- Astroneer Academy 203 - Hoverboard & VTOL, introduces you to the specialized Jet Powered chain of missions required to unlock each of these vehicles along with helping you becoming familiar with their controls and safety concerns. The dozen missions you will be completing are: Prototype Recovery, Tracing the Transmission, Electrical Engineering, Ingredient Investigations, Onboarding, Vertical Thinking, Bootstrapping, What the Thrust?, Substance Selection, Further Refinement, Analysis Paralysis, and Finished Product.

Hello Astroneer Academy! I am one of the two who helped with the Three Seater part alongside AstroTime. It was honestly quite fun recording that part, as we learned a few things and were _actually_ able to re-teach Vanglorious a long-time Astroneer feature, that being when one gets into a vehicle of any sort, whether it be a VTOL, rover, tractor/trailer, etc. and another player enters a seat, the first person who entered retains control until they exit the seat, at which point control is given to the person who got in after the driver did, which, in the Three Seater case, was actually me, believe it or not.
"re-teach" might be overstating that I was up until after 5 AM working on this video and had only been awake for 45 minutes when we were recording and wasn't quite yet alert and just said something in the backwards order of what I meant. :)
@@VaingloriousGaming Yeah, accurate. Sleep deprivation can do that to people.
Personally, I always use the VTOL for the ancient probes mission. Place the scanner in one tier one slot on VTOL, a QT on the other, some hydrazine, usually a full fluid canister, and off you go to the probe. The scanner can be activated in flight. Add some packagers to the mix and you can quickly do all the probes and complete the mission. Thanks for the video.
that sounds like a pro-tip for a future video to me!
I thought I was having a bug with my portable oxygenator. It kept turning off. The first time I died because I was in a tunnel and I didn't notice it until too late. The next times I caught it in time. Turns out it wasn't a bug. I finally noticed the top bumpers on my controller turned it off. I also use the same button for another function. I ended up moving the portable oxygenator to the left side and pretty much solved my portable oxygenator turning off.
the shoulder slots can be activated independently, left bumper for left shoulder, right for right. That might help?
@@VaingloriousGaming I found that out eventually when I realized my accidentally pressing the right bumper was turning my portable oxygenator off. I also found out C and V activate the left and right connectors on the front and rear of the large rover. Then I found out on X box it's not left and right the left and right bumpers activate the front and rear.
I hope someday we see a bigger VTOL just like the rovers. I love this thing but the storage options are a bit underwhelming.
stretch it out, widen it, add a couple of thrusters, and slap a huge cargo bay in the middle. Astroneer version of a C-5 Galaxy cargo plane!

When I first got the hoverboard I didn't think I'd like it too much. I knew I'd like the VTOL. Turns out the hoverboard is great. I use it a lot more than the VTOL. A bigger VTOL would be nice. I'd prefer to see a larger backpack. Even a tech section added. By the time i get all the necessities loaded I'm lucky to have 6 slots free. Usually I struggle to have 4 free.
