I’ve recently started watching The Office UK, and I find it to be way more different than the US Series. The US Series may be happy, funny, and romantic to appeal to the average American audience, however the downside to it is the further distance from a realistic work environment, it is unrealistic. But for the UK Series, I found it to be more depressing, accurate, realistic, and genius, its easy to tell how much thought actually went into this series, and this isn’t the stuff I’d expect from The Office

The assessment of this show seems to be based upon social norms. Not everyONe fits into the herd of sheep so easily . Society has a way of persecuting individuals who don't fall in line and just be mindless and asleep like everyone else. And it’s not like he had overnight success so i wouldn’t call it unrealistic either.
I watch the US version for a hopeful future vibe and the UK one for a reality check.
I would in some parts, compromise with Michael Scott as my boss but can't do the same with David Brent!
Thanks youtube for showing me the notification bell does in fact work!
And I'm glad I hit it for this channel!
Brown nose
@@zzaacchh So acknowledging the fact that RUclips's bell notification system works even for smaller channels is a bad thing? The guy has 11k views on this channel, and so the fact that RUclips still shows me his content is uplifting (knowing that their systems actually work).
Nic Bova, I never said it was bad I’m just not into ass play.
@@zzaacchh hahaha alright that's good lol
It's clearly that UK office is so depressing, and it's very weird because it is a comedy show. While the US office on the other hand, It's very funny and also it made me cry several times. When Michael realized something that makes him cry, also makes me cry, or Pam having relationship issues with Roy makes me cry also. One scene that I cried so much and so long in Season 3 is when Jim saw Pam's letter with the medal while having his interview in the corporate office says something "Don't forget us when you're famous" I really cried into that, but it did not made me depressing. They're still at the point where in, make it cryable, but remember this is a comedy show.
5:58 Actually happened in the office us
Good job explainng things mate. Love your voice and the quality
“I’m not superstitious, but i’m a little stitious”

Isn't it interesting that both Martin freeman(Tim) and John Krasinski(Jim) have both deservedly been extremely successful in their careers.
John has had one succesfull role after the office. Steve is the one who's done extremely well
@@abirdkilledmeh i mean, John is also a pretty successful filmmaker
I’ve recently started watching The Office UK, and I find it to be way more different than the US Series. The US Series may be happy, funny, and romantic to appeal to the average American audience, however the downside to it is the further distance from a realistic work environment, it is unrealistic. But for the UK Series, I found it to be more depressing, accurate, realistic, and genius, its easy to tell how much thought actually went into this series, and this isn’t the stuff I’d expect from The Office
I just found your channel and I love it!! Your video essays are awesome. Thanks so much
coming from the UK, when it comes to characters for me its:
David BrentRoy
Chris Finch>Todd Packer
For me. All uk.
Micheal Scott over Brent is a horrible shout.
No one really wants to be there is the vibe I'm getting from watching this
That’s essentially the point of the show
The face of martin freeman is just brilliant
I'm loving your channel!!! I can't believe you don't have more subscribers because wow, what quality!! Keep up the great work
I was so happy for David for standing up for himself
If you appreciate bittersweet art and nuance, UK Office is the best... If you like slap stick derp derp lets drag a show on for 9 season even when the main character has left, the US one for you
Great reviews!
Luv from Portugal 🇵🇹
The U.K. Office is way more depressing/cringey but waaaaaaay more accurate
@@orin4654 He doesn't mean cringey in a bad way. He means it employs a lot of cringe humour that is supposed to make the audience cringe especially with how relateable it is.
That’s where the word "cringeworthy" comes into play.
WATSON ?
same i thought it was a parody
It's good to see an essay of the UK version, the one that's meant to be. It's darker, which is how it was originally written. David is the idiot that tries too hard, similar to Michael Scott but Michael gets sympathy (American humour) unlike British humour where we laugh at his failure
British Dwitght and Jim are so straaaange
No. American Tim and Gareth are so straaaaaange
@@Dfj1993 No.

