Matt, Why Do You scream higher than album version? Is it more comfortable to scream?
Probably because he's just by himself. Corey does most of the gutteral backing vocals, while Paolo does the sung parts. I think constantly screaming like that is what messed up Matt's voice in the first place. Glad his voice is back now.
It's the new technique. His old technique was more of a shouted scream than fry, and was mostly mids.

he does this at home so he doesnt strain his voice. pretty sure he said he goes all out only for recording and touring
@@sectordexter4345 He does his old technique only for recording, he does the new safe technique at home and on tour, he would blow out his voice again if he screamed how he used to on tour

Is it just me or does it seem like he is really not projecting when singing clean? I know he has to "save" his voice a bit for shows, but I feel like singing quietly during practice would be a bad habit as you're not exercising the diaphragm properly on a regular basis.

Lower mids are generally the hardest on your voice. Any lower and you can cookie-monster it, any higher, and a wide-mouthed fry works really well
