OMFG!! What perfect timing with this video! I have both lures in my amazon shopping cart and have been indecisive for a week now. lol Thanks for the video!
Die hard wife and Olaf, great vid! Also great mention of sample size limitations. For a more precise experiment you could have had your wife do the other lure at same time and cast right next to each other. Many more variables could be controlled for.
Nice quality fish! I fished that beach about 200 yards north from where you and your wife fished and I got skunked. I had my SP Minnow but didn't try it. My go to bait of choice when fishing for barred is the Berkely Gulp Alive Sandworms. I've gotta get back out after watching your video. Love it bro!
Heading out right now! Bought two lc pointers but unfortunately they didn't have the flash minnow available so im using this one hoping i didn't spend for nothing going for surf perch
Hey I really enjoy your videos! Since I live in North Idaho I don’t get to the coast too often, but I’m learning a lot from you for when I do get there! 😁 One suggestion... can you mention the date in each of your vids for those of us that need to know the best times to plan our trips to the coast? Thanks! 👍😁
Tom Kaneshige here’s an underwater video we did on it. ruclips.net/video/sdBn8CKbdMk/видео.html This is a bait that seems to be able to be worked pretty slow... we’ve had perch swallow this thing to the second hook.
The Lucky Craft makes in Japan and the Calissa Makes in China. I bought both lures and put them side by side, The Lucky Craft is way better quality lure. I didn’t use them yet, but I’ll pay a few dollars more for the Lucky Craft.
As a longtime lurker and fan, thanks for this video and everything you do for the fishing community! My thoughts on the Calissa is that it’s not “new.” The lure itself, as well as all of their patterns are cloned directly from the Lucky Craft FM110. Obviously this is not the first time a company has copied another company’s work - think Zoom copying Roboworm and numerous Megabass knockoffs....and it won’t be the last. All is fair game in the world of capitalism and business. And I don’t doubt that the Calissa works....because it’s a clone of a lure that’s been working for a long time. Not trying to say it’s right or wrong, but I think it’s fair to say that it’s somewhat divisive....as evidenced by previous history in the lure making world. What I find amusing is that the company describes itself as “innovative.” As a fellow content CREATOR, the grind is real...it’s really hard work and we are all doing our best to represent this sport we love so much, each of us in our own INNOVATIVE ways. Time will tell if the Calissa has staying power (I agree it has cost and availability [for certain patterns]) on its side. As for me, I respect creativity and hard work, even if the product might not be the best, at least it was striving for something that hasn’t been done before. Thanks again Adam for everything you do. Truly appreciate your spirit by which you run your channel. Wishing you another 1 mill view video! 🙏
Die Hard Fishing I’m in Southern California but it would be an honor to meet you one day. A NorCal striper is on my bucket list so I’m hoping to make it up there this year! Thanks again for all you do!
Yeaauuuhhh!!! Great job on the catch!!! For ur wifey that is 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻😜 I have a question for you Adam.. does your wife make your beanie's? I notice you wear alot of handmade ones..
for us here, the four hour window between -two hours before and 2 hours after high tide is nice because of lots of water movement. Fish seem to feel it and come close to eat the bait getting flushed into the surf
@@Hook2Cook I swung by after today's session,. I spoke to Tina and she said that the sardine glow is on the way and will be BACK in 5 days. BTW Thanks for letting me borrow your Callisa.
@@Hook2Cook 5 solid BSP on the Calissa. Joe was throwing the LC and only got 1. Then switched to the Calissa and got 4 more. And a MONDO 14 3/4. Calissa out fished the LC today.
OMFG!! What perfect timing with this video! I have both lures in my amazon shopping cart and have been indecisive for a week now. lol Thanks for the video!
Good luck out there!!!
Thanks for the shoutout Adam!
Anytime!
Nice to see you having good luck at Pismo with the lucky craft
Die hard wife and Olaf, great vid!
Also great mention of sample size limitations. For a more precise experiment you could have had your wife do the other lure at same time and cast right next to each other. Many more variables could be controlled for.
To be continued... lol
Have you noticed the Calissa casting farther? I get better distance on it for some reason
I have actually, was surprised by that. Not a huge difference but it has been casting slightly farther.

