You said you would surrender right after Delenn spoke her bad-ass line. The Earth forces didn't surrender. Instead, they evacuated. First in their pants, second through a ship-initiated jump portal.
I agree on the show as being number 1, though my favorite bad-ass line is from Ivanova: "Who am I? I am Susan Ivanova. Commander. Daughter of Andrei and Sophie Ivanov. I am the right hand of vengeance, and the boot that is going to kick your sorry ass all the way back to Earth, sweetheart! I am Death Incarnate, and the last living thing that you are ever going to see. God sent me." It's not exactly a "reinforcements arrive" moment at that point though, as the White Star fleet pretty much gets their ass handed to them.
@@Bitfire31337 Yes, both of these characters have such great lines, showing how great the show is. For reinforcements bad-ass moment, Delenn has it. For a "hold the line" bad-ass moment, Commander Ivanova has it. Granted Garibaldi had a few great lines as well.

Agreed…. Because there’s no risk with the ghost army showing up. They can’t be harmed or killed again. What’s inspiring is that each individual that rode there with theoden had something to lose there. They all put it to the wayside with the full understanding that they could and likely would die or that their force could be defeated. But they chose an act of valor for the chance to save their world for the people that they love and embraced the liklihood of their own demise if there was a chance at doing so. Each rider cheering for death, the thing that Morgoth and Sauron tricked the race of men to fear even though it is actually their exclusive gift granted by the one true god of their universe Eru Ilúvatar. The only race in Tolkien’s Legendarium promised to eventually transcend the plane “Ea” and go “on” Elves are reborn in the land of Valinor in Aman, certain Dwarves (the first seven kings created by Aule) get reincarnated. The rest go to the halls of Mandos in Valinor where they remain until the time will come to rebuild Arda. No one in middle earth knows what lays in store for the race of men after death. All they know is that their spirits will no longer inhabit the same plane of existence as the rest of them.

Star Trek Deep Space Nine. Season 6 episode 6 "Sacrifice of Angels" Starfleet is losing the fight, the Defiant is being chased by three bad guys when the Klingons hit the Dominion flanks and started laying down sconion (the act of destroying something or just plain "kicking ass"). The look on Garak's face was classic and I don't think Jazida ever loved Worf more than when he appeared on the screen. "Sorry we were late......" If it were not for the head ridges, Worf could pass for a British guy with his gift of understatement. 😁

Bumblebee got his legs blown off from a glancing shot by Starscream in the first movie, and then the second movie gave Starscream lines and action as a pathetic, sycophantic loser. When you get beaten by a pathetic, sycophantic loser, it can tarnish your reputation as “such a great fighter”
Number 20, Infinity War...Cap didn't save Wanda and Vision from Proxima and Corvus. He saved Thanos' minions from the Scarlet Witch. Wanda was holding back because they were in a city, and the events of Civil War were still weighing on her. But in that empty train station, with no civilians around to get hurt, I'm pretty sure she was about to open up a can. Look what she did to Thanos in Endgame. Yes, B5 was great, Delenn's entrance was great. But, if a top 5/10/15/20/25 of B5 is ever done. Susan Ivanova's "Death Incarnate" scene is best. 2nd is the dressing down of the research team.
Jep, Babylon 5 is 90s CGI, but the camera movement and animations make the space battles seem so much more real and alive than many others since then. Also: the Star Trek entry should have been the Enterprise E arriving at Sector 001 in ST VIII.
I was expecting Band of Brothers (tanks arrive in Carentan), Braveheart (Irish come out of the trees to help the Scots), Armageddon (2nd crew shows up to drill), Saving Private Ryan (101st helps with the Halftrack and the P-51’s show up to knock out tanks), Fury (tank crews show up to rescue infantry pinned down in open field), Top Gun Maverick (Hangman saves Rooster and Maverick), Battleship (F-18’s arrive to knock out aliens), and maybe Tombstone (Doc Holliday pops out of the shadow to face off with Ringo…twice) I’m your huckleberry….
