Fred Willard: The Funniest Straight Man A Fond Farewell. He was that rare kind of actor who, whenever he turned up, always made you think: "This is gonna be good!"
He was the best part of the Christopher Guest movies imo. My favourite line of his "You know what they say about blind prostitutes? You really have to hand it to them!"
You should have added in some Fernwood 2-Nite stuff. He was a master of dead-pan... he had a line once where he said something like, "During World War 2, you could kill as many Germans as you liked... but boy, you do that nowadays and you're in a lot of hot water." He says it so innocently that it's 100 times funnier.
Just to be clear, Fred is not the “straight man” in these roles. In comedy, the straight man is the “serious” one while the other guy is all the funnier for it. In the Smothers Brothers, Dick was the straight man.

YESSSS!!!!
Best in Show is a movie I can watch over and over. Fred Willard was great.
A comedy god. Completely offensive with a thick armor of congeniality.
“…if you had a little jockey on ‘em…” 😂😂😂
this was wonderful... loved him
Nice tribute! That dry humor always gets me. He was so good in Best in show/Anchorman

Remember him from Fernwood Tonight 😂❤❤❤😂
@sterlingfury And me, I'm Jerry Hubbard!
Yeah, I can't believe they didn't mention it!
He's at his peak in the Fernwood Tonight TV show with Martin Mull. The episode with Tom Waits is a classic!!!
"Yesterday, I had to crawl under the house to check on a leak. I crawled under; I didn't tell anybody and they didn't know I was under there"
Beautiful tribute to one of the funniest people ever
His short role on Space Force was hilarious. And everything else he was in of course.
Great compilation of a legend. Thank you.
RIP Fred... you will be missed.
I was in a depressed mood until I saw this. I love Fred.
Fred Willard played "Fred Willard" in every movie like John Wayne played "John Wayne"...and I'll watch every last one of them.
Nice tribute, the guy was brilliant!
Fred Willard certainly had a one of a kind style.

You are correct sir
He was unique.
"How much do you think I could bench press?"
"Put the bow and arrow down and let the marching band go. We'll call it a prank!" - RIP to a legend
WAAA HAPPEN!
I got a real red wagon!
Such a funny, funny man. RIP
Fernwood 2-Night changed my life. Why is everybody dying? 😿
I remember when he was bicoastal, that is, if you consider the Mississippi River a coast.
He was so quick.
So good
RIP to a legend
Guy was so funny
You forgot that he voiced Swindle in transformers animated
@3:55 is he wearing the same jumpsuit he wore in waiting for Guffman
This was Vox before Hell.
I CAN'T DO MY WORK
I don't think so!
Fred Willard
