Because Frontier is MH's autistic little cousin , where meaningful design choices and Fantasy-realism go down the drain in order to make everything colourful , "fast"-paces , low-iq gameplay to appease to weeb trash with sparkly lights and adding spikes to everything.
@Mylez z If you want to have shitty monsters with barely any thought put into it , you can just go and play God Eater . With so many games with increasingly stupid enemies/decreasingly meaningful design , it is nice that even the MhWorld/MH Gen can see what makes MH better than the rest and stick by it . If everything in Monster Hunter was "special" then nothing would be.
@Mylez z I know because back in the day i had to follow a fuckton of tutorials just to play it and in the end it wasn't worth it , it was barely a Monster hunter , had more in common with God eater in a lot of things , the only thing i liked were the "boss rush" quests , whichare barely different from multiple monster hunts in World or Gen . A faster Paced MH wouldn't have hurt , but old-styled monsters still had weird hitboxes , some animation were unclear and weird , the "freeze" when you hit monsters was annoying as shit andafter a while the only thing that scaled up the "difficulty" were high damage and those weird combo attacks that 1shot you , all balanced by the fact that skills in that game were basically the ones in the Mh main series but boosted to the stars .
@Mylez z Early game it is basically just a normal 3Rd gen MH game , later just becomes pointless with useless visual flair and totally opposite what the core design of MH has always been : If you can see a monster part that has appendixes , probably it can use it to attack .
@Mylez z It is not my personal taste . It is the developer's taste , as they already many times have stated , it is the community taste , as the numbers have shown , and it is common sense , as seeing how if Monster Hunter goes full fantasy nothing remains to separate it from Dragon's Dogma or any other fantasy game ever .
Honestly people don’t respect the detail they put into most of the monsters. People say that they are biologically impossible but I say there are a lot of monsters who seem fantastical but have some realism that merges very well with that fantastic idea. Our red Wyvern buddy here is a great example. He looks like a creature adapted to the desert even if people disagree I can show of some vibrant desert animals or creatures in real life that swim in the sand and shoot it as a weapon! MH is among my favorite series.
I'm personally not one to grasp the controversial luxury of giving my two cents conversing the myriad and over exaggerated statements about realism/fantasy in a monster's design or even making a flawed comparison to those in mainline games, but the whole Monster Hunter franchise is and always will be among one of my favorite video game series because I adore both aspects equally. Along with how awe inspiringly beautiful everything is in design. And I mean _everything._ Plus the communities are the best I've ever experienced in my life. Especially Frontier's. It doesn't always have to be about the monsters y'know? Honestly that's something people tend to forget about most often.
Fun trivia, Akantor actually has its own Frontier-fied version. Called as Hard Core Akantor. I say Frontier devs did a good job to porytray Akantor as the Black God wyvern.
Probably one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard in any game. Kinda wished is fight was a bit less...boring? Always felt like I was just wailing on him without any retaliation from his side, he's a bit sluggish and when you figure out his gimmicks he becomes quite the easy fight. Still a very cool monster and would complete the Akantor, Ukanlos and Odi trio, if he ever comes to mainline.
100% agree. His attacks don't really do all that much to pose a threat to you unfortunately, but at least they're extremely fun to watch. And the huge amount of atmosphere really makes up for it
Typical hateful MHF critic with a blunt edge realism/fantasy argument as well as comparing the monsters to God Eater as if it was an issue; and left by saying "I'm glad that the main series still has standards" or something like that. Don't worry about it.

Alolan Blastoise is more important than the flamewar down below

Damn can we talk about that entrance? That was SICK!
Odibatorasu definitely deserves to come to the main series. I still don't know why he isn't

Frontier Forward started with a BANGER monster and ended with another BANGER monster, very high standards even for a Monster Hunter game
Great video.
I just wish people didn't decide to be toxic as all hell in the comments of these vids.
Jesus Christ this comment section is fucked.
Tell me about it...
@@GBA-049 best of luck my man, keep up the good content
why people are talking about toxic comments but I don't see any of these comments? They are all disappeared?

I've heard that they cancelled mhfz..
Yeah, this was recorded before the shutdown, there is private server stuff in the works, but it's not really close to being out to the public

Just a better Akantor or Ukanlos. I want it in the mainline games.
