You're right about the keyboard, it sucks. It was an experimental thing. I'm mainly just proud of the autocomplete algorithm, because that shit is hard to work out inside a game without any AI training.
Thank you for making one of the best addons ever. I use console port in retail and just started using it in tbc.
Being able to play WoW with a controller is the only way I can play, thank you for making this possible for Classic Warcraft!
Also I have to say, the keyboard does not suck, it allows some people the only way to type, could it be improved, maybe, but it is far from sucky!!

I do this regularly, i would recommend an add on called Immersion with it as well. Makes the UI a lot more console like when you are grabbing quests etc.

something like /console actioncamera full (in wow client itself), i forget. for example it slightly adjusts your camera when you target a mob.
there are a couple of options there as well. with that, it basically feels like a console game.

Very impressive addon. I think it's really quite a shame that Blizzard never leaned all the way into console support. Other MMOs in this category have great console support. From what I understand, there are some great new controller features coming in Dragonflight, including easier targeting, auto-accept quests, "interact" hotkeys, etc.

Got my Rogue to rival in season 1 and 2 with a controller, it's pretty fun.
Those ring keyboards like this addon has can actually get pretty high wpm typing if you are practiced enough.
Its for sure is better than most other controller keyboard options i saw.
in FF14 controller setup , we can filter our target to (my own filter sett).NPC only(L+Square), Player Only(L+triangle), Enemy only(L+Circle), Alliance member(L+Xcross), dpad Up and Down are default for party member, Dpad Left and Right are for Furthers and Nearest target range.
Our hot bar are mainly focus on holding the trigger button.
RT for first 16 hotbar,
LT for 2nd 16 hotbar,
double tap and Hold RT for 3rd 16 hotbar,
Double tap and Hold LT for 4th 16 hotbar. and
combination of LT to RT hold is 5th 16 hotbar.
Combination RT to LT HOld is the 6th 16 HOtbar.
L+ Right Analog, up and down is camera zoom.
default circle is confirm, Triangle jump, Square Map, Xross Cancel.
With WOW controller add on, how you guys gonna focus on damage and healing. and target enemy/party members if Dpad button default is skill?, hopefully the Wow controller support for console release can generate something similar to FF14 , by utilizing the button and combination of Trigger button.

The interaction key binding is by default turn off. You have too manually turn it on. And know you mouse free. It will auto target loot, skinning, mining and questing object like a real consol game
I found it kind of funny that you decided to use LB for targeting, so did I xD
I can raid and regularly pvp in wotlk and retail. Its definitely a handicap moving from sticks to buttons. But its super playable and a lit more enjoyable from the couch.
Looks like it is almost good. I really want something that works a lot like ffxiv’s controller gameplay. No left or right mouse click needed.
Now I wonder if this add on will be updated for Dragonflight as an interact key has been added, meaning it’d be a step closer - once again left / right click is silly, just need an interact / cancel button A / B
seems to not work with Dominos...you can only really bind action bar 1, every other button (dominos bar 2,3,4 etc) has the same binding (eg. bar 1 button 1 is A, then bar 2 button 1 is also A)

I played with controller as feral through Legion. Was able to perform well in keys up to +10s. Didn't want to push higher, but you definitely can play high tier content with a properly configured setup.
This was my dream to play wow on console because I always had to use my grandpas pc and acc if I wanted to play so I always imagined playing wow when I played Skyrim on ps3
heres the trouble for me .... the dialog stick does not work after the set ups sometimes the right stick works with camera just like anything else then clicks to direction circle did i miss something ? the other buttons np at all its just the movement left stick i assume thank you!

How do you make your auto attack stop firing when you auto target with vision ? I keep aggro mobs in dungeon by mistake without casting or pulling any buttons and it's very annoying. Thanks a lot :)

for a casual player experience, playing with a controller was amazing.
but i felt the lack of binds.
Like, Deathcoil, Fear, Curse of exhaustion(Pet Spell Lock, Devourer) take up 20 binds on their own.
To play pvp on a warlock, wouldn't be feasible at all, with a controller.
You get up to 40 binds if you unwind jump.
I would like to see a sofa raiding guilde.
What do you set to pick up quests and loot, interact is L3 but does nothing unless to npc is clicked on loot does not work , i can click l3 if the mouse was over my player then l3 to pick up quess.

I used reWASD in GW2 and it worked very well with melee class in action mode.
For gw2 i used xpadder and that worked pretty well, it is a bit confusing to setup but there are plenty of guides for it
Thanks guys, I actually use Joy2Keys for remapping to controller and it works well too! My question is how to change the interface for the controller layout. He mentioned that he can use the same layout from this video on GW2 and that would be amazing if we can see what skill is on what controller key! My only problem playing with controller is that on my screen my skills 1-0 show number/keyboard keys and not controller keys which is kinda hard to keep track of which controller key is what skills!

