"Oh they got parents in the stands? They soft!" 😂😂😂
Mom and dad? Oh we're about to smash them!! Lol
I felt that statement 😂😂
@@justyouravgjoe3962 I guess Jalen never heard of parents support? lol
😂😂
“Parents with a real good marriage”
I love it every time RJ is near his peers. He has no filter😂
Especially around Gilbert Arenas haha
🤣 he was mad at the end
@@marchveris
"Gilbert was such a phenomen-"
"Yeah, yo-"
"Shut up, Gilbert"
He’s like a low key Wayne Brady from the chapelle show
Chris Harris lol fasho
I love hearing former high level athletes sharing war stories.
Far from war thats for sure
Richard Jefferson is lowkey hilarious
jmall929292 not one thing about that was lowkey 🤣🤣🤣
I feel like Richard Jefferson is all about that trash talk.
Fasho but he can back it up with skill too lol
RJ is gonna work at ESPN for a long time. One year in and HE’S hosting a show with Jalen Rose and Jay Williams
He’s also doing some color commentary for some of the nets games
B. Davis was a problem in high school. He lit my high school varsity team up for 50 pts in the ‘97 California championship game.
Do you remember when the Collins twins were in that tournament as well?
oaklandsoldier I don’t remember because their high school was division 3 and my school was division 4 but I just checked and saw they crushed their opponent in the championship game.
Nbs
Every single player in the NBA was a problem in High School.
@@Loveoverhate_ not true lol mj wasnt a bunch of guys wasnt
ESPN TAKE NOTE OF THIS FORMAT. Just three former athletes talking. We don't need some young blonde white girl to moderate this ... Black men don't need to be handled or moderated; just let them talk.
You see that too huh.
@@stevenjenkins3882 Yes sir!
I agree as long as there are five shows that are just white people. White people don’t need bruthas soft shoeing around.
Danny Tallmadge disagree, those shows would suck
@@dannytallmadge2161 LoL! What is soft shoeing?
Hearing former players tell stories like this is always dope. Jay is the only Duke player I’ve ever liked. He was about as dominant of a guard as you can be in college. Fundamentally sound, strong, killer mentality. The whole package
You ain’t like Grant Hill? 🧐
How you don’t like G Hill though?
Schea Cotton was like an urban legend in Los Angeles back then
Yeah, I remember. Thought he was going to be the next NBA sensation.
Israel Rosario Jr. I still don’t know the story on how he didn’t make it
@@2Faded247 he never got drafted because he was short for his game and then couldn't get a shot in the league. Being ineligible to go to UCLA hurt him too.
Israel Rosario Jr. aaah okay! That makes sense.. Thanks for info my man.. I always wondered about that cat
He drop 46 on Us At 13
Grant Hill has Jalen's number their entire careers I see.
Facts. Jalen was also jealous of Grant Hill too. He admitted that
TheLtrain85 yeah, as a kid 😂 he was a poor kid, Grant was rich. It’s common.
@@kevinbolds6899 their parents played a big part in that jealousy too according to Jalen as they both had fathers who were successful athletes but where Grant grew up with his, Jalen never even met his own
@@SportsSpeak73 that’s also true.
It's good to see that competitiveness even years later.
I love how these retired players still hold these competitive grudges. Just great
Dang RJ hit him with the "he says it bothers him they have sets and he went to Duke.."😂😂😂
What are sets?
Love RJ and J Will flirting with each other. It’s cute.
For this segment I want everyone to put one foot on the table😂
😂😂 I didn't even notice until I read this
🤣🤣🤣
This was amazing
that got some hot sauce at the end. Jalen just chilling.
loved this format... we need MORE of this right here
ESPN needs more of this. Three dudes known for speaking their mind, energy is high, you could feel some tension between RJ and Jay the whole segment - loved it. Sports is about competition, these dudes know their stuff, & the fire’s clearly still there. Would love to see more.
When Kobe hit Jalen with 81 points, he still blamed Grant Hill for that.
Jalen was past his prime and the coach said to let Kobe shoot the team out of the game
Actually morris Peterson was guarding kobe most of the game. Go back and watch it.
im2hastyle Kobe suxxed
Mo Pete told me the Kobe story a few days ago. It's funny.
That game was 100% rigged and scripted
Rj still mad about losing national championship to Duke lol
AP Terminator Jalen Rose probably is too, but madder about losing to North Carolina.
@Kelvin Quartey 'Zona didn't have anyone better than Shane Battier and Jay Will.
He’s SUPER big Mad. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Kelvin Quartey Gilbert Arenas was better in the NBA but not in college. College and NBA are two different places
Great segment
Jay williams the most esteemed member of this panel, RJ.
...Jalen is
I love stuff like this! 3 dude's - that were all at one point or another THAT DUDE - just choppin it up, being REAL.
Jay Williams was never that dude in the NBA Nor was Jalen Rose Richard Jefferson that's a different story he definitely was smh y'all be thinking just cuz someone was in the league that they was like the greatest player or legend like not even close. ..that would be like saying Ryan Hollis was a superstar in the NBA when he played like no
@@187mrsmith read my comment again! Because you inserted some words in there that I never said nor implied. As a matter of fact, I specifically put words in there that are contrary to what you are accusing me of saying. Reading is fundamental.
