I remember this like it was yesterday, my whole family went crazy. Hell of a time!
Mine did too. I was in the bathroom and they screaming at the top of their lungs
I was extremely pissed. Me and my father watched it together (lifelong Duke fans, both of us). This play should have been blown dead at least 2 times. Absolute travesty to this day
@@ddotcombs33why it was a clean block and he didn’t have control when he fumbled therefore a live ball.
@@itzjakedawgttvyt3749because the dude was literally down not to mention the penalties like players and coaches coming onto the field too early or taking off their helmets before the play was dead
I do too. I loved it. Karma for all of the bs calls they get on the basketball court.
Never thought I would see the great Miami U having to go through these lengths to beat the Duke football team lol
Lmfao I swear man smh
Duke was actually a respectable team in 2015
@@rayray33aoc Man we're reminiscing on the days of The U... do you remember those days? Ray Lewis, Ed Reed later on, etc
Wow well said man
😂😂😂💀💀 Different Times lol
Their is something about Miami sports teams and laterals that go together so well
Like why are their so many Miami miracles
There
Commentator: "They practiced that on Wednesday" 😂😂😂😂
Allen Bestwick. Emphasis on Best. He is the best.
Bestwick could describe a paper cup blowing in the wind and make it entertaining and informative.
When you play to win sometimes it's not pretty. You just witnessed Gridiron Football revert to it's origins (Rugby).
@UCqDjVtGTHrwFtAQuzqY7oMA no it didn't you idiot 🤣🤣🤣
The pure joy and excitement coming from the Canes’ sideline is awesome to watch.
As a rugby player this is hilarious to watch
Oh god😂
"A lot of rugby going on here" righto commentator bloke lol
The two Miami miracles Nfl and this that was amazing
The facts they both had to use laterals too!
There were multiple missed calls that the league apologized for not calling during the game. It should have been a duke victory. From knee down to illegal blocks.
That ref is a Miami fan
All my life, I waited for a moment like this
This was a crazy moment, but for me personally because I know how great Miami use to be, this was also just as sad as good. A Miami Hurricane football team needed a miracle play to beat Duke in football. On top of that this Miami team wasn't very good either. Duke really should have won this game. Miami has not been "THE U" since about 2004 around the time Brock Berlin took over as signal caller. The same time Miami left the Big East for the ACC also. I still can't get used to Miami being fitted by Adidas either. Not the same program I grew up on.
The orange bowl being torn down was the nail in the coffin too
Well his knee hit the ground should’ve been ball game but epic play
Miami Hurricanes: Nobody could ever top this!!
Kenyan Drake: Hold my Beer

This play shouldn’t even had been a td because there was some missed flags and if you look at 2:04 you can see he is down
TomIscoolTV you have to have full possession of the ball the ball was coming out
That might be the greatest play I've ever seen in football
One of the most exciting for sure!
I like the fact that they were able to decide that it wasn’t a block in the back through replay. I wish the NFL did that

@@Imasacking77 nah they were easily down. Anyone with working eyes can see that.
if you freeze frame at 0:36 his knee was down before the lateral..even at 0:48 illegal block in the back by number 22 on number 37..That whole play was full on penalties
You know... The replay official has way more angles to look at then you do and much better technology for freezing the frame.
Still they missed the knee and the block in the back 100%
@@ramspencer5492 No amount of angles makes the block on duke #37 at 0:48 not a block in the back. There were at least two other illegal blocks that should've ended the game in this video
@@milmil6594 no the ball was coming out when his knee hit the ground that's not clear enough to call it a dead ball
not a block in the back at all and you chose 36 seconds as ur deciding factor there another replay the ball is moving as he's on his way down he's in the motion of throwing it back
One of the best ( it ain't over until it's over) games since d rose career 50pt game salute💯
2:20 Sooo No One Is Gonna Talk About How Number 1 Just Threw Him Down Lol 😅💪🏾💪🏾 I don’t watch football at all and I watched this maybe literally 30 times back to back 😂
And no one saw Miami #11 run onto the field before the runner crossed the line
and you can tell he was worried when he looked up and saw flags ..pretty sure he was sweating bullets in the endzone after he looked that the play was under review
1:14 hulk hogan in the stands lol
It looks like his knee was down at about 0:36 when he chucked the ball backwards (look at it in slow-motion). It's just too much to ask any officiating crew to pick apart everything in a play like that. Anyway, you do what you got to do.
Yes correct, the knee touched before the release of the ball. They show it at another angle at 2:01.
0:36 Slow this down to .25 speed and the runner is clearly down with control of the ball before he laterals backwards.
How you not gonna call a flag on dude on the sidelines running on the field with his helmet off while the play was still going on at the very end??? Lol 🤷🏾♂️🤣
Exactly
Would not take the play back
That’s petty
That wouldn’t have changed the play
At :36 his knee was down 😅🤣
agreed
#22 doing a cartwheel into a backflip on the logo is way too funny 😂
It really sucks that even though the ACC apologized for missing multiple calls on this play and it shouldn't have counted as a touchdown, ESPN and others will replay it like it was an amazing non-controversial, game-winning highlight.
equilibriums what were the calls that were missed??
right the fact they missed those calls are just bad tbh
Espn is showing the game winning laterals... Controversy or not the play happened and i wanna see it... Youre obviously a duke fan.. Take your feelings else where

You're absolutely correct.. & the fact of the matter is, that the play should've ended at their own 25 yd line.

