I would like you to do a tutorial on how to open the inner cartridge, disassemble the cartridge and explain what options we have with changing shims, thanks in advance!
So glad I found your Video Benji, I watched it before I replaced the springs in the forks on my 2021 450RFR. Very helpful. Rode 550km’s on it this past weekend. Forks feel a little too soft in the first part of the stroke and need more rebound I think. What would you do about the softness, more preload or more compression?
Great video! Helped me immensely on my cone valves. Question: Do you know the preload range? I cannot find it anywhere. I took the fork apart and counted 11-12 full turns in before the threads start sticking out. Unlike other forks where the preload stops at then end, looks like the CV will just thread themselves out and keep turning with no stop. Was wondering what WP recommended for the max pre load turns.
Hey mate! Thanks a lot! Well usually it goes from 0 to 4 turns max, never seen a setting list with more than that… But you gotta check the spring length to make sure it’s right (to be adjusted with spacers, measurements includes the spacers…) And yes it stops when you turn all the way to 0, which is counterclockwise if my memory is right (when disassembled, check what does the preload adjuster. 0 is when there is no preload on the spring…
I use this tool. I have bought it on this website, I am writing to you from Spain, I suppose you will find it safe in any distributor in your country. www.dream-machine.net/util-remover-apretar-valvula-conica-compresion-a-presion-wp.html
Nathan Shaw i did make the tool as I didn’t have a real back then, but many brands are making this tool as a 3/8 or 1/2 socket, much easier to use than my old home made one ;-)
Something weird happened to me... I noticed that my cartridge (without open it to change oil, because it was serviced 10h ago) it tends to contract.. this is not normal right? Any explanation?
@@benjimelot Thanks Benjamin for the video, I was looking forward to watching a good cone valve maintenance tutorial. As you have reported, it is raid prep, and there is a range for the rest of the disciplines and weight of the pilot. In my case 78 kg without equipment I put 375ml, 4.0 and 488 mm of spring c14 r16, for a ktm tpi 300 for enduro and a very good feeling with this setting.

Same, a video as described above would be great!
Will try to find time to work on it yes

Hi... can you make a rebuild video of WP suspension ROTA SPLIT with EDS?

3:45 I will try my cone valve. just wonder spanner and some special tool (to pressure?)
No pressure in these forks ;-)
Jätte bra! Hjälpte mycket. :)
thanks for this. super easy. could you please tell what the part numbers are for the bushings and seals?
Hello, part numbers are the same as oem WP 48mm forks ;-)
Perfect 🙌
Much appreciated
Awesome video. Thanks 🙏
My pleasure!
hey quick question, you said cone valves 48 in the beginning, but your wp stickers says 52?
great video
Hey mate, it’s only stickers, I had those left and fit it on the fork, that’s it ;-)
What is that 3 pin tool you used to open the top of the cartridge?
Nathan Shaw I have made a socket with 2 pins, homemade 😜
@@benjimelot 3:38 I seen that T handled tool more than once 😉... come on help a brother out?? 🤪

@@Miquel2909 he could be right to be fair, it could be made with a socket. But I'm sure it's a WP speciality tool. Thanks for the reply

Hi, what do you mean by “contract”?
@@benjimelot I mean the rod goes up without touching it. I think this happens because there is air inside..
@@senor7857 yeah, you may have some leaks from the bottom seals…
Hi, thanks for the video. Very useful.
Where can I buy the special tools for the cartridge? I have the 48 2021 cone valve model.
Thanks in advance
I've made my own one but I think Motion Pro has it
Where do you get seals and bushings for this forks?
Oem KTM ;-)
@@benjimelot ok thanks😃
@@benjimelot are they the same as stock forks?
Yes it is as long as it’s a 48mm fork and not a 52 (factory)
@@benjimelot ok awesome
How much oil in that suspension???
Hello, I put 390 ml in it. Motorex Racing fork oil 4W ✌🏻
@@benjimelot How much oil in that cartridge???
Robert Silva rpr motoracing I filled the cartridge with about 110ml of oil, any extra oil goes away when I compress the cartridge once bled...

What are the part numbers for the bushings? Are they the same as the stock AER48?
Sorry for delays bud, yes the bushing are same as stock ones
