Great video! I traded my 21 YFZ 450 SE in on a 22 700 Raptor. The Raptor is such a sweet machine. Went back and bought another 22 700 Raptor for my wife to ride. I am getting ready to install a Rekluse RadiusX clutch in her Raptor.
@@cloudnurdz6331 the raptor is at heart always been a trail quad so i dont see your reasoning. also rekluse is great especially for a newer/ish rider for a slower more technical based quad.
great video! i just swapped my a arms on my yfz with houser xc they are .75 narrow each side then had BNR revalve my suspension for trail riding. i am hoping to smooth out the yfz
Nice! Most fun ATV I’ve ever owned. That is my favorite place to ride. If you ever make it anywhere near Taylorsville, North Carolina, I highly recommend it.
I love both of those quads. I've had several raptors and they are great. I'll agree they are very different quads, but if you take a good look at actual specs, they aren't that much different
Sweet!! You def look more confident on the Raptor…you seem to maintain more speed through the trails. We will be camping at Bandits Roost at the Kerr-Scoot Reservoir in Oct, & I plan on bringing my Suzuki LTZ400 & riding at Brushy Mtn Motorsports Park…place looks like a lot of fun. Can’t wait!

Which would be a better choice for a beginner. Not so much worried about power and being able to handle it. I've ridden dirt bikes and snowmobiles so power won't be an issue. Just wondering what would be better in terms of an easier or more predictable ride. Mostly will be riding at the dunes and sometimes on trails.
I would say the Raptor. It is much more trail oriented and has more torque for the dunes. The YFZ is fun but takes much more work to ride and the suspension is really firm for trail riding.
Both machines yamaha make are so good and fun to ride, I just sold my 2022 yfz450 and also my 2021 raptor 700 . Torn between the 2024 yfz450r and the raptor 700r. Both are great, have tons of power, handle jumps, trails, sandy riding ect well but feel the raptor did better on hill climbs, going over logs, rocks and water crossings and on longer rides that were 8+ hrs was more comfortable esp having reverse. I wish Yamaha would combine the two and make a Yamaha YFZ 600 R with reverse gear, the suspension of the raptor, width of the 450 and the ride position of the raptor. That way it'd cover all bases for jumps and mx type riding, trails, hills, sand, water crossing, long rides, go over rocks logs ect like a raptor and be as comfortable as the raptor. Have the low end torque of the raptors and high end high rpm range and speed of the 450s. LoL idk such a hard decision , hoping the dealership let's me ride both around their parking lot and property a little tomorrow. Going to do a full akrapovic or Yoshimura exhaust, skid plates, handlebars and hand guards, air filter, wheels/tires and a seat with the little raised bump behind your butt to keep from sliding back as much like you see guys do on dirtbikes a lot, also front bumper/brush guard upgrade so either one will be set up for racing, trails, dunes ect just that reverse gear on the raptor and the 450 not having it is what's holding me up.
Great video dude. Yep, the 450 takes more energy to ride. The Raptor, especially when widened and tuned, is a more well-rounded sport quad. Good comparison 👌🏻
@@victorhernandez2933 naa bro you haven’t rode them yet then, the torch and the turns on the raptor you’ll get a better acceleration from a raptor, overall raptor hits the track and trails better than any quad out there the only other quad out there that will stand up with the raptor is a Can-Am 1000
I have rode them... and went ahead and bought a 450... the raptor has more torque down low but the yfz accelerates faster...not only that the raptor is not beating the yfz in a track... the raptor feels like it will tip over ok high speeds at turns...yfz over raptor if you replay want to have fun

Thanks for the feedback. Ive heard those Precison stabilizers are great. I dont have the YFZ any more but Im wondering now if the pre load was dialed up to high. I did adjust compression and rebound but didnt make a huge difference. It was rock hard and that made the steering jump like crazy too.
