For the first time I've not made a trailer, teaser or TV-Spot. It's an epic battle montage where I use clips from the following movies put together in a trailerlike sort of way:)

Lord of the rings (1,2,3), Troy, Narnia, Alexander, Kingdom of Heaven, The Mummy 2 and 3, 300, the cinematic trailers for Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft + The Burning crusade and Warhammer online.
I didn't use Braveheart because the dvdrip was very poor, and I didn't use Gladiator because there's only very few scenes with a huge epic army (in the very beginning) and those shots aren't that good. Though if you want them, take a look at my Epic Battle Montage 2 ;)
Why did I use the cinematic trailers from Warcraft 3 and WoW? When I made this montage Beowulf (the movie) was around. I decided to use some stuff from this movie - but when I went away from it again because - I did though continue with the idea about CGI and therefore I chose to use the stuff from W3 and WoW. I thought those running scenes from W3 was awesome and there's some cool shots in the WoW cinematics. Remember this montage was about the first of it's kind in youtube (if not the first) and there's always something negative to say about videos. I decided to make it this way and if you wan't something different I can only encourage you to try it yourself! :-)

You're right, they are pretty timeless, as I'm still watching them every now and then in 2024.
15 years later and nothing in that time has even come close to daneimp's editing vision of this epic battle montage on RUclips. Some people just got that midas touch. I hope life is treating you well and for what its worth you deserve to be up there with the stars because your talent simply can't be touched as this video has proven over the years.

Just awesome and spine-chilling.
Several years have passed since I last saw this. Man. I love the massive build-up in the beginning. This is a sequence done right. Not focusing on the battle itself, but rather the atmosphere before that.
Still my favorite battle montage. I could watch this over and over again. The scenes and clips work out perfectly, and the music fits! Simply amazing.
After all this years I still love this video. Added to my "Best Montages" playlist!

I think the first Time i watched this Video was in early 2009..it blew me away. I checked here in the past years every here and than and it still blew my mind. Now 10 Years later i found my way back here daneimp!

5 months later: My men have been charging and and i think someone is watching and keeps rewinding the charge, but what I don't get is that everytime we rewind we are wearing different outfits. I mean jeez, I turned into a freaking polar bear. I don't think I can take anymore of it.

Those Anubis things with axes were awesome, and LotR has the most epic battle scenes i have ever seen of a movie of its type.
There is nothing so hauntingly beautiful as the charge, the valour and bravery involved combined by the sheer weight of the soldiers involved.

the part where the Minotaur does the epic running kills in narnia is still my favorite part of that movie, as for the rest of this video, I can say it gave me an adrenaline rush, very nice.

But seriously, I cried when they all screamed FOR something and then charged into battle. The emotions were too strong to take.
This is how TRUE battles and wars are fought; with sheer man power and the will to survive! Not pressing a button or trigger and everything goes kaboom.

i don't know why but every time i see an epic battle montage like this one i think "they could've done better" yet when i see a sci-fi montage i think "pretty good"
Still the best! The climactic last couple of minutes is ridiculously fun to watch. My only regret is that I have yet to see a SciFi equivalent to this masterpiece.
Growing up this was a fun motivation, mixing the movietrack with the music. Rare for montages.

this is kinda how ragnarok will go down when all mortals, gods and elves come together to fight one last time, as midgard and the 9 realms bount to ygdrasil fall into destruction.... Loki will sail in from jotunheim with his ship naglfadr with his giants, hel will rise with her undead army, Odin will decend from asgard with the gods, the elves will arrive from alfheim and svartalfheim, and the fire giants will hail from muspelsheim, led by surt, and of course the midgards worm will crawl up to the surface... Heimdall will blow his horn, and from valhalla the heroes of man will ride into battle as well.

This is something I've come to know about media these days. Most people tend to label anything, even the mundane, as 'epic' in one form or another. This is also done for many youtube videos that have been poorly edited. This, I'm happy to say, is not the case for your video. Well done my good man, well done.

While haven't yet begun my personal monatgey-type videos because of file and software issues, I have been planning for months my WWII montage I will make, which will play in sync with Requiem for a Dream(The music actually fits in with WWII when u put your head into it).

Man, I wish Star Wars was in here. Too bad those cinematic trailers for TOR weren't out when he was making this. I know this is close quarters combat with swords and stuff, no guns, but if you look at the TOR trailers, they would be perfect for this. Good job btw, I really liked it, but for a second there I thought you were going to end it right as the 2 opposing forces were going to make contact and fight. That would've sucked XD

This has got to be one of the most awsome videos i have ever seen, the music was well chosen and timed, and the scenes were in perfect synquence (sp?). It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Well done 11 out of 10.

That...was...AWESOME!
This is great! I would SO want to see this kind of segment in a movie. With around 3 separate battles, with known characters on both sides and a good story in the backround, explaining the reasons and some details on the battles. Via skilled editing, one can make a 5-6 minute clip seem like a hour long segment with nothing but epic fighting. It'd save everyone's money, effort and time if the whole movie wasn't just about the 1½ long boring fight scene and ½ hours of awkward dialogue.
This is really well edited. A very high level of polish and a great deal of effort clearly went into this.
