- welcome back to my trucking and travel daily blog here on RUclips called this guy trucks. I have been a trucker for 10 years and in that time I have been an owner operator at least purchase operator and a company driver. I am currently in the owner operator for Swift Transportation. today we are going to talk about the angry grumpy old truckers that talk down on young people for trying to work in the trucking industry.
Hey man, thanks for taking a stance against people shitting on mental health. If it wasn't for finding your channel, & deciding to give trucking a shot, I don't think I'd be here. I was in a really low place jumping between bullshit jobs until I decided to go for a CDL.
Long time follower and enjoy your videos. I am one of the guys you inspired to get into trucking post Covid after loosing my previous job and I have been able to make a living for my family through trucking. Thank you.

Only caveat I would add is: truckers are like nurses: most aren't in it out of benevolence but rather middle-class existence.
I'm an angry trucker but only because everything is expensive. I miss getting a value meal under 10 dollars😢

The 2022 Freightliner Cascadia gets between 8.5 mpg and 9.4mpg when at max weight depending on the hills. When unladen it gets 9.4mpg to around 10.2mpg. The newer Cascadias in the fleet are averaging around 10.5mpg.
That's crazy that semi trucks get that good fuel economy. My pickup only gets about 13mpg.

Ahh interstate 80, I drove on that for most of my deliveries oddly enough. I moved on from being regional OTR, still got my class A CDL, I might just save up and buy a dump truck or something and be an owner operator or just do my own authority. Not sure yet. I certainly felt myself becoming more feral the more time I was out. But it was fun letting my imagination running a little wild, helps pass the time. Honestly all truckers are a little crazy, I'm a little crazy even before I got into it. Not too many people can deal with being alone. I lost some weight driving OTR sometimes I'd just get some water and fall asleep.
So now I'm not allowed to be physically attracted to TGT anymore? Man, trucking sucks.
I agree with you about automatics, they are just better on a daily basis. When I was younger I thought driving a manual made me a bad ass. Now I realize nobody cared, give me the auto and make my life easier.
Im going to school have to decide to whether to test in a manual or automatic. Seems like most of the trucks are automatic now?

@@jackson_68ok. My father-in-law is a safety manager and he says all there trucks are automatic and most people can't drive manual anymore.

I work at the fuel island in a pilot flying j. You wouldn't believe the shit I have to put up with from super truckers. I had one last night yelling at me about one of our toilets that had poop 💩 smeared on the back side of the toilet seat. What the he'll does that have to do with me working the fuel pumps. They even vent to our gals who work in our little breakfast restaurant who don't even work for the pilot j. We lease that to a independent contractor. These waitresses come to me complaining about supertruckers who complain to them.
Knowledge you cant learn in college! You would be an awesome teacher or instructor. Teaching common sense with no bullshit! Dealing with idiots on the road has got to be frustrating.

After putting in 40 years I still remember starting out. Boy, are you right about a kind word or a helping hand by an old timer. Looking back, I can clearly remember the positive influences, but the negatives have left me, thank goodness. Glad you got home time! I do like a manual and got my CDL with no transmission restrictions. With a manual, you have more "feel" for the truck. I I have been in a automatic longer than a manual. They a great! The manual is good only for oversize and heavy haul!
Not sure if you’d consider me a long time viewer but I’ve been around since the big wave of people came in from your Kicking a trainee off your truck video on your old channel; I love listening to your rants and I’m not even a trucker😂. I use to stop in on your random live streams like when you’d do late night ones and stuff but haven’t been able to catch any of your regular Sunday ones but almost always watch the reposts of them

I would block people like that too. Sometimes when I have been out here 6 weeks at a time my mental state can be kinda bad. But watching your videos makes me laugh and see that it's going to be alright. Keep them coming or I will meet you on fuel island!

Hey Josh, I wasn’t here for the last channel. But I know you always reference the fact that you ended up deleting it because you kept taking the time to reply to trolls and people being a dick to you. But sometimes it seems like you’re kind of going back to those ways sometimes. I’m not hating on you in any kind of way. I just would hate to see you get mad and delete your channel again over some people being stupid.
Sometimes I have to wonder if I'm the world's worst communicator. I've never deleted a channel because I was being trolled. That would be the weakest reason ever to delete a channel. I've always fired back against the stupid things some truckers say. It's one of the things people know me for. What I thought I said was I was being doxxed, threatened and even stalked on a regular basis and unfortunately I turned to heavy drinking to help cope with those things that caused me to have a mental breakdown of sorts on RUclips. If i said any of that was caused by trolling I completely understated what was actually happening.
I do go way back to the early days of Josh's old channel.
FYI that there was a "super trucker" who shall not be named who had his own YT channel and it seemed to be his mission to go after Josh. Every little thing Josh said or did this guy had a rotten comment about. It got so bad the guy was making comments about Josh's wife and his marriage including doxxing where his wife and kids lived !!
I know this really upset Josh and I think that more than anything is what caused problems (I know it would for me if I was in his shoes).
Josh and the "super trucker" finally declared a truce and then Josh sadly in a fit of rage deleted his old channel.
I'm glad that he's come back.