I've not viewed as many films and TV shows as many others out there, so my list can rightly be called a bit skewed and biased, but here it is: 1. The Ride of the Rohirrim (The Lord of the Rings, The Return of the King) 2. Optimus Prime riding Grimlock (Transformers: Age of Extinction) 3. The Clone Army makes its debut (Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones) 4. All Marvel Heroes Assemble (Avengers: Endgame) 5. The Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman destroy the Endeavour (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End) 6. "It's the Enterprise!" (Star Trek: First Contact) 7. The Klingons Arrive at DS9 (Star Trek: Deep Space 9, Season 6 Episode 5) 8. The Knights of the Vale destroy the Bolton army (Game of Thrones, Season 6 Episode 9) 9. Kit Fisto and the Gungans Arrive on Mon Calamari (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Season 4 Episode 1) 10. Dinobots vs. Devastator (The Transformers: The Movie, 1986)
Mark Watney was played by Matt Damon not Sean Bean, but indeed Sean Bean dies all the time there are even brilliant and funny compilations about it on You Tube 😂. Excellent choices though anything that features BSG, Firefly/Serenity, LOTR and B5 is always going to be great!
Funnily enough my favorite quote from that B5 Episode was "Right down their throat", which to me is the best line in any space battle as it means that knifefighting in coming
I'm glad B5 and Galactica get the recognition they deserve, but I wish you had also included Avatar. It's arguably not the best movie but the moment when all seems lost and suddenly the jungle animals break through the bushes to fight against the humans will never stop being awesome, especially with the underlying score ramping every emotion up to 100.
please, i was literally thinking about halfway through this list "hmm, I wonder if the Reavers in Serenity would count as reinforcements?" and then there they were 😂such an interesting scene in context too
I like your selections. Each scene does better with context and how they play out. Love B5 and Serenity picks. I love Lord of the Rings too but before this scene was the scene with the horse riders and also the scene when Aragon boarded the ships. So by the time the scene you put in happens we're almost at overkill. Plus the enemy continued to have reinforcements. Beyond that what two questions I have from that entire battle are why didn't Aragon and his army show up straight away and also how would a squadron of fully armed A10 warthogs fair.
Regarding the US Navy showing up for "one man" ... the US Navy charter, the founding document passed by Congress, lists their purpose as fighting piracy on the high seas. Because at the time the Barbary Pirates were disrupting global trade by highjacking and sinking commercial ships demanding tribute for safety, and then they just kept sinking ships anyway. So the US formed a navy, built six ships (The US Constitution being one of them, still serving in the navy) and sent them off. And they absolutely destroyed the pirate nation. And to this day, the US Navy takes their role in stopping pirates extremely seriously. Patrolling waters where they work around the world and shutting them down.
For citizens, even an accidental discharge that causes injury or death means that jail time will be served by that citizen. Cops are fully knowledgeable that they are immune to such charges and therefore are more than comfortable to be called over-zealous when they discharge their firearms that may injure or cause death. Then they go into "He/she/they refused to comply," "I was in fear for my life," or no verbal reason whatsoever except should shrug because they wear a badge.
Sarah Connor didn't immediately accept the Terminator there. She was STARING, right up until John talked her down...and then of course T-1000 shows up, and her understanding of the situation kicks in. Uhh, yeah, I've seen Smokey and the Bandit movies. I also know how Burt was really worried about a particular stunt in one of them where he thought he might end up crushing some folks with Trigger. Fortunately, it didn't happen.
kinda disappointed that the scene from Star Trek lower decks where all the cali class ships come to the rescue wasn't in part 1 or part 2, maybe in part 3?
