I know this comment is 4 years old , but I had this type of experience when Miami beat Georgia Tech in 2017. I was at that game and I needed help leaving the stadium due to how emotionally and physically spent I was by the end of the game. Still I'm sure there is no comparison to the OB.
When you look back on it years later, maybe the last, true, authentic regular season classic that you couldn’t predict was going to happen but you appreciate it for how great of a game it was!

Miami should've won some more championships. Game against Ohio State in overtime knocking down the pass, game against Nebraska leading in the forth quarter, and even the game against Penn State ,with Testaverde turning the ball over 5 times still had a chance to win that championship. Sugar bowl game against Alabama wasn't close, but they were ranked #1 going into the game and would've won another championship if they had won.
I'm a Miami fan. If that kicker would've made that FG, that would have upset us at home. That could have given our players a big knock on their confidence.
I'm a southern California native but this game was always on in my house. Some of the best college football games ever played was between these two schools. I miss the Orange Bowl too.

Miami was clearly more talented, but FSU controlled much of the game with their defense and a bruising running game behind Greg Jones. Florida was ranked #1 by a few publications in 1984 and 1985 as well. Florida has won more games since 1990 than any other team in college football. Even in Miami's great 20 year run they had a losing season (1997 they went 5-6), Florida's last losing season was 1979(34 years ago). Miami had a great 20 year run. They were horrible before 1980, 41-66 for the 1970's. No bowl games from 1967-1980, 8 bowl games from 1926-1980, record 3-5.
What a great game but honestly they should of never had a chance for the field goal since FSU fumbled earlier. I'm still catching my breath with the field goal attempt, ha.
PK Sam fumbled the ball, and thus the field goal should have never been tried. The Hurricanes almost got jobbed again against FSU. The good guys survived this time

Dorsey more than deserved the award for the '01 season! He got robbed!! Eric Crouch got his ass handed to I'm, he was not even a factor in the NC Title game! The Canes HC at the time, Larry Coker, was a very humble and compassionate man, he called the dogs off after the first half!!
