaller, cheaper, kind of worse, but not really worse than the expensive counterparts like photoshop or wacom) and sticking with them waiting for them to improve and become more and more of a competition for those more expensive brands
tl;dr seeing huion win made me proud

It's great that we finally now have alternatives we can consider.
tbh at first I was a bit biased but now hearing your review I feel a bit more confident of getting the Kamvas

Huion has totally been killing it lately. I just love their products so much!
i have to share this as i had a bad experience with huion. first ever display tablet i ever bought. i got 5 days ago. honestly out of the box and using it, it was really nice and its a pretty nice tablet. i do love the feel of it and i was really upset to find that the kamvas 2020 for me had a constant disconnecting and reconnecting issue. tried on different computers and still had the same issue repeat. literally tried everything. after running out of ways i could try and fix it. i gave up and am now returning it.
Thx for sharing
Yeah, this issue is annoying. Sometimes my Huion disconnect and connects again. This is big flaw, but I can live with it

I don't regret getting a Huion Kamvas 13 at all, it was much cheaper than the Wacom and it works amazingly. It was worth the money.

They wanted me to BUY another pen even though the pen i brought with the tablet only worked once. It didn't even last a week. Very disappointed in Huion that my $30 Unknown brand graphic tablet worked better than a fricken $400 Huion DISPLAY tablet.

Thanks!! I’ve had really good experiences with Wacom, but the price with Huion is so much accordable.
1:36 Dont say both have 60 degree of rotation. The wacom tablet has rotation, you can rotate the brush
the huion has tilt, you can tilt the brush, they are not the same, at all
one thing i really dislike about the huion kamvas in my experience is that even though it is a laminated screen, the pen calibration is absolutely terrible. angle your wrist differently and your cursor won't align to the pen's tip
also my huion kamvas pen broke down on its own after 4 months of usage despite taking care of it like it's made out of diamond glass, while my almost 3 years old wacom intuos pen is still 100% working even though i've smacked, dropped, shook it so many times
overall i'm glad wacom alternatives are doing their best to compete against wacom but for now, i'm sticking to wacom's build quality. even though it's a bit more expensive, the price is really worth paying in my opinion

This was so helpful! I want to start doing digital art and wasn't sure if I should get one or the other and thanks to this video, I've decided on Huion!
When the Apple Pencil came out, I knew Wacom is in trouble. A few years later, the company still moves so slowly, it's practically a dinosaur now.

Wacom has honestly dipped in quality these past few years to the point that I've now decided to chance Huion again, compared to their earlier models, in both overall design and productiveness they've seriously stepped up to the plate and the quality difference is showing.

If you register your product through the Wacom driver you can install CSP (Clip Studio Paint) drawing software

im just watching to make myself feel bad about being broke to afford any of those haha
That a weird point it's like drawing straight onto something instead of drawing on one thing and looking at another it's more natural
Which most people buying won't get
Lastly, if this comment doesn't get deleted.
Details can be found here: robertheaton.com/2020/02/05/wacom-drawing-tablets-track-name-of-every-application-you-open/
2: You have absolutely no understanding of the difference between a Sponsorship and a Review Item... he's being sponsored by Squarespace, they paid him for the promotion half-way through the video.