To help you out, I specifically said- "AT ONE POINT OR ANOTHER"! He was DEFINITELY THAT DUDE in high school and college!
Where did i say IN THE NBA? WHERE? Bruh, stop skipping school. You not gonna make it to 3rd grade otherwise.
@@demetriusmiddleton1246 you specifically said that they were that dude meaning they was the top dude where they was at read your own comment bro smh
RJ and Jay Will are the ESPN Shaq and Chuck 🤣
We need an hour long show same ppl with Gilbert arenas
Facts, considering already the great effectiveness of the RJ/Gilbert duo.
Gilbert Arenas is way too biased though in his opinions. Everything that isn't Gilbert is Garbage.
Need to see A Lot more of "Off the Clock" clips of former NCAA Bball stars kicking it and telling stories.
"I don't want to talk about anything else wit you" - RJ
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Shea Cotton and that Select team knock us off in Vegas by 30 , and we was Good , He was Next level and our 6'7 guys couldn't hang with him
Jason Williams is must watch TV! He gets RJ every time 😂😂😂
This show works cause Jay and RJ almost have like a real, yet playful, beef. Jalen just stationed perfectly between them being Detroit
Who of yall used to play in the "Adidas Big Time" Tournament in Vegas....KILLERS...Everybody...KILLERS!!!!!
RJ and Jay really hate each other cause they r so alike. Lol
I think that's how the deepest respect forms too
Im all for them bullying eachother its refreshing lol
RJ is mad Jay and Duke smashed on them, in the biggest stage of them all on the collegiate level. Even though Arizona was favored to win
Jalen still hates. Grant Hill
😂😂😂😂
I remember reading about Shea Cotton when I was in high school.
Richard cracks me up!
Lol, looking at Richard Jefferson, u wouldn't know he is funny as hell...I could listen to him alot
There needs to be an hour long show where they go into detail about former players like this.
RJ and Jalen are fun to watch!
I was at the Game J Will is talking about, BD and Cali vs J Will and Dontay Jones ( New Jersey Celtics) Boston Shootout was a Premier High School tournament before AAU took over.
i'm gonna be watching these things just to see RJ and Jay Williams going at it. lol
This was pure gold!! 😂😂
Grant Hill got you D-Rose when we're young.. But I'll guarantee...!!!
Hill couldn't have beaten you as a member of the.."SUPER FRIENDS"!
the greatest AAU team of all time..!!! O.G. Real Ballerz know!!
man those two bold dudes are lightning the room better than camera lamps!
This was way too short
So good, more of this!
00:03 "YOU KNOW WHO HE IS." He's Kevin Dura... No wait
Need more of these
Parents in the stand... super real J. Rose always been fluid with realness
I saw Shea Cotton and Mater Dei High play against Stephon Marbury and Lincoln back in the day. To this day, Stephon is as good or better than any high school player I've ever seen - He would dribble down and either shoot from 30 or drive to the rim, score or make an great pass, he was on fire with such skill! Mater Dei was having none of that though and they had more talent led by the man child Shea Cotton. Mater Dei won the game and Shea threw down some vicious dunks but Marbury was the star of the show cuz he went off big time. Maybe the best high school game I ever saw.
I never saw Steph in person till he gave us the easiest 41 ever in high school. Your description 100% correct. Nothing but bombs and layups
I played in that tournament in San Diego...We played Mater Dei and they killed us by 30 or 40 points...I remember Marbury pulling up from half court like 3 possessions in a row..That was a great game and great memories..
@@aaronsiler2444 Marbury had a great tournament for sure. I saw Kyrie in HS and while he was great too, Marbury was next level.
Half of them kids on that Virginia squad was from THE WHOLE DMV
This was awesome. Real talk.
I like these stories. Need more
This was a great segment
Great 👍🏽 take 💪🏽💯💪🏽
Love this format
I saw Shea Cotton play in the national AAU tourney in Salt Lake City as a 12 year old. Dominated at that age too.
What a great trio here.
Gilbert Arenas was born 10 years early. It was drafted in 2011, Lillard, Kember and Curry who?
Russell Westbrook Fan since 2010 injuries and the locker room thing had more impact imho
Idk he had the talent but because of hes personality he would still use hes powers for evil 😂
Arenas was selfish and a terrible teammate.
Jefferson is a cool brother
sporadic angry richard jefferson is low key my favorite Nba on espn persona right now
I feel sorry for the coffee table.
This WAS GREAT!!!!
Do people not realize how great J will was ?
Yeah, I think people have forgotten because of the career-ending injury. He never got a chance to do it long enough for folks to remember. But, boys & girls, J Will was like what Lonzo Ball was suppose to be, if Lonzo Ball was good. J Will was that dude. Don't kid yourselves.
@@JoshuaFrick3 I'm a UNC fan, and I can attest to this!
