McKean and Higgens during the kimono unpacking scene in the hotel without fail makes me laugh every time I see or even think about it, “we’re only here for 72 hours, you’ve packed 7 kimonos and I don’t know how many tea ceremonies we’ll get to be having here.”

These 'mockumentaries' are nothing less than genius! A total ballet between fact and stereotype. The most beautiful and fun way to see both sides at the same time...and be totally entertained.

Went to see this twenty years ago. Don’t remember laughing out loud while watching but on the way home laughed hysterically. Got the DVD for Christmas and lent it to a work associate. She said she didn’t find it funny at all….then while we talked about certain scenes she laughed until she peed.

Watching ‘A Mighty Wind’ I almost 😅 died laughing, although my friends and family can’t get it, I feel so blessed that I enjoy, and have some of the insights to cherish these treasures. The intelligence and art behind the script and the actors’s deliveries in these brilliant mocumentary documentaries are like magic happiness elixirs for me! Thank you so much!! 💖🇦🇺👏🤗
I just want and expect more, more and MORE please!

I legit judge people based on if they’ve seen Best In Show or not.

Scott and Stefan are absolutely the best couple in the film. They are just so good to each other throughout. And while they are catty about Sherry and Christy (let's face it, Christy deserves it) they are kind and welcoming to Jerry and Cookie when they really needed some cheering up. The only possible negative in their little story is the way they met, lol.

When i first saw this film i had to watch it twice as i was laughing so much i missed some. of the jokes. Also when Fred Willard appears he absolutely steals the film. Genius.

I can’t believe its been 20 yrs!!! 😱no movie ever made me laugh so hard in my life & gave me SO MANY lasting memories and inside jokes…thx to all who had a hand in that movie! And thx for this video :)

I laugh whether I’m watching it or thinking about it. What’s shocking to me is that I’ve shown this to people who didn’t get it at all and failed to see the humor.

Yea I found this channel when I searched John Cazale. His 2 parter on his acting is incredible and really shows how under appreciated his short film career was.

Great video. You must be a wizard or a genius.
The only thing I would add to it is that the whole Mockumentary or Rockumentary in this case was The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash. a combined effort between the Monty Python gang and SNL. It was an entire episode of Saturday Night Live. It was first aired on March 22, 1978.
I'm sure that Rob Reiner saw that and was inspired to do This is Spinal Tap. It was those trousers.

Thanks for this. I stumbled on Guffman soon after it was released on VHS, and anticipated all of Guest’s mocumentaries thereafter. Each one delivered (though Consideration may not have done as well). Best in Show is certainly just a wonderful piece of cinema and culture.

When I first saw 'Spinal Tap' it was shown to me as a 'Real' documentary..I believed it and laughed and laughed.
''Best in Show'' is great , too. Loved it. Characters ARE so likeable and 'Familiar'.
Usually, I don't 'Get'American humour, but this was lovely.

I think once Christopher Guest or as he's known in Britain The Right Honorable The Lord Haden-Guest realised that if you got the right group of people who Instinctively know where the funny is without it sounding forced then all you need is a basic premise to start production.
In sports terms they would be an all star team who don't need coaching

I LOVE these movies! To me they are a true high point in comedy. Love A Mighty Wind also. The core cast is totally under-rated. Levy, O'Hara, Coolidge, McKean- all great.