Definitely block in the back...(Edit version) take a look at 2:29 and replay it I thought for sure it look like a block in the back. But it's just the angle, he alinged the hit on his side so it is legal

@@CoutureThug That's not a block in the back, he hit him from the side of the shoulder...
@@coryr9938 no he didn't I don't know what you are looking at he clearly blocked him in the back. The refs even apologized for missing that one the other was a block from the side but they completely missed the one I'm talking about
Not one block in the back yall trippin
This play is infamously known for being some of the worst reffing of all time. Just google it. There is review evidence showing the knee down. There is review evidence of multiple blocks in the back. There is review evidence of a player entering the field without a helmet thus negating the play. Lastly, the refs on the field called illegal block in the back and reviewed it and overturned. That isn't allowed by rule. You can't review that penalty at that time (I'm sure penalties at the end of games will become reviewable at sometime in the future). The NCAA officially said this play was reffed incorrectly. That is all.
bro really no need to look up nothing you can see it lmao 4 wrong calls look like 5
Must must go to duke hater
@@bobbybaker5351 Nah. I am just a big hater of horrible reffing. I watched the Packers-Seahawks game during the referee lockout and after that it just makes my blood boil that a team can play there hardest for 60 minutes and a moron in a black hat can just fuck it all up for them.
@@callofbryan2252 True. Just sort of surprised by the amount of people who are defending the play in the comments.
I didnt see a knee down, there was maybe one questionable block and the player without the helmet on...well there was no way duke would stop that play so why the hell not. Poorly reffed or not Duke should have never allowed this play to happen since teams have like a .1 percent chance to succeed.
Right knee was down at :37 while the ball was still in his hand. Also, there was a clip (illegal block) on the 25 yd line toward the end. Bad non-calls. Whatever, looked like fun.
Those Miami Uni forms were 🔥🔥
I’m no Duke fan, in fact I don’t really follow football that much anymore....but why is hardly anyone talking about the several blatantly illegal blocks? For instance, the block from the back at 0:49. I’m just saying, for the ones who are saying that all these plays were legal (thankfully there aren’t that many in the comment section who think that)... the refs were literally suspended.
Every time I rewatched it I saw another block in the back 😂 incredible not one of them were called
Shoutout to The LeBatard Show 😂😂😂
"On Sunday (2015), the ACC announced that the on-field officiating crew, the replay official and the communicator have all been suspended. In a statement, the league admitted that a Miami runner was indeed down, and that the game should have ended before the Hurricanes reached the endzone. The league also noted that officials missed an illegal block in the back on Miami’s 16-yard line, as well as a dead ball foul after a Miami player ran on the field of play from the sideline."
Why r u so pressed u a mad Duke fan from 5 yrs ago. It was a good play fun to watch idk why people hate on it so much. Yes it shouldn't have counted but that's what makes it even more miraculous.

Reminds me of the Miami Hurricanes game when they laterled it so many times and scored the td to win the game.
Always liked Larry Scott. He needs to come back to The U. Stand up Coach and connects with these young men.
Should have been retained. I believe he got the last laugh, as UNC has owned my Canes for quite a while.
Miami had 13 players on the field before the play was even over, plus 3 holdings and 2 blocks in the back, the fact that Duke coach even shook hands after that says something for his character
Alr guy where r the 3 holdings i rewatched and none even grabbed the other team they only lowered the shoulder
This happens every play. They don’t have 22 refs out there.. and they go by the human eyes call… it’s just not convenient for you because if duke did this to Miami you would not bring any of that up. It’s cool I’m like that with the hawks but don’t act like this is a perfect game and bs calls are called or good ones missed… at most levels the higher, the worse… 🧠 use it
if Duke had been called for their penalties properly that game, Miami wouldn't have needed this play to win in the first place lmfao

Everyone so quick to judge this moment but everyone forgets the BS pass interference calls that got Duke down the field to score in the first place and the fact that the Duke Qb didn’t even cross the goal line.
calls were going both ways, late in the 4th cutt is watching your coverage, knowing when players over exert on a play or take themselves out of position, defensively. That’s why you get thOSE PI calls.
And i have footage from my phone. was on the goal line for that drive. The cam angles were not perfect. But i have proof he broke the end zone.
3:19 what is that duke player doing to the other one😂😂😂
If you slow the video down, the runners knee hit the ground at the 25 yard line before the lateral was thrown.. That TD should have been called back.
so are we all going to ignore the obvious block in the back at 49s on this video??? It's right in the middle of the screen, #22 Miami hits #37 directly in the back. The refs should be fired...

All the blocks are fkn crazy
Freeze the video at 2:05 seconds you won’t believe that duke won🤷♀️
Never understood why teams don't just inside kick it if the clock is low enough. The play is 99% gonna end with a ball scramble
I dont care about either team but 2 of those errors wouldn't have changed the TD. The first block in the back isn't indisputable. The knee down is the only one that *could* be considered an error. You'd have to really analyze if the ball had, even by the slimmest margin, left his hand. Even that would probably end up as just the ruling on the field standing, but not confirmed.
This is the greatest college football player of all time
Officials absolutely gacked this one. Forget everything else (which was all judgement calls and close on instant replay) you can't use replay to overturn an illegal block in the back penalty. Full stop.
