Great video, got to part where you can't find screws, looked at your video and saw 6 under keyboard, removed them cleaned it all out and reversed the assembly. All done without any fuss. Many thanks for your video and knowledge.

Hi, my laptop has a broken audio jack and I was wondering 1.) how much will a new part cost 2.) will I need to use a soldering iron. And 3.) do you have any tutorials on how to replace an audio jack?

@dpcomputing: Thanks for the video! I have a question! I got the c850d PSCC2C-012003 for free out of a dumpster! It works BUT the battery does NOT charge. I know it's not the battery because i have the same battery and laptop as well, and both batteries work. Both batts are not recognized by windows when I plug it in while ON and OFF, BUT it does blink AMBER when the battery is inserted with AC plugged in AND when AC is out. I am guessing it's the mainboard and/or a mosfet. Any idea what I could do here? Replace the mainboard? I can get a used one locally for about $40. I am poor student here in Canada during this hysteria! Thnks a lot man!

The Ram, Processor and Hdd. What's your recommendation?
8GB ram(any brand you like),processor depends because you need compatibility.if its intel(core i5).if its amd(ryzen 5),as for HDD it depends on how much storage you want.recommended is 500GB to 1TB and if you have extra money then buy an 120GB SSD.
Oh and i forgot the ram needs to be compatible.just buy what DDR of ram you have.im guessing you have DDR3 compatible motherboard?if that's the case just buy DDR3 ram.just do the same if it's DDR4.

the trackpad have a square that looks like a fluffy dirt , i cleaned it but then when i saw your video i realized its part of the hardware .. what is that little squared dirt like spot on track pad is for ? please im so worried (its that little black spot bottom left of the track pad ) and by cleaned it i mean removed it

I have tried resetting BIOS by releasing battery CMOS about 10 minutes

when I plugged the charger, the electricity power can enter/flow into the machine and the indicator lamp of charger turned on and the battery can save the power, but the machine can't power on.
Take it to your local computer repair shop as it looks to be a motherboard issue.
Hi I have the C850-1GL my battery wont charge and the laptop will only power on if the battery is removed so its permanently plugged into the mains also my speakers seem to be very poor sound quality ( very Tiny Sound ) is there something that's been disconnected or the speakers been damaged somehow plus the battery charging connection been damaged somehow .

Are you sure that's the c850d? I have one but mine is gray where you rest your hands while typing and it came with Windows 8 not 7...

everyone I need help, I just cleaned the inside of my laptop, I was careful and followed the steps properly as done in the video, but when I finished returning all the items I removed, the blower inside didn't work anymore and the screen is just black.

You didnt mention the screen card. I followed your video properly but on the laptop im working on, the customer knocked the laptop and the screen went off, so i thought something has come loose but where am i actually looking?
Mr.Seven the screen is another matter. Do a search and see if anyone else has done a screen replacement on this model.

Yes, you will need to get the same model CPU though.

I have a question. My notebook starts, then i have to change the settings because my bios battery is empty and i have to set the date and the clock. After that, when i save and exit, its loading and then i get a black screen with 4 blocks with a lot of short red lines, which are moving from the top to the bottom. What could be the problem?
I broke the cover. Wanted to remove dust but ended up not doing it.
what is the thing that placed bios battery's left?

What did you change / upgrade? Double check that all cables etc are properly connected. Are you getting anything on screen?
dpcomputing No the screen is black. I took everything apart and also unscrewd the airfan unit to clean out the dust inside then I put it all together. Now when I turn it on airfan doesnt work and the screen refuses to work as well

Hi I have a question. My laptop screen won't turn on I plug in the charger and it says its charging but it doesn't I opens it up and dusted it out and still nothing I also tried turning it on with out the battery to see if that was the problem but it still does not work. The like of connection turns on and everything but the screen doesn't turn on
he screen or video card may be the issue. Have you looked a the connections / cables to the screen to see if they haven't come loose?
My laptop is getting hot, there must be dust in the fan.
What is the risk of doing this besides the warranty void, which already expired anyway.
The main risk is it may not turn on after you put it all back together again! So make sure you do a full backup.

No, the power adapter looks to have blown something within your laptop. Was the new adapter the same rating as the old one?

Yes it is technically possible but you will have to confirm what CPU's BIOS supports (which I don't know) with Toshiba support.

FcInter TIAmo it is probably possible but not recommended due to potential overheating issues.

Sorry but my recommendation would be to get a new laptop. You can try and replace components but it may have damaged more than one so you may have to end up replacing everything.

unfortunately not but you can swap the platter hdd with a 2.5" ssd.