How do you fly on a flying mount with controller? Every time I try my mount just jumps
You must be in a area that you haven't unlocked flying or your using the wrong flying mount in Dragon isles, my flying works perfect not 1 problem yet

I just got this, for aoe spells when you select it the green ring will appear in the middle where that little plus is on the center. Then simply moving your angle view with both joy stick you can easily move the green circle where ever you want. Then just hit the spell button to cast once you have green circle where you want it.
is this available for retail?
I didnt grow up with a pc in my house so I stink with mouse and keyboard. I still click abilities. I'm a master on controller I may try this
same here and i find if i use keybinds the game is not as interesting and get bored so much faster opposed to clicking but i wont try this cause WoW is in the shitter anyway

I’m late to the party. But Finally giving the mod a shot. So far not a great start. It’s a little dated since blizzards latest updates but still relatively functional. But as a first time installer I’m having a really hard time getting the aetup the way I want it to make it as natural as possible.
Mainly, I. Need to know how you got it to actually Obey and NOT show the default finger cursor on screen while actually playing because as is. The camera is still 100% following the games default cursor on my end and ignoring the new crosshair.
Second annoying issue I’m having is just getting some skills to actually register to the keyholes. I’m supposed to be able to drag and drop but that doesn’t always work
And last it is Really really annoying when I press either r1 or L1 and the immediate quick bind screen pops up because those buttons are supposedly empty needing a skill but I don’t want the quick bind to show up at All every time I press a bloody button
So far it’s not showing me any options to make it NOT do that either.

Never understood why wow couldn't be on a console
it's just impossible. If you a pvp player you'd be missing hotkeys/keybindings. No regular controller would cover the entire universe of spells/skills/potions/buffs/debuffs + regular keys and its combinations.
@@sirguroz Still should not be a reason why it's not. It may not be great for pvpers but you can play the game pretty easily. And It will literally bring more players.
And more players means they make more money. I'm sure Microsoft will at least try to make it as playable on console as possible.
imagine the quality of crossplay, WoW doesn't need that extra nail, even with a icon showing gamepad users...
You'd need separate arenas and whatnot, for obvious reasons

Default is L3 to left click and R3 to right click, but you can customize however.
Tried the addon but it doesent work with my ps5 controler, only that works is touchpad and thats it...

i played all of WoD with a controller on Rogue, Hunter, DK. Frost DK and outlaw rogue still feel decent with an xbox controller. kind of shitty with ground targeted aoe builds/classes though.
I love this add-on. But somehow I messed it up when I was tinkering with the settings. Now my ex-axis is backwards. When I want to turn the camera left with the controller, the camera turns right, and when I want to turn the camera right, the camera turns left.
Do you have any idea how I did this, and do you know how to fix it?
There is setting for panning speed, how fast you rotate the view. If you set them to 0, the camera will not move. And if you set to negative, camera gose reversed

True, I made a comment about Microsoft making wow playable on console or at least Xbox. And so many people were trying to sh*t on me saying I was dumb because how are you going to play it because there are not enough buttons. When FF14 has been on console for a long time now and has just as many spells. Some people are just dumb as hell.
Yall just think that cause Microsoft is gonna own blizzard despite multiple people at blizzard said its not happening nor do they have interest in putting it on console changing so many things in place to fit it but seriously Mythic+ isnt doable with a controller its a struggle and you only drag the team down tryna do it with a controller lol so unless they plan on making mythic+ some easy bs killing the fun of it i dont see it being on xbox. ff14 was built from the ground up to be on console thats what yall forget. Theres a reason so many mmos have never nor will ever be on console that yall clearly dont understand. All the MMOs that console has were built with console in mind.

There should be some. I raid as a rogue with the controller. I have RSI and wouldn’t be able to play otherwise. I’ve read some Reddit posts about folks having pretty good luck healing heroics with the Steam controller too. 🤘

This is great for pve like questing and dungeons. Raiding might be a bit sweaty though.
As for pvp? Oh no. This is a fine idea if you just want to relax, sit back, and just let the day melt away as you play with a friend or solo. But when it comes crunch time like battlegrounds, keyboard all the way. I am a healer/tanky player myself, tanking shouldn't be an issue, but healing may make me a learning curb.
But a big plus is when you plan to kill a day just killing wow, this is a must. I can definitely see myself just laying back and play the evening away. 12 hours on the game, easy.

This is best for dps and tanks can pull it off especially Blood Dk which is what I use. But healer oh hell no out of the question! You’re right bgs are sweaty which controller but it’s doable and fun.
Did better on controller than my m&kb with my frost dk in pvp.

Cursor doesn't move. It's reskinned as a crosshair and anchored at the center
Alternatively you can plug in a wireless mouse and keyboard and use them as a manual backup.
