Is it a versatile bass? I mean... more or the same as the first Duff signature? And is the pickguard already drilled in?
@@samuelc2399 yea actually I love it it better for if you play rock or more aggressive music definitely fun to play in my opinion I’m used to playing jazz bodies but I do wish they had pick up blender instead of a switch

I'm 54. Up until 9 months ago hadn't played an instrument since the sax in 6th grade, save some banjo lessons 10n years ago (which I have also resumed learning.). LOVE the bass. And GNR is my all time fave band along with Queen. So, of course Duff and Deacon are my fave bassists. I currently have a Squire 60's Vibe P and a Schecter Riot-4. I think I am going to have to add this bass! Great review and great sound! Thank you for the review Sir! New subscriber!

Recently have had my eye on this bass too. I see on the Fender site they don't show the deluxe version with the block fret inlays. Really like the look of this bass for sure.

awesome review. I just bought this bass an i wanted to know more about it. i have a small fender amp (rumble 25). what other gear you recommend for a beginner ? (besides the learn your instrument and practice)
Depends on what kind of music you play the most but, I always like a good chorus effect on my Bass. I play in a lot of 3 piece bands and it just seems to make my Bass sit in the pocket a little better. Especially when the guitarist solos. Good luck and keep learning!
2 questions:
1. Is this a versatile bass? (More versatile than the first Duff signature?)
2. Is the pickguard drilled in? Im not a pickguard guy.
It is as versatile as the first one, and it is drilled in.
Not as versatile. On the original you have a volume for each pickup, this version the volume is for both pickups.

If it’s a Precision bass then why does it read Jazz bass? Because it has a Jazz neck?
Exactly. That's basically what the original Jazz Special was.

I mean.. it says Deluxe Jazz Bass on the headstock... what's the deal with that.
I understand Duff‘s original bass was a short-lived model that was labeled as a Jazz bass back then even though it looked more than a P/J.
@@blackberryblossom His original bass was a jazz Bass Special, PJ bass, but the neck had a defect which made made the neck a precision neck. Duff liked that shape better, so that shape is on all his custom shop basses, as well as all his signature Basses.
