Huion 13 pro's 2020 version is very similar and it's cheaper too.
@@kassian3681 it is considered a budget tablet considering the normal prices of wacom products. A mobile studio pro will run you about 2-3 grand, even their cheaper pen display like the cintiq are in the 1k range for the most part. 399 for a wacom product is amazing.

The best thing about digital painting is how potential is almost infinite and mistakes can be undone just like that, other mediums can't compare.

But have you considered... We don't make mistakes? We just have happy accidents.
I love digital. But I love the feeling of happy mess ups. It doesn’t slow me down to just keep going. I sketch with sharpies and pentel sign pens a lot so I got use to it after 2 years.

No, not that Huion 420/H420...
It's extremely Small and you'll need more than necessary time to learn and adjust to the small size.... It's only 4×2 inch, too small to drawn (it's supposed to be Signature Tablet, to sign digital documents, not for Drawing)
For begginers, it's recommended to get at least 6×4 inch (Wacom small size) tablet... And if it possible, get something bigger like 10×6 inch (medium size) to draw easily with larger surface...
Why you buy a really small and hard to control tablet if you can get something decent and better for a small price too ?
Instead of that small Huion 420/H420, Get something better Like :
- Huion Hs64 (6×4, $39.9)
- XP Pen G640S (6×4, $39.9, only 4 left in Amazon)
- XP Pen G640 (6×4, $29.99, even though it's thin, but surprisingly tough)
- Huion H640P(6×4, $39.9)
- XP Pen Star 03 V2 (10×6, $34.99. the biggest for small price)...
- XP Pen Deco 01 V2 (10×6, $49.99, way better than Star 03 due to better pen)

Someone with Huion H420 may draw better against someone with decent+bigger tablet...
But, for begginers, it would be easier and less painful to learn bigger tablet than a extremely small tablet...
I also have a friend that have H420, and he drew better than me.. but he admitted that it's really hard to learn those small tablet...
Even though he didn't regret it (since H420 is cheap), he would prefer to bigger tablet (like H640P) if he were about to start...
yeah this thing is way out of my price range im not sure i would consider something at that price great for beginners thats a lot of money to put out for something you are new too.. personally im going to get a mid size tablet for me as a beginner

Try Bosto 16 HD, or just buy non-screen drawing tablet like intuos , but if you're really on budget, huion 429 might fit your budget

But no, they just slap $400 because they want to, because ooo, ooo it’s Wacom at this point. Good product, not the best but not the worst, but hideous pricing. Make the Wacom One $250 and I’ll take a look into it.

That's kinda the thing. When you get it you won't be able to do digital art because you haven't done digital art, but then you have the thing to do the stuff- add some time- and BAM! you're doing awesome digital art. Art is just time and effort, the exact amounts of each are different for everyone, but as long as you do it you will get better. In short, do it because it's way too fun not to.

@@athernaut7939 lol no, why would he/she even consider doing such a weird thing? Huion is almost the same price, so whats the reason? And intuos is bad bad idea for like a 70% of people, not seeing what you draw can actually discurage you form doing digital art at all.

As a semi-serious artist who's been drawing digitally for five years, I totally recommend Wacom products. They're expensive, yes, but the longevity is worth it in my opinion. Not only that, but it's the only brand I've seen with a battery free pen, which is great.
Brands like Huion and X-Pen are getting better, but they're cheaper for a reason. They tend to wear out faster, and have a lot more compatibility/hardware issues.
But, budgeting can get in the way, so despite my recommendation, don't think you need Wacom. No shame in getting a more affordable brand! Good luck!

Looks good. As a professional illustrator, Clip Studio has everything I need, too. I have an older version of Photoshop that I bought before they went to their horrible subscription model, and I don't use it anymore. For illustration purposes, Clip Studio does everything Photoshop does and a whole lot more.
There’s plenty of other brands just as good or even better with their screen tablets, the price is a little too high for this quality

I bought an ipad 2018 originally for school purpose to take notes, but now I mostly use it for my drawings although it has not a big surface. But it does the job for a small artist like me. Yesterday I recorded my very first RUclips video of my last drawing bc of you. I can't wait to make more of these! You really inspire me to draw more!☺

A "3rd party pencil holder" that I've used for quite a while now is just a heavier shot glass. You want one that won't tip over with the weight of the pen. Some of the smaller ones with a wider top than the bottom tend to tip over a little too easily.

@@brokeboi6079 Well, the one I have is that Cintiq Companion Hybrid from like 2014, i think this new model should be similar maybe better but for a lot less money, even if it can not be used as an Android tablet i just think this new One looks great i would only ask for a 1440p resolution at the minimum for every tablet out there.

Most drawing tablets require a pc. You can buy tablets like wacom mobile studio or wacom cintiq companion that have their own built in computers, but they are really pricey ;_;

The holidays just ended and for sure a lot of people got their beginners setup (including myself) so it’ll be cool if you got the chance show us more in detail how to study. Nothing like watching real-time examples.

