- I've always found this concept to be weird, but it's a popular trope that I've seen a lot of. Due to a mishap while making a wish, Goku and Chi-Chi accidentally wished for Shenron to turn her into a Saiyan. How did they mess this up, and what happens next? Possibly the best character to change into a saiyan, it changes Chi-Chi from a character that exists in Z to annoy and hold the main cast back to making her part of said main cast she normally holds back.
Chi-Chi's character assassination in Z is almost as bad as the lobotomy Videl got for super.

Honestly Chichi. while annoying, never really bothered me too much. The plot ultimately just became too saiyan-centered that all the humans, and even Piccolo, fell to the wayside. Chichi being there would just be another body to add to the pile.
Toriyama is apparently bad at writing romance of any kind, and I guess that is the excuse used whenever someone brings up your point. But I agree with you, if he is so bad at writing it, why add romance at all? Its not necissary to a show that's about fighting and talking about fighting.

It's been said that Chi Chi is the only person that Goku truly fears. No matter what they've shown how much they love each other. I think that Chi Chi does better than many others would do being married to Goku.

I believe the training chi-chi and goku did during the year before the saiyan’s arrived would have actually made them stronger than canon because whis later in the series admits that the best way for a sayain to grow in power is to spar with another sayain
I could see Saiyan Chi-Chi being more chill, respecting her husband's love of combat, since she would have it herself. And, knowing the gap of speed between humans and saiyans, would understand and accept Gohan's balance between education and training.

The pun that is the entire catalyst for this story does not translate to Japanese. Pretty sure the Japanese word for "saying" sounds nothing like the word "Saiyajin".

Eh, Japanese Wordplay can definitely create a Saiyan Chichi
A simple pun spawning a two and a half hour long conversation. This might be the most realistic DBZ 'what if' I've seen.
One other idea of how Chi-Chi could become a Saiyan, would be during the Pilaf arc. After her first meeting with Goku, she follows them. Perhaps even gets a little help from Yamcha and Puar. After Boss Rabbit and capture by Pilaf, she would be the one to steal Pilaf's wish instead of Oolong. And her wish... to become the perfect wife for Goku. Of course, the dragon makes her a Saiyan, a perfect mate for a male Saiyan. She would keep her tail hidden from view, until the tournament during the Ma Junior arc.
If someone where to do a what if like this but replace chichi with krillen you could do the same thing and just make it krillens desire to catch up

I feel bad for Vegeta in a way. To me, I feel like he was trying to learn Chi-Chi's Saiyan name in a way to treat her with respect and to honour their people. At least thats what it felt like to me

No way. Toriyama is very very prone to buffing just a few characters and aside from one time, Goku *always* gets the W.
I love how in every one of these stories I've listened to, whether it's from you or any other creator, it seems like all it takes is just one more dedicated fighter in the Z Fighters to drastically alter events and power up the entire team over the course of the series.
If Shenron can bring the dead back to life then him changing someone else into another species shouldnt be hard for him at all.
So someone could basically become an actual real furry basically. If they wanted to.

From the mouth of Frieza, he was both a prodigy and an anomaly. Most of their species are rather weak by the time of Frieza showing up, plus he was a clone of his dad that was improved from the base stock. He was literally designed better.
Still, they have amazing abilities. It’s not a bad choice.
Honestly Picollo gaining Kaioken here is one of the best things in this what if. Kaoiken is an amazing technique that is really underused in Dragonball. Giving it to somebody like Picollo who already is a person without Forms just elevates the form. I now just imagine a What if where somehow somebody Like buu learns kaoiken. If he somehow masters it = no strain kaoiken. Just Imagine ur fighting somebody and they suddenly scream Kaoiken! Times *10000000*

So basically Goku’s lack of understanding caused a wish to make Chi-Chi a Saiyan sounds like something that would happen.
This is what makes this scenario posible, Goku's lack of common sense, but granted, he wouldn't know what a saiyan is so yeah, it will be both of them fault
But its a beautiful accident, Chichi gaining the Saiyan Battle spirit makes her quite a different character, not to mention, she is Actually very inteligent