Next : WACOM vs XP PEN, PLEASE!
Or huion vs xp pen
xp pen loses lol.. what is this ... its not fair anyways... Huion vs wacom is douable tho
@@Userdoesnotexit Agree.
Xp pen bandinginnya sama huion dong, jangan wacom, pasti jauh beda :(
I'm still waiting for this
Does the Huion track pen tilt reliably?
I`m just waiting for the Huion to arrive from the US (I´m in South America!)
Besides the tablet, could someone tell me about the adapter showed at 9:55 . I´d like to buy something similar, my notebook has few ports and most are already occupied.
Thanks!
Bought the Kamvas Pro 13 after much debate; but based on a *lot* of re-watching your reviews. Thank you for all you do
Unfortunately, my cord broke~
I'm not sure when it happened;
I recently had to move across the country.
Thinking it's time for an upgrade, which is why I ended up here :)
Thanks for the info.
He has full reviews of both tablets om his channel too with full review of the pen feel, so if you haven't seen those yet, check them out! :)
And what about the customer service ? I don't know for Huion but I've got a 20 years old wacom tablet (Intuos 2) and I still find drivers...
this really makes me regret buying my wacom one,,
i ended up having to buy a clip studio tabmate too since the one doesnt come with any buttons..
don't feel bad. a lot of people say that the huion 13's keys are sticky and cheap.
Why regret it? Wacom will last much longer than most drawing tablets out there. I know from experience with my bamboo. It went on for years with no problem. I've been hearing a lot that Huion has disconnecting problems. I rather pass on that and go with Wacom any day.
I've been waiting for this!!! Thank youu
I’ve used Wacom products since I was 14, onto my 4th tablet and I’m finally switching brands and trying out this Huion, gonna order it tonight. My last Wacom tablet was a total trash fest and only lasted roughly 6 months. Really hope huion doesn’t disappoint!
and? I am not sure which brand to get
@@silkemans2200 It’s been working great for me, I bought the Huion Pro 16 off Amazon and it’s by far the best tablet I’ve ever had.
For drawing illust almost 24/7-
No much parallax (it's very smooth!), no overheat, no driver issues. It depends on how you use it :)) (I used Cintiq 16 before, and prefer Huion for the simpleness)
How many wires do you have to connect or is one USB C enough?
@@santanu-fr I'm using the 3-in1 cable, all to my laptop slots. But you can use another USB-C type only, it's sold separately.
@@egsiio thanks for the answer.
Thanks for the review Brad! Wasn’t sure about Huion... this helped!
Ok lesson learned, never drink liquids while watching your videos! I almost drowned at the water bottle comment, lol! Great video!
This vid, along with the Kamvas 13 Review (2020 version) vid, helped me make up my mind to buy one, which will be here tomorrow. They seem to have updated their packages, as mine says it comes complete with the 3-in-one cable as well as the USB-C to USB-C cable also.
Beside huion website that I dont trust how do you get this display, I heard shipping time would be 2 months+ and they dont give tracking number....
Uhh..they do,I bought it on Shopee,it's a famous website in Asia, don't know about other continent.
Hows your unit so far? Is it good? I m planning to get one with Shopee too. Im just afraid that i read bad reviews on their products.
Hey! Absolutely love your videos!! Keep up the good work
Thank you so much for making this video!!!
The Parallaxe seems still kinda big on the Huion for a laminated display. Can you maybe compare this for different devices? (is it really laminated? My old Thinkpad Yoga X1 has less space between the glasssurface and and the actual screen).
I will choose the Wacom because their device will still be working five years from now.
Bought the Huion screen tablet half a year ago, been using it every day. There were some issues, but I was able to fix them from the tutorials online. I would highly recommend it, it's way cheaper than Wacom.
oh it's finally on Amazon!
09:55 what's that little connector thing and what does it do?
Is it mandatory to have?
I really love wacom😭 but base on what you said huion is the winner😭
you shouldn't love a brand, but the product of that brand, choose whichever is the best at the moment, on your price point

Graphic tablet:
Between a ~$300 Wacom Intuos and $76 Huion H610 Pro, you can clearly see the economic advantage.
But when talking about pen display or pen computer:
Wacom still beat Huion on the quality of the screen.
How can I know if my usb c cable is good enough? I already cut one in order to make it fit, but it didn't work!
When it was first released it didn't have a USBC-USBC cable but the one I just ordered does, but this is only useful if you have a PC/Laptop that has a USB-C port, which my laptop does, but my PC currently does not, so the standard 3-in-one cable will be used on the PC and USB-C cable on the laptop,
you forgort to mention the wacom tablet has a bundle of software :/ So it can be taken in the balance of the price imo.
I love the arrival of competitors to Wacom and now I'll have to convince the IT at school to allow the installation of drivers on their systems for the huion tablets. Really a bummer that if i invested in a cheaper yet comparable device that I can't use them in the labs.
Waiting *TOUCH*-pen display from huion ...
I thought 1:46 says.... something else.
Naughty naughty.
Chris Dodge more like bad eyesight mate
Almost bought the wacom one thinking the huion might be bad, glad I did some research, better bang for my buck and better price
I already have a tab s4, but wouldn't mind an affordable tablet like this to give me an extra 4.5 square inches of drawing space when I'm wanting to get more serious into creating comics. But, since mobile drawing apps are so touch focused, I'm really gonna need one that gives me touch as well as pen input before I can justify paying extra for something my tablet technically can already do without the extra purchase
That is, unless, you can use your tablet off to the side for pinch zoom and gesture features like that while using the huion for the actual drawing.
But I digress, thanks again!
I love your art style.
So how is it on the long term? And drivers support?
I'm curious to see if they've been better on that matter.
I own a Huion tablet already and as many other people, it just stopped working after a few months.
And the drivers haven't worked with Windows 10 for more than a year, you have to DL very old drivers.
I didn’t know you could use these with android phones :o
@@huzzerps not really if you dont use mobile applications. Because most artist who use pc programs stick with that.
also you can turn off the screen of the huion and use as a pen tablet!
@@huzzerps I think its Android compatibility is more of a gimmick lol, there's no touch so you can't zoom in/out or anything with this tablet. Turning it into a pen tablet is just turning the screen off to save battery.
@@nenidetic I wouldn't say a gimmick, but a not so successful try to make the tablet go mobile and use whenever you want.

Haha, you've got great humor! Let's see what Brad thinks
You need more attention! You’re the best