I'm actually going to consider this. I have an old intuos I used through college and have been looking to upgrade, and cintiq just seemed WAY out of my price range. Though this is on the higher end, It's definitley cheaper than the ipad set up I was pricing 😓

ngl I'd still stick with the iPad for digital art. Especially if you wanna have a portable option. I have an older iPad pro and it still works almost perfect. Only a little lag when i'm using adobe draw

Why is everyone taking about that screen tablet stuff, as a beginner artist I'd suggest a cheap no-screen tablet like the wacom bamboo or a cheap intuos. That's what i started with 8 years ago and only now i am willing to upgrade to a screen.
Why is that? I'm trying to gather as much information I need before I commit 😆

I was shocked when Wacom dropped this Wacom One, made me want to buy this even I already have my XP Pen 15.6 pro. But hey might getting one one day cuz I did bought intuos before and damn the pen was the best thing ever I use, it’s thin and didn’t feel springy compare to my Xp pen. Saw those Wacom one use this kind of pen for this made me want to back to Wacom again ^^

I've been saving up for the cintiq 16 for a few weeks now and now I can save up for this cheaper alternative!
Huion Kamvas 16 has buttons on it and it's only $200 🤔. This is pretty compelling from Wacom but for 200 dollars more, I don't think it's competitive enough as a budget display tablet.
Well, it has Very accurate pen when tilted and the textured surface as the value....
But it still lose due to non Laminated display and low Color gamut (not good for professional level color accurate work)..
Good for begginers and semi professional (or someone who doesn't care about color, like black&white art ?)...
But for color accurate and else, it would be bad...
Something to think about with this one as well is being able to use it with a mobile phone

Not really. Wacom one at least doesn't have accuracy issues and spongy pen. Even this low end pen is better than huion.
BUT when will procreate if ever come to wacom and cintiq ughhh??? Most people literally buy an ipad just because of procreate D:

Bruh recommending a wacom tablet when there are so much cheaper options with screens where some are even better than what wacom provides at this price point is EVIL. You should´ve compared it to Huion or maybe even xp pen, at the same price as this you get so much more with them. Wacom isn´t that top notch as it used to be, it´s become kinda like apple. You don´t pay for the product but for the name. And that´s honestly kinda sad to see.
Wacom has definitely become apple, that will be even more obvious when the rest catch up next year, I got my xp-pen 15.6 pro on sale (30% off) wacom one just cant compete with that, even at full price I wouldn't of bought the one over the 15.6pro

I mean Wacom removed some of the most important (at least in my humble opinion) features a modern drawing-monitor needs, like bonded-/laminated-glass! Without this the air-gap between the glass and the actual screen causes more cursor-offset (from the tip of the stylus)...I'd like a comparison of that and other similar sized drawing-screens as without this if you laud Wacom you are at best a fanboy and a payed shill at worst!

Wacom is just the benchmark hardware for digital art and design and that for years! I can't imagine to work with another hardware!

I think Huion Kamvas pro 16 would be a better option because it has a bigger screen, more pressure levels, a laminated display which reduces parallax(the gap between the outer layer where you draw on and the screen itself) for a more natural drawing experience. Just don't download the beta drivers. If you want something as the same size as the wacom one go for Kamvas 13 pro and its a $150 cheaper for the 2020 version if you preorder

I generally sketch on paper with ink, but I do use an old wacom graphire to do basic digital writing on occasion. This one looks interesting to me as a replacement for my aging graphire. I like how portable it is. Thanks for the great review. I'll be following you.

I need one I love drawing
I have a XP-Pen Artist 13.3 Pro drawing display 13.3" supports the digital pen so I can draw on screen, draw and design using Photoshop, Krita, Clip Studio Paint, even do 3D modeling.
It's as good as the Wacom One 13" for drawing.
I feel like it should be a no brainer that the best beginner digital screen tablet is the entry level iPad. I mean at $329 + the $99 Apple Pencil, it’s comparable in price to tablets like the Wacom One, except you’re also getting a full fledged iPad on top of it, not to mention its much more portable. Plus, it’s only $10 for procreate vs $50 for clip studio (or much, much more for photoshop). I’d say the only reason to go for a drawing tablet instead of an iPad would be if you’re interested in animation, 3d modeling, or you just really really love desktop drawing software. That’s for beginners of course. If you’re willing to shell out thousands, I find the high end screen tablets with massive screen real estate do have a lot to offer.
Being disabled I could only enjoy the Wacom through your channel. It's all good pen and paper has done me right. I don't do social media per my disability. Ill subscribe and like. As far as art it's been therapeutic in my life a visual representation of my imagination, spirituality and abstract mind. I started with water color, then photography and back to pen paper. I have done digital art on my mobile phone I love it.
Great review on the market for tablets I can use with my desktop. Love your style I need to learn more about the software you are using. I love using Serif Affinity apps for drawing vector and digital illustration. I can use this tablet as a focus display while I can use my main monitor as an app or web design preview for SketchApp and Xd.
