my issue with it is that when i change the textures the face/morphs changes an goes back to normal. And with all the faces i have created their skin color never matches the body textures and that is why i tried to change the textures and the face/morphs changed as well. Thanks God i tried the free version before buying it.
I have been using it mostly as a starting point for either random characters or toon like characters. I have not had an issue of losing the morphs if I change textures. That has only happened to me sometimes when I save and come back. This may not be a tool for everyone. Like I said, my use for the moment doesn't need super accurate captures, although I'm starting to look at what other products have matured in the last two years.
@@W3-productions I used my character in Star Trek Online as my prototype and despite the higher quality making the DAZ character not quite screen accurate to the game model (which is like early PS3 era quality at best), I'm happy with the result.
Best guess is to use one of the child morphs from the store after using this plugin. I haven't found a good child morph for Genesis 8 (last time I looked was Christmas). In theory, it should be fine. May also want to use PhilW face shapes to help out as well.
There are a few mannequin characters in the Daz store. Alternatively you could find a picture of a forward facing mannequin head and see if it works. The body should take the same texture of the head.

So let's say I wanted to morph my head into a demon or an elf or something; is it possible to do that (assuming it's a morph designed for the Gen 8 figures)?

Are you using the 64bit Daz Studio? What version? Even without a license, it should be part of Daz Studio. I think you need version 4.12 or later. Maybe even newer than that.
I would suppose so but I don't see how with this software. You should be able to find the texture files of the scanned face, but would also need a 3D object to place the textures on. I'd imagine you could export your character from DAZ into another program and edit the body down to just a face from there.
I've done some comparison videos with FaceGen and I have been moving more and more towards FaceGen these days. Still not perfect but much better looking.

The FaceTransfer addon generally wants to either create a new character in the scene or modify one that is already loaded. I'm not sure it can do anything else without modification.
Not outright. It defaults to gen 8. There maybe a way to get it to gen 3 but I'm not sure how. It's tricky enough to transfer from one gen 8 to another.

I'll have to look into it. I'm sure there are some texture settings, such as Translucency weight. The most important thing is to take a photo with good lighting. I've had to take several just to get a decent one. Natural lighting would be best. Yellow light might not be the cause of your issue, but it may contribute.

Which was changing my skin in surfaces to 3DL, which actully looks so good in iray... because it blends the skin texture to work with iray settings with out ruining your face scan..
I change the color of the surface and it works but when I save the face it gets to the original orange color that facetransfer makes, and if I dont save it and I export it to blender with the bridge to blender in some hours the material disappears and it looks pink

It could be a number of things and there are not any good error messages to tell you why. The face does need to take up most of the picture, so no middle or far away shots. It should look as close to a passport type photo as possible.

For some reason, I can't find it in the Daz Store at the moment. I also think the Daz Store search function isn't really working today. Even then, the results may take some work. I would also look into PhilW's face shapes for Face Transfer. They are good for Face Transfer all around. Again I can't find it in the Daz Store at the moment. You will twice the information when you apply the textures which will appear more accurate because your adding information from two separate photos I to one texture. You also do with photos by taking two snap shots in succession and if you didn't move you can layer them and get double the amount of facial information from the layered photo. Although a single photo contains enough information to get a good likeness by layering two photos together you are doubling the information giving the program more data to work from. Although they both may look like the name photo each one has different information and by combining the two photos together by layering them with fifty percent opacity your basically concentrating the amount of information in the photo doubling the information the program can work with. The second photo should have the lighting angle changed slightly so the program can build off of the lighting changes when you add the the photos together to create a super texture and more accurate morph.

Yes. In a lot of cases I quickly change to another texture. Although a new texture can make it look like a completely new character if you don't find one close enough. I believe there is a Daz to Unity Bridge out there somewhere.
I don't really have issues with this for when, let's say, my internet cuts out. I don't run all that Postgres stuff in the background. That may or may not help.
It's hit or miss. It's best when the photo is taken specially for this purpose. If you are using a random photo, all bets are off. Sometimes headshot was better because it used the side profile as well.

At the time of the video, I believe you had to go to Help -> About Installed Plugins to enter the serial number for Face Transfer. Looking today, I don't see one listed. So it's possible that has changed.

W3 Productions actually their store has been broken for weeks. It was a discount stacked with a discount earlier in the week. They did a wishlist sale . Then 2 days later added it to the daily sale. So with the code from the wishlist sale it chopped it 60% then another 50% with purchase of 2 new releases. During the pc+ sale they accidentally put my entire wishlist on sale for $2 I hit that sale hard cause it was a glitch they fixed by morning.

Yes. You are able to use your Genesis 8 morphs after using this. Just like you normally would. This acts like a morph and a texture change.

I've seen it happen with the FaceGen app once or twice as well. I'm not sure what is going on, but it may have to do with the lighting in the photo.

I'm relatively sure that models can be exported for customization and reimported, but I know little of the process.

W3 Productions actually their store has been broken for weeks. It was a discount stacked with a discount earlier in the week. They did a wishlist sale . Then 2 days later added it to the daily sale. So with the code from the wishlist sale it chopped it 60% then another 50% with purchase of 2 new releases. During the pc+ sale they accidentally put my entire wishlist on sale for $2 I hit that sale hard cause it was a glitch they fixed by morning.
