Really awesome well done video. Kyle with WP explained the system like he was a teacher, very easy to understand. Keefer just released a podcast discussing these forks on a 19 YZ450F . I wanted to have a better understanding how these forks work before listening to the podcast, this video was perfect.
It seems like it should only cost a couple of hundred dollars to convert your regular forks to the cone valve. Is it possible to just buy the individual parts to do this?
Like many have already said I wished they offered a special edition model that had this on it already. If they need to charge another $3000 so be it. KTM already pushes the envelope on how much you can charge for a dirt bike. Having to drop $6K on this set up is not worth it.
Dear, could you please send me the normal basic setting values for the back Trax shock? I cannot find any setting tips for the Trax. My weight is 90 kg and I ride a KTM EXC 300 manufactured in 2010 and I ride enduro tracks. Thanks, Csaba
I NEED these WP cone valve forks and the Trax shock for my older 2011 ktm-300 XC with the PDS shock! Where can I order these? Does WP still sell these for a older 300 XC? If so can the springs be set up for my body weight with gear on, which is 220 Ibs. I have the money now and I'm aware of the price of the WP cone valve forks as well as the Trax shock for PDS. Please let me know where I can purchase this top notch suspension?
Looks like they managed to get a ball valve action in a fork. Nederlands They're setting themselves up for semi-active with that rebound circuit I think.
I get it, I'm an engineer with an MBA. It would just be nice to have access to this quality of suspension off the floor. I've had 6 or 7 KTM's now and I have to get re-config and valving work done on every one (not just a KTM issue). I see that Beta has a program where you can spec race team quality components on your new bike, that's looking like an attractive option for my next bike. That said - Can I purchase these components for my 2016 350 xcf?
well, it ONLY looks great.... WP never works as good as stock OHLINS or even as good as regular stock KYB... i had WP on my bikes for 10 years - all of them sucked. and today KTM and HUSQVARNA still use that shit, and it still sucks. how dare they selling a "ready to race" enduro bikes with an open cartridge forks ???!!! what's this ? back to the stone age ?!
@@PlacervilleRick at least here in finland ktm dealer can get your bike set up with cone valve suspension off the showroom floor, it just costs a lot more. Or you can buy them separately for your bike.
so WP stand for exactly what we thought, its irrelevant that the meaning changed. also if this was referencing the color of powder then why isnt it white powder?

Interesting stuff, well explained. I loved the back story behind company's name. :P
Awesome video! I love this kind of detailed, in-depth tech coverage. Keep it up, Vital!

Great point...we're all spending the money already to improve our suspension for racing.
What will help my riding more cone valve forks or 40 practice sessions?
so a couple dollar parts instead of shims equals thousands of dollars more?

Looks great. Now why can't we order a new bike with this suspension as an option off the showroom?