I never post more than a week or so after I shoot the video so the upload date is pretty close to the actual fishing date!
Die Hard Fishing Thats cool to know, thanks! 👍😁
Still have my 7 pack calissa super glow waiting to get back and hopefully wife lets me try them in SoCal will post how it works down in OC :)
Good luck!!!
How do you like them?
Peter Tran haven’t caught anything with them but only used it mainly once
Awesome adam! So far our tests LC VS CALISSA. Calissa is 2-0 to LC thrown right next to eachother at the same time
Good to know, I'll keep testing up here!
hot bite✔ free lures that work✔ olaf✔ wife luck✔ = killer day!
Can't argue with that!
I’m doing my own test this Sunday. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Good luck and have fun.
Let us know how you do!
Mario Resendez Thanks!
Hook2Cook Will do!
Good luck out there!
I just wish I had tried a 3 hook Jerk bait years ago in the surf !!
Keep em coming diehard!
Thanks for watching!
Good job! need more video like this
Bravo fish flip at 6:37
What are are you fishing if you don't mind me asking
nice catch what beach is this located?
Hi, those lures look light. How far can you cast and what setup do you used?
How might these work out on the Washington state beaches?
With the coupon code you can get 3 for $41! Why pay more for similar results? Cool to see you had a nice family day out there too!
Thanks Ed!!! Looking forward to more Calissa adventures!
If the swell is 2 to 4' is that two much action for surf perch?
Any difference on the action? Or the feel of the action? Any difference on the distance? Great video as always.

I somehow get better distance with the Calissa, I don't know why. It seems to transfer the bb better than the LC
The Santa Cruz Surfcaster you’re not the first to mention this!
In my limited experience, I seem to be getting slightly more distance on the Calissa as well!
Water sure looked calm at the beginning of the video. Looks like the perch were definitely biting!
It was hot!!!!
What beach are you fishing?
What rods are you guys using in this video?
What type of rod are you using...?
Which one casts farther?
great video - what beach is this?
love your dog! good video. I just lucky craft.
One has diffraction, the rainbow effect, and the new one didn't...
hi folks, you and you wife. what kind of hooks do you use surfishing
Nice video how many pound are you using
20 pound mono
Great vids, are you tying the 20lb braid straight to the lure or do you have a leader line. if your using a leader line what pound would you suggest
I use about 3 feet of leader, 20 pound test mono
Hello Sir, I have a stupid question i guess lol. How to know when there are sand crab on the beach before going to the beach?
no way other than to go check!
They both look like good lures.
They both work for sure!!!
Die Hard Fishing yes sir!
The Lucky Craft makes in Japan and the Calissa Makes in China. I bought both lures and put them side by side, The Lucky Craft is way better quality lure. I didn’t use them yet, but I’ll pay a few dollars more for the Lucky Craft.
Question, how do you rig these lures? Direct to braid? Leader? Etc. Thanks!
3 foot of 20-30 pound mono leader
Can u use a octopus j style fishing hook for bass and striperbsss
For sure!!! That is what I use when fishing sand crabs
did you go back to the same beach the next day ? which lure do you like ?
I just went yesterday and it was dead!!! I'll be back again soon.
watching ur video got me hyped up im off fri sat gonna go out there coming from sactown should i go to baker beach or ocean beach ur opinion please

She doesn't make them but she actually bought that one or me in Ireland! It has kept me warm many times out on the water.
Where are you fishing at bro? because I’m using the lucky craft minnows myself.
All up and down the Norcal coast!!!!

Holding the dog like a baby while fishing! LOL
lollololol, Thanks for watching!!
Would a 7' 3" Medium Heavy rod for bass fishing work with the Luckycraft 110?
Thanks.
8'6"-10'6" is the sweet spot for surf rods, salmon/steelhead style spinning rods
I prefer the spinning setups but you could definitely catch fish with that when the conditions are right!
@@Sshooter444 I guess I have to save money for a second rod. Thanks for the advice.
Those are some nice surf perch!
Thanks for watching!!
So the only camera you use is a GoPro? Nice picture and nice fish 🐠
I use a DSLR as well, but all the chest angles are GoPro.
there's always someone out there who is going to claim what is in their hand is better than what's in your hand, lol.
What breed is your dog Olaf?
Not trying to take anything away from Mrs. DH but I'm still convinced that Olaf is the fish whisperer?
lololol, maybe I should test it...
What's the weight on those baits?
Russ Dennis both the lures in the video are 5/8oz
Nice video 👍👍
I have 2 calisa glow sardines never use
What is The best tide for glow sardines calisa incoming or outgoing tide? If you don’t mind
for us here, the four hour window between -two hours before and 2 hours after high tide is nice because of lots of water movement. Fish seem to feel it and come close to eat the bait getting flushed into the surf
Hook2Cook appreciate
+1 from above
what lb line do you use?
30 pound braid for mainline and 20 pound mono leader.
I have never caught a surf perch
Now is the time!
Did you ever caught a redtail on LC SP minnow? All the videos I've watched only shows barred.
Yes! I have caught several retail on a flash minnow.
@@DieHardFishing thanks
Has anyone tried these lures on the Oregon/Washington coast?!
Danielle Wallace there’s a few people in our Facebook group who have and will update us if they do well. They catch a lot of redtail up there
How did your wife rig up her rod ? Looks like a 1oz weight ?
Promo code is not working.
It is only good for the sardine glow, sorry I forgot to mention in the video.