I remember watching him in college. He had a great shot and was a solid offense running point guard. And he won a championship with Duke, right?
@@cesarsilva6483 yah Jay Will and Duke took it to the favorites(Arizona) that year. That is why RJ is so salty towards JW cause they lost
@demetriusmiddleton1246 as I'm a Duke fan & always felt Ty Lawson was underrated bc of all the hype Hansborough got. No Lawson , no chip period!
That was great. An fresher version of "Open Court".
4:07 hilarious!!
Funny how less white Jefferson sounds/acts when he’s around Jalen. 🤣
The Rayvolution lol was thinkin the exact same thing
@@anthonygraham8122 I wouldn't say he talks "white" or educated because there's laziness in his words too...it's the phonetics in his vernacular that people confuse with sounding educated or as non-black. his tone reads like a person that's trying enunciate every word spoken
I didn't know only whites could sound professional when speaking. smh If you think being black is only the American stereotypical black culture, you need to get out more. Do you think Africans talk like you?
@@anthonygraham8122 it's not sounding educated. It's the nasally quality and cadence, and pronunciation he has when he speaks that makes him sound white.
James Earl Jones, Farrakhan, are very articulate and no one says they sound white.
Conversely there are white people that have the diction and vocabulary of a gerbil and they still sound white
It's not about sounding educated idiots
White people generally have a more nasally quality to their voices due to their nasal passages being thinner and their cadence and speech patterns are different generally.
Even when they use slang they sound like a white guy using slang.
Conversely there are Black men who are classically articulate like James Earl Jones, Farrakhan, Don Lemon, Al Roker and no one says the sound white.
Some Black people do switch up their vocal tone to sound white. Look at the Wayans skit on Living Color called Brothers Brothers and you'll see what I'm saying
I thought something was up when I saw Michael Wilbon and Richard Jefferson suddenly wearing masks during the Game 4 postgame wrapup
This is golden lol
the coffee table with them feet:
👁️👄👁️
Keep this show ‼️‼️
My mom was AAU coach.... she’s the reason why I stop playing ball in the early 90’s. ✌🏾
Wow f real? If you dont mind can you elaborate on that experience more?
RJ tie being crooked mess wit me
Richard Jefferson is the cattiest. He's too funny.
Jalen always speaks of his past n not having and others having more. He needs therapy. Im being so serious. It def has affected him. No matter how much he smiles you can still see it in his face and the voice break down low.... what he needs to understand as well whether in college or high school the players were not responsible for their money or lifestyle it was the parents. So sad
RJ needs his own show, on HBO or Showtime.
YES GRANT HILL PLAYED FOR POTOMAC VALLEY GRANT HILL WAS THE BEST YOUNG AAU PLAYER I EVER SEEN. HE WAS SMOOTH EFFORTLESSLY AND EFFECTIVE. I SAW HIM AND A YOUNG JAMAL MASHBURN GO AGAINST ONE ANOTHER IN THE 6TH GRADE IN ST. LOUIS AAU NATIONAL TOURNAMENT.
My uncle ced played against that same team
RJ holding onto some old grudges with Jay 🤷🤣🤣
I absolutely adore the humility of these Gentlemen & this conversation!!! Respect
'they have uniforms, shoes, and their parents are in the stand.'
RJ kills me haha
Jalen like why they got me between this🤣🤣🤣
I soooooo would love to send J.ROSE a pair of those FILA GRANT HILLs🤣🤣🤣
I'm ☠️! Did he say they had shoes, uniforms parents were in the stand? 😂😂😂Dead, never sleep on anybody!
They need their own show
This is going to my favorites
You should see when Jefferson and Gilbert Arenas are together.. hilarious. Both played together at Arizona
“Jayson Williams, that’s worse”
😂😂😂😂they didn’t call them fouls in Jay😂😂😂😂
Seeing RJ in high school was one of those different situations
I love seeing grown men putting their shoes on a table
I realized in the 11th grade guarding Jason Kidd that I wasn't going to the league...😱
This is my favorite show right here 👍🏾
Shea Cotton was All-World as a freshman in high school.. he was just more advanced and developed than anybody else... as a freshman 😳
Shea Cotton was a beast, but Joy Johnson had even more hops
❤❤❤❤👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾THIS IS WHAT IM TAKING ABOUT!!!. Only ex-players should be allowed to have sports shows!!!!!!!!
Didn't R. Jefferson pay his fiancée a millionaire dollars to go away he called the wedding off at the last minute didn't tell anybody and all his friends showed up thinking it was going to be a wedding.
There is a LeBron story that's out there when he played in Jordan camp when he was like 16.
jeebs9 no there isn’t. There was actually more stories of lebron’s entourage making sure they took away people’s video footage of when he got dunked on when he was in high school.
Yeah that's true, when MJ was preparing to come back in early 2000's he played invitation only pick-up ball and Bron got an invite. It was actually featured in an issue of ESPN the magazine.
@@rnarine89 yes there is
Afterwards in which Jordan declared LeBron could play in the NBA after his Sophomore year...
