It's classified as a flying wyvern evolutionary wise, it, unkalos and aknator are all flying wyverns who's wings evolved to be vestigial, aknator has the nubs of it's wings still. Their body shape is similar to tigrex or nargacuga, flying wyverns who's wings are evolving to be vestigial/fore limbs, hence why they can't fly. They're all flying wyverns but well, evolved too or evolving to not fly
Akantor actually has its own Frontier-fied version. Called as Hard Core Akantor. I say Frontier devs did a good job to portray Akantor as the Black God wyvern.