I really love what you did with Kaioken in this series. Probably one of the most underused techniques in Dragon Ball.
Maybe not the most underused, but one of the most underused yet useful abilities in DB.
Another one is the Kienzan. I know Krillin and others did use it pretty often, but I don't think it was ever used to its fullest potential. It's such a useful ability, to condense ki into a blade so that a weaker fighter can have a chance at defeating a much stronger one. Imagine if they tried to refine it so that it was more powerful? Maybe they could develop it to the point where it could even counteract regeneration. That would mean that even Krillin would be a threat to Cell and Buu. Granted, he'd still be far too slow to hit them, and they could easily one-shot him with a look. But he'd at least be able to force them to pay attention to him, which can prove useful to help the heavy hitters gain a tactical advantage.
And that's something that I feel is sorely missing from DBZ and DBS, technique and tactics. There's not that much teamwork, and oftentimes, battles end up being a case of who's stronger. Techniques and tactics don't really matter if your opponent is significantly stronger than you. More fighters using Kaioken, maybe developing their own unique variants of it, along with developing techniques like the Kienzan, can help bring tactics and technique back into the fray.
Maybe Vegeta swallows his pride and learns the Kienzan from Krillin (let's just forget that he can immediately use it after just watching Krillin do it once, because that's much less interesting). And then he develops his own version which basically condenses his siayan aura into an energy sword. His version would be specialized for hand to hand encounters, but it makes it much harder to evade. Maybe Tien can develop his version to be nigh invisible to the senses, but it's much slower and requires his active input. This leaves him more open when he's using it, but also makes it harder to evade. Imagine Piccolo making his version Hellzone Kienzan!
Oh the possibilities!
Oh, and lets not forget the Taioken. I can see an evolution of it where it also blinds the ability to sense Ki, as well as sight and maybe even hearing. Or a variant where it's strong enough to permanently damage eyesight, even for those who can regenerate.
There's only so many ways to throw a ki blast, so these techniques with clearly different looks and usage are just interesting.
@@ShadeSlayer1911 I agree with just about everything you said. Another thing I kind of feel was thrown to the wayside too early as well was the Great Ape form. Goku didn’t even get to learn to use the form before Super Saiyan came along, Vegeta only used it once and we never saw any other living Saiyans use it in the series. Although GT was mostly not good, I like that it brought back the great ape form from original dragon ball. Maybe Toyriyama thought Great Ape battles would be boring but Attack on Titan basically showed monster fights can be entertaining and just as technical as normal fights.

Also the makankopotomus, or special beam cannon. Piccolo used it once, to my recollection, at least in the manga. Charging an ability for a long time to make it significantly stronger than what the user can normally output. This gives more ways for weaker fighters to remain relevant. Imagine using kaioken the instant before firing it.

I just realized that Gohan would still be a half Saiyan, while Goten would be a full blooded Saiyan. Kinda weird to think about that, actually.
I love how Goten's and Chi Chi's tail turn golden and blue based on their form, it's a little detail I always notice.
And the Piccolo/Vegeta teaming is the best thing in this What If, immagine it in the official anime story!
This is a rather interesting story. It trades 18's involvement in the story for Chi-Chi and actually gives her some real character and connection to events as they take place. However, a part of me is bummed by the idea of Vegeta getting Kaio-Ken instead of Goku, but I like the idea of Vegeta being far stronger. The ideal rivalry is for the protagonist to be slightly weaker than their rival, but off-sets this through tactics, techniques and ingenuity. Either way, hard for me to choose between which What-If I like more, Saiyan Chi-Chi or if Bulma and Goku married. Tough choice.
Saiyan Chichi doesn't make any sense, since saiyans are quite fist-happy and she's not plus she's human and there's honestly no changing that.

gohan’s motivation from the beginning(in the manga) was always to become a scholar, chichi grooming him for that was added in the anime, which negatively affects both her and gohan’s characters

what if vegeta wished for immortality after the buu saga?
what if frieza listened to goku in ressurection f?
what if beerus woke up 4 years early?
what if goku lost to bergamo in the zeno expo?
what if goku got ultra ego and vegeta got ultra instinct?
So with frieza goku just stops playobg around and dominates frieza then offering the choice after he talks about him being a great sparring partner. This mean frieza slowly becomes good and doesnt die, but now we need another villain to take friezas slot as the golden transformation villian, maybe cooler or king cold, actually cell would be a good fit to replace frieza.
Vegeta probably would wish for that, he could just regenerate and become stronger than goku to the point where has too overpowered.

