Hey, just wanted to say that I was one of the writers on the “biome” page on the astroneer wiki (which the video is obviously based on), really like the adaptation (especially the little segments in between the planets), also kinda amazed to see something I wrote played in front of this many people, overall great job!

Heck ya man! Sometimes my Reddit posts and comments make it onto RUclips, and it is super cool to see something you wrote being read and discussed by others!
Thanks for your hard work. Without people like you, I wouldn’t have been able to play as much as I have, at all. During the ps3 and Xbox 360 days there wasn’t near as many online resources, and since I like a challenge but not one that’s frustrating, there were games I never finished and ones that I barely scratched the surface of, all because I’d get stuck. Either not knowing why something wasn’t unlocking, no clear path forward even after hours of trying, or some difficult task that required a very specific path of actions, timed correctly, to finally conquer.
I take longer than most people because I like to explore and savor everything, do every side quest, etc. but I can play ABSOLUTELY anything now. Blood borne, Mortal Shell, Elden Ring, etc. to The Assassin’s Creed games, Astroneer, Borderlands, and all the open world games I prefer the most, even been dabbling in multiplayer! I’m not always one of the “good” players on a team, but I’m always knowledgeable about what we’re doing and I can at least hold my own. (I don’t play teams in anything until I can. I get into “medium” range skill level wise before I even try to join a team. Don’t want to drag anyone down, or make their hobby stressful.) Some games I’m actually pretty good at, some I’ll probably never rise above average at, but without online resources to help, I honestly probably would have quit playing shortly after the PS4 released.
I’ve spent I don’t even know how many hours playing, have played hundreds of titles, and even returned to multiplayer games even though I swore them off after “Dead Island.”
Most games I try to do everything myself first, but only the ones with a rigid, set path can I ever finish without looking something up. Sometimes I study up before I ever even really get into a title, if it’s complex and daunting. Whatever way, the point is that there’s a whole part of my life that I wouldn’t have now, so many worlds I wouldn’t have seen, stories I wouldn’t have heard, characters I wouldn’t have gotten to know, and online friends I would have never made, if it weren’t for the online resources and the people who contribute to them.
      Thanks man, seriously.

Calidor is my favorite planet because of the massive cliff faces you often encounter which are quite enormous and very interesting when you get on top of them and can see very far, and these cliffs are separated by dunes of sand, along with having the coolest cave entrances.

Calidor is the best imho. It has great solar power (which presents the ability to make a solar ring around Calidor, If you are into the endgame), deserts are cool, plants arent too hostile, 2 great resources, and the most wide-open caves of the solar system, also looks very nice!

Yeah there are a couple of ways
      - place a landing pad and use a shuttle
      - use a series of platforms with auto arms (there's a video on RUclips that was uploaded recently about that)

for the rover enjoyers out there:
NEVER PICK GLACIO FOR ROVER DRIVING
as nice as glacio might look, its not very fun to drive there, and also has those god damn vertical steps
instead, calidor is way more fun to drive due to its dunes, which make a great scenery to drive by and enjoy, and plus, there are some actual curvature and no vertical steps
if you wanna have some fun, put some small solars on a buggy, and go chase the sun, its fun and you can admire scenery
protip: always bring 1 medium battery on your rover, as typically the power is very inconsistent on calidor due to the long day/night cycle
also, for hoverboard enjoyers, calidor and vesania are the best hoverboarding planets out there
BUT, be sure to get both of their pets first, you don't want to hoverboard yourself to death, otherwise its pretty fun to hoverboard there
protip: if you already have princess pet, use lashleafs to yeet yourself high up in the air to cover long distances with ease
