I tried the controller several times to play WoW in the past, but recently I went back and redownloaded Console Port from Curse gaming and it works better than WoW in game controller support. Oh and the amount of buttons is not a problem. You have 40 buttons , to include 10 face with "A" for jump , then Shift, Ctrl or Shift+Ctrl that adds 30 more buttons, so a controller is NOT just for casual gaming and imo because it dumps the dated tab targeting that Mouse and KB users are sometimes forced to use. You target players and NPCs with your reticle, like EVERY RPG, ACTION ADVENTURE GAME ON ANY SYSTEM. lol I also heal with Heal Bot addon in conjuction with console port. There is a lot of misinformation being put out about how controllers with WoW work and how viable they are. I mean using a little common sense with research, you will know that FF14 is made to use a controller and ESO is also on consoles as well and the former is way more button intensive than Wow. I suggest you try learning how to make macros as well, it helps if you do run out of buttons, which you won't. What I suggest is next time you raid, do M+ or even PvP, set up a camera and watch how many "different buttons" for abilities you actually press. I promise it's not more than the 40 you get as default through console port and if for some reason it is (it won't be) I played 65 characters of variable race and class combos and I have yet to run out of buttons. Look up how to macro 2 abilities on the same button. I use "cast sequence" macros for like abilities like charge and hamstring for instance. That alone frees up a button and it's easy to do. I only touch my KB to chat, which is like never. The people I chat with are on discord, so I never type, but if I did that is the only time I touch my KB. Controller is master race and I will never play WoW again with a M&KB, I mean why would you?
How does it work for interacting with NPCs to accept quests/pick up quest items from the ground? What about going through menus for like queueing for a dungeon?
Dang, that addon looks awesome. I'm coming back since I ran outta stuff in DF to do solo so I'm coming back now that they have started offering more solo content. I'll definitely have to give a controller a try as sometimes I just need a break from a mouse. Thanks!

You can also use controllers with back paddles/buttons for even more buttons