Goku losing would actually make him more motivated to train so he would be stronger but that wouldn't change much

I think a setup that would make more sense is that Goku & Chi-Chi are unable to get pregnant due to being different species and they ask Shenron to make it possible for them to have a child. This transforms Chi-Chi into a Saiyan so they are now biologically compatible.
If we’re going by that logic there’s no trunks either. And that wouldn’t make for a good Dbz tbh
They’d likely have Goku turn into a Human then though. Because Chi Chi wouldn’t want a potential child of theirs to not be able to have children. And they didn’t know anything about Saiyans either. They’d likely say something like “I wish that Goku was Human”.
I suppose you could say “I wish that Goku and I were genetically able to have children”, which could theoretically end with a Saiyan Chi Chi, but that wording would have to be very specific and Shenron would have to interpret it a specific way to get to that result.
Trunks wouldn’t exist though. And Gohan and eventually Goten wouldn’t be able to have children with anyone without using the Dragon Balls. So that’s pretty concerning.
You know I finally capture the greatest problem in Salad Saiyan's what ifs, it's simply because he defuses all situations by making all characters stronger by "training harder", and thus conflict ends up meaningless most of the time.
I mean , most what ifs Idea makes immediatly makes sense on why people would be stronger , and its snowball harder , especially buu saga that needs a lot of thing to go right for it to happen

@@Gopherzooka I mean, the wish was turn her in the same thing as Goku. Maybe Shenron used Goku as base, so while she is a Saiyan, she also has all his innate potential. It makes sense that she keeps around his same level all the way.

A lot of people assume that becoming a saiyan is all about the innate strength or turning Super Saiyan, but you also would remain in your prime age and be more durable overall. Also, just being saiyan won't make automatically make you more prone to fighting or just being like Goku or Vegeta. That's more to do with their upbringing and their own personalities. We see saiyans that are nothing like that.

My only gripe is that Vegeta thought pure Saiyans were the best, he wouldn’t think a half-Saiyan would be more powerful over a full blooded one. The fact that they would be disappointed in a full saiyan woman is completely wrong. It would allow them to repopulate the saiyan race naturally.

@@tazukiredblood2072 for the sake of discussion let’s say the scenario begins at the beginning of the Saiyan Saga right after the death of Goku as Raditz was more powerful than anything they believed possible and Goku died, with Piccolo (and the Dragonballs) nearly going as well. Dr Gero had his spy drones active for all of the Saiyan Saga, meaning any gains they get between Raditz and Vegeta arriving would be told to Gero, who would simply make the Androids stronger. Gero based the androids ok fighting a Goku who was getting the same gains as he got between his death and revival, who was at 8,000. If the Earthlings kill the Saiyans with Piccolo amd Chaiutzu surviving, they don’t go to Namek, everyone dies due to Gero. They go to Namek and slap Frieza with a destructo disk then they’re still to weak to kill the Androids. Another way to start this is if Goku and chichi had problems having kids. They went to a doctor and found out Goku was not genetically compatible with humans. So they fixed that using Shenron. That also means they might have gone to Bulma for help too.
Wouldn’t they just turn Goku into a Human though? Seems like more of a reasonable solution there than turning Chi Chi into a Saiyan, which they don’t know anything about at that point. Plus, they wouldn’t want a Saiyan child if Saiyans can’t mate with Humans; Chi Chi would want their child being a Human so that she could have grandbabies.
I can only imagine the issues the Z-Fighters would face in the series if Goku had been turned into a Human. Though I suppose it could’ve made Dragon Ball more of an underdog series about how humility and hard work and love helps Goku succeed.
The problem is Gohan would be a pure blooded saiyan

They only transform during a FULL moon. A full moon is Sun light reflecting off the moon when it's at just the right position in its orbit. That's why we have lunar phases. On planet Vegeta, their full moon occurs once in every 800 years compared to earth's once a month. I think Vegeta himself explains that the false moon technique gives off the same energy as a full moon. So unless they stay on the dark side of the moon (the side opposite of the sun) they shouldn't transform.

She is wholesome and she is also the most realistic mom in the show. Chi-Chi is still one of my personal favorites, Toriyama just doesn't know how to write female characters well. I love that tiger mom mentality she has and she wants the best for her husband and kids. She just wants them to be more safe and the well being for her children... Like any actual loving mother. There is nothing wrong with that, and there is nothing wrong with her being probably the most realistic mother in the show. She doesn't mind Goku training or her sons training, but she doesn't want them to die...She definitely doesn't want Goku to die. That is wholesome, why would a wife who loves her husband dearly want her husband to constantly be in near death fights for the sake of it.. even if it's justified to do so sometimes. If hit actually killed Goku and he died a third time.. He wouldn't be able to come back. Chi-Chi would actually be completely heart broken...Like any actual loving wife? His family would be too.
My point is... She is the most realistic character, giving what Goku gets involved in... It's only natural she'd want Goku at home more and to be more 'normal" like Gohan/Goten. She doesn't mind him training, just wants them all more safer