The Delenn to the rescue was the quintessential cavalry and it's fair that it's the top one in this list. But as for "drop the Hammer" moments, when the hero gets serious about showing who's boss, there's some stiff competition from another line in B5: "Who am I? I am Susan Ivanova. Commander. Daughter of Andrei and Sophie Ivanov. I am the right hand of vengeance, and the boot that is going to kick your sorry ass all the way back to Earth, sweetheart! I am Death Incarnate, and the last living thing that you are ever going to see. God sent me."
@@dragoneth4010 Agreed. Iwas digressing a little bit, since this line deserves all the respect I can give it. As I said, it was a "drop the hammer" category, not "cavalry to the rescue".
I think I should add something: to me, those two lines are joined at the hip, since both are so awesome examples of badass women (of different kinds) showing who's boss. It's debateable if I should mentioned the second line here, but I was psychologically unable to not do it. Should I apologise? Maybe, it sure was a digression.
What about the beginning of Kung Fu Hustle? When Sing throws the firecracker over the fence to call for backup from the Axe Gang, and it lands on some underboss from the real Axe Gang, so he lies and says the landlady threw it. The Underboss gets his butt kicked, so they call for backup. The Axe Gang shows up IN FORCE, LIKE A SWARM OF LOCUSTS, A DARKNESS SWEEPING ACROSS THE LAND. It was chilling!
I am totally so offended. Bugs are living creatures....HOW DARE YOU! *Cries in...whatever crying language is needed for whatever the supposed outrage I am expressing is. WAHHHH!"
Sarah definitely didn’t accept the terminator right away. She doesn’t totally accept him until near the end of the film, or at least part way through the movie.
Real world fact to go along with #24. No matter how desperate the defense got, no US military position has ever been overrun if a USAF gunship was on station. From Vietnam to the last battles of Iraq and Afghanistan. Whether it was the original "Spooky" to the current AC-130.

Star Trek has the Klingons arrival in Sacrifice of Angels/Favour the Bold Or the Cardassians turning and arriving in What you Leave behind Or the Enterprises arrival in First Contact
How can you forget the Deep Space Nine episode "Sacrifice of Angles" Where the Klingon Fleet comes to Star Fleet's rescue, allowing Sisko to make it to the station and wormhole to Prophet Delete the Dominion fleet coming through the wormhole?

That's in the first one!
Yes, B5 was great, Delenn's entrance was great. But, if a top 5/10/15/20/25 of B5 is ever done. Susan Ivanova's "Death Incarnate" scene is best. 2nd is the dressing down of the research team.
Or, and hear me out here, you could show these awesome scenes without jarring cuts or talking the ENTIRE TIME.
Missing- Act of Valor - River Extraction.
“You’ve all but won the battle when you have a literal army of the dead fighting for you”
Tell that to the Night King
Just a note the A130 is an airplane not a helicopter.
I've not viewed as many films and TV shows as many others out there, so my list can rightly be called a bit skewed and biased, but here it is:
1. The Ride of the Rohirrim (The Lord of the Rings, The Return of the King)
2. Optimus Prime riding Grimlock (Transformers: Age of Extinction)
3. The Clone Army makes its debut (Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones)
4. All Marvel Heroes Assemble (Avengers: Endgame)
5. The Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman destroy the Endeavour (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End)
6. "It's the Enterprise!" (Star Trek: First Contact)
7. The Klingons Arrive at DS9 (Star Trek: Deep Space 9, Season 6 Episode 5)
8. The Knights of the Vale destroy the Bolton army (Game of Thrones, Season 6 Episode 9)
9. Kit Fisto and the Gungans Arrive on Mon Calamari (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Season 4 Episode 1)
10. Dinobots vs. Devastator (The Transformers: The Movie, 1986)
Still no mention for the Klingons saving the Defiant in Deep Space Nine?!
A crime against art!
Picking the JJprise over the E saving the Defiant and the rest of the fleet over Earth is more of a crime
Serenity scene was epic...then heartbreaking...I am a leaf on the wind, watch me soar
"Quigley Down Under" is the most subtle reinforcements to the rescue ending.
According to TV Tropes these moments would be examples of "The Cavalry."
