Being a photographer/film maker myself and a passionate fan of The Office, I just wanted to say thank you for this video essay. It is an amazing breakdown of the cinematography and really neat to see how it evolved over the seasons. I appreciated how you talked about the characters at times putting on a front because the cameras are present. It effects how they behave and I have always believed that, certain characters were more aware than others of how they were being perceived and thus behaved differently than they would in real life. For instance, I have thought that Kevin, who appears to be at least somewhat competent in the first few seasons, becomes more and more ridiculous and less intelligent over time on purpose. This was because he knew he would get more screen time doing more ridiculous things and making more mistakes. In the end, he did get more screen time it cost him his job. In the same way, I think Andy goes off the rails, constantly breaking outside of his character, in the last 2 seasons, because he is trying to get his acting career going sees the documentary as his opportunity to lay the ground work for that. The Office is the most best sitcom ever I watched. In fact, Such an epic comedy with emotional touch. Awesome camera movement. Perfect story, I can't even write how much this sitcom is good! Just perfect.
One other brilliant use of this style is when Micheal escapes the cameraman and runs away. When Holly eventually finds him on top of the building it has so much impact because we never saw him while he was gone. We finally found him. It never cut to him because he was alone, no cameraman around.

Dude I never realised that Jim, unlike the others, always looks at the camera during interviews!
This video really gave me a new perspective of my most favourite sitcom❤️
The Office (or maybe Jim) made me feel like I’m one of their co-workers, which made it difficult to leave. Probably why a lot of us repeat the whole show right after the last episode. 😌💗
Just found your channel & I'm obsessed. A lot of videos analyzing the production & writing of the Office on RUclips, but there are almost none on the camera work (normally just a brief aside) & yours is certainly the best!
Wow you really taught me to enjoy the camerawork, i guess I just never noticed because of the hilarious writing and performances
Incredible video. Very well done.
The office is objectively, the best tv show ever
You've articulated everything so well here. I'm a massive fan of the office. I think the camera movement is a character in its own right and what makes the show so unique.
This made me want to watch The Office again for the hundredth time 😄
thank you for your THE OFFICE videos. I love them all. I'm going to share them with my mom. Please continue. Thanks.
Wow this video is VERY well done, great job! And brings up many many great points! 👍
One of the best The Office Related videos I've seen, Thank you. It makes so much sense, Saludos de Mexico.
I never thought about how the cameras were by itself characters in this show. Awesome video!
The Office is the most best sitcom ever I watched. In fact, Such an epic comedy with emotional touch. Awesome camera movement. Perfect story, I can't even write how much this sitcom is good! Just perfect.
now I can't watch the office without noticing the missing camera shots damn it!
The Office was literally perfect. The characters, the camera work, the writing, everything.
I am so happy that you mentioned The Thick of It!
Props to the camera guy planning on going to Mexico for three months with Andy and Micheal
One other brilliant use of this style is when Micheal escapes the cameraman and runs away.
When Holly eventually finds him on top of the building it has so much impact because we never saw him while he was gone. We finally found him.
It never cut to him because he was alone, no cameraman around.
That was a very good analysis.
The best show ever made! There’s no two ways. *PERIOD*
One of the most amazing shows for so many reasons ... including this. Thank you for this vid!
This is a great video and really opened my mind about the office
now I have to rewatch with all of this in mind
The only reason i like this show .
Because they don't add laughs to know us know when to laugh
Hahahahaha
Yaaaas so glad you showed scenes of the thick of it with the legendary Peter Capaldi. Two of my favourite Comedy Shows
You guys should watch the thick of it, if youve watched the office till the end and youre missing it ♥️