Tim and Gareth came first my American friend.
great breakdown !
I only just subbed to your channel but I love your take on The Office UK. I have seen quite some videos about it now, but yours really stands out.
Michael Scott is how people like David Brent perceive themselves, David Brent is how Michael Scott actually is.
i think you got that a bit off
Oh boy this is so dumb.
If I have to re-read this one more time I swear I'm going to have a stroke
apt. Apt observation Robert
So David Brent is how he perceive himself, ok
well this was depressing
Thumbs up on the UK Office ... Classically created
"At least START on him, and than move on.. " 😂😂😂
She said no btw
So.. erm: Legion?
Wow this is sad that many people can’t deal with conflict. Actually, it’s funny.
Hahaha
Sometimes its better to squash the beef right then and there, than having it fester into something dangerous.
I am very bad at dealing with conflict.
Another interesting video.
The Office literally made me cringe, laugh and cry. Such a good story. Love the US Office but I feel it didn’t know how to start and it didn’t know how to stop.
If the US office stopped around season 6, and just skipped straight ahead to the last episode. It wouldve been better for it.
Who Dat Ninja I mean season 7 is great also and season 8 has its moments, it’s 9 that’s horrible.
Definitely liked the English version a bit better than American one. I like the shows Ricky did!
3:36 notice that david's beer is all gone and everyone else's is half LMFAO
I had a boss who was a cross between Brent and Michael. The guy was toxic! I barely survived, intact, during his stint at my work place. He finally moved on and died not long after. I couldn’t have asked for a more pleasing ending!
I second the motion
Dwight looks skinnier and...British....
Night1x he looks like he hasn’t slept at all
No fucking shit
Tim and Dawn, Wow, the US version sure is lazy with names.
👾🦖
yeah fuck them for not coming up with original names let them burn in hell
I’m pretty sure that Jim was actually named after the showrunner’s college roommate or something.
honestly i watched the US version first and recently i was bored and i decided to watch the UK version personally i like it a lot more then the US version and the series ending was perfect
"four eyesES"
Can anyone draw any parallels between the Merchant/Gervais Office, and Parks And Recreation? Given Parks & Rec is a spin-off of a spin-off, I'd have thought there'd be some similarities… but other than Anne and Ben's occasional looks to camera being a little like Tim's, I can't see any.
So this has more "I'm dead inside" vibes? Hell yeah
You’re missing the point
@@endi3386 Okay
That’s not a good thing
this video makes the prospect of getting a job terrifying for me.
It's a little odd you compare confronting someone in a situation where it's reasonable to do so to child abuse.
My friends hate this show but they just aren't into media like that. It is such a perfect representation of the dry and wacky real world. Wish more people would understand the nuances.
0:00 …Is that one of those two dudes in Pirates of the Caribbean?
oh my god is tim the one who acts in sherlock?
Yes
Yes he is indeed & I love him in that better.
This is 100% me. I work in an office & they all annoy me except my boss is pretty nice & doesn't annoy me.😂
Davids charac is like of a 10yr old, while Michael Scotts is 7.
I'm David Brent.
Omg this version of the office looks so weird and just bleak
Thanks
I'm so in. Subscribed on my 5th video In a row!
isn't Clap your hands by Parov Stelar?
British people have a self deprecating sense of humour, which is why this became such a success
Personally I think your narrative is a little off. I don't think that gift is a reminder that you don't have to settle it was more of a message of even though I will not be in your life, I do want you to at least enjoy yours. It was pretty clear he loved her, but this is where it hit her the hardest. That's just my interpretation though.
Epic
bos massive and his not made out of plastic lamo gold
UK office is more realistic
I’m convinced that both of these shows have made me a cross between Jim and Tim. Mix of passive aggressive with a lot of silence in between conversation so it looks like I’m paying attention but I really just want them to go away.
Same
1:11 wait...
Is that Bilbo Baggins?
Yes it is
The better version
Martin Freeman is amazing
Sad
Martin Freeman?
Lol
Which office was first, brustish or american?
Brustish

there's no doubt that uk version is more realistic but i am already enough depressed...that's why i prefer us version.
The assessment of this show seems to be based upon social norms. Not everyONe fits into the herd of sheep so easily . Society has a way of persecuting individuals who don't fall in line and just be mindless and asleep like everyone else. His insecurities come from knowing who he is and knowing he's not well perceived, at least not the way he wants to be.
We're all different. And we all need to learn to just Deal With It!
you sound like an annoying twat exactly like david bret
You've used many words to say almost nothing
I could never watch the US version because I loved this one first.
Tim looks like Bilbo Baggins
It is..
I just can't get into the British one.
Yanks don’t get subtle humour
@@thomsboys77 I get it.. I just don't find it funny.
@@StreetDogSteve ………so you don’t get it???
The UKs Office is probably one of the 5 shows that are actually watchable that came from the UK
A big chunk of US sitcoms were remakes/rip-offs of U.K. shows but whatever you say bud