Funnily enough my favorite quote from that B5 Episode was "Right down their throat", which to me is the best line in any space battle as it means that knifefighting in coming
I'm glad B5 and Galactica get the recognition they deserve, but I wish you had also included Avatar. It's arguably not the best movie but the moment when all seems lost and suddenly the jungle animals break through the bushes to fight against the humans will never stop being awesome, especially with the underlying score ramping every emotion up to 100.
please, i was literally thinking about halfway through this list "hmm, I wonder if the Reavers in Serenity would count as reinforcements?" and then there they were 😂such an interesting scene in context too
Delenn :) she is missed...
the Computer Graphics in Babylon 5 out of 1996 was just plain amazing, if i recall it right, those graphics where all made with an AMIGA 4000
That B5 scene definitely deserves 1st place.
Delenn to this day is the best played character in any series ever to me.
14:05 Whilst the Logos is Niobe's ship, it's Mjolnir ("the Hammer") she flies into the Zion dock in Matrix Revolutions.
loved it so many good moments- brought back memories
Or just the Titan coming to the rescue blasting with the original TOS theme.
Ahhh the Babylon 5 clip...yesss ty!!
Love the series
The Delenn to the rescue was the quintessential cavalry and it's fair that it's the top one in this list. But as for "drop the Hammer" moments, when the hero gets serious about showing who's boss, there's some stiff competition from another line in B5:
"Who am I? I am Susan Ivanova. Commander. Daughter of Andrei and Sophie Ivanov. I am the right hand of vengeance, and the boot that is going to kick your sorry ass all the way back to Earth, sweetheart! I am Death Incarnate, and the last living thing that you are ever going to see. God sent me."
I agree, epic scene with epic lines, but it wasn't part of a reinforcement.
I always love when BumbleBee enters the fight
One of my favorites is Behind Enemy Lines (2001) when Owen Wilson is saved by Gene Hackman leading the attack helicopters. Anyone else?
Fix your audio levels. Quiet when you talk about each movie. Then loud when the movie scene happens.
I remember watching this! with my dad back in the day. Great movie
Up vote for B5. Named my daughter after her so that she'll remember to never be messed with!
the martian is an absbrilliant film amd that scene is just so well done
Real world fact to go along with #24. No matter how desperate the defense got, no US military position has ever been overrun if a USAF gunship was on station. From Vietnam to the last battles of Iraq and Afghanistan. Whether it was the original "Spooky" to the current AC-130.
@The TV Regent, you're going to need to make a third part because you missed perhaps the biggest reinforcement arrival in television(at least, in my mind). Stargate SG-1 Season 7 Episode 22 Lost City Part Two. Watch it, you'll see what I mean.
The covenant is a great war movie but one thing I gotta say if you see an AC 130 flying by tilted get the hell out of there
I mean, Babylon 5 has a few other good ones too...
...the allied fleet arriving in Shadows Dancing
...the League fleet arriving to help save Earth
...the Apollo arriving to save the Alexander.
of Course... Star Trek has the Klingons arrival in Sacrifice of Angels/Favour the Bold
Or the Cardassians turning and arriving in What you Leave behind
Or the Enterprises arrival in First Contact
How can you forget the Deep Space Nine episode "Sacrifice of Angles" Where the Klingon Fleet comes to Star Fleet's rescue, allowing Sisko to make it to the station and wormhole to Prophet Delete the Dominion fleet coming through the wormhole?
The Walking Dead 7x16? When the tiger comes out of nowhere and the reinforcements show up to help Rick and Carl take on Negan and the saviors.
#1 best choice. best line. even without seeing the human Captains face you can feel his *Oh shit* reaction to her arrival.
Blue saving Rexy was badass, even if she did have ulterior motives.
10:05 technically though, wasn't Aliens a sci-fi and not an action movie? not saying she was right, I'm sure there have been others before her (Halle Berry springs to mind) but yeah
