never listened to this band but this is a remarkably efficient way to do things, especially with the 2 FOH signals. Soundmen must love working with them.
How do you learn all these things except having a burning passion for also being a sound technician coupled with your musical career? I understand almost nothing on how everything is running on stage, but I guess that comes with experience.
You know I just realize something. I noticed with some bands, (at least to my knowledge), they have quite a lot of high-end gear for touring, but you do wonder how much money they have left over after investing in this gear, since half of this stuff must cost of fortune. Even some of the newer bands manage to acquire such high quality gear, even though they just started out 2-3 years ago. Am I the only one who thinks that every time when I watch one of these?
Depending on the gear, they might be sponsored by the company. Ernie Ball definitely gave them those guitars for free or at a deep discount. As for the light show and all the high-end gear to run their tracks. A lot of the gear makes their set-up more compact/lighter, so they spend less on gas towing their trailer. For INK especially, I can almost guarantee that this gear hast saved them a ton on gas alone, plus it has improved their live show, possibly helping increase their draw.
We'll look into it, but ultimately it's up to the band. As for Lorna Shore, we've tried to get them for Bus Invaders, but they have never been interested. We'll try for Bus Invaders or Gear Masters next time they're in Chicago.
It's fascinating how similar this is to the rig I built for my band with nothing preconceived. I too landed with an Axe-FX, Behringer X32, Sennheiser IEM's, and a DMIS light controller. I found some different components though with Line 6 wireless guitar systems, a VocoPro wireless mic kit, and a Donner wireless DMX rig.
wow, ice Nine Kills on that Fishman Fluence game?! and look at all that direct-audio gear for stage conveniences.... dammmmn metalcore bands are getting more and more efficient and economic with gear.
couldn't have written it more straightforward honestly. What i meant is you don't typically see this level of gear worship from bands like these. That's really all I meant. the dedication to perfect live symmetry is not something I have seen often in metalcore in and of itself, not to this degree. it is humbling and I really dig their setup 150%!
Haha, good spot. The rig costs thousands of dollars yet it's only $225 for lifetime professional license for Reaper. Still cool to see they're using it though, incredible setup.
basic question: How does the bassist use that tuner if its in the rack? isnt the rack off stage so wouldent he need to go off stage between songs just to tune??
I've seen INK 4 times and I love their music and respect the set up they use, but sometimes the backing tracks are excessive. I get they're very 'theatrical' in their stuff but when you hear guitar tracks live and seeing him not play for a few seconds... Other metalcore bands I've seen also use tracks either for synths, bass, or guitars so I know they're not the only ones using tracks but it sometimes bugs me even though I love their music.
It seems like a waste of money when you see bands like this live when a big 80-90% of what’s going on is not being played. A big part of what makes live shows great was the thought of how a band would pull off a horribly overproduced album live, with no prerecorded playback! I’d rather hear a reduced version of the song with no backing tracks, otherwise you might as well just put the whole album as recorded on over the PA and dance like an idiot to it!
ik you asked this six months ago but i also have an answer: i read somewhere he has a lot of anxiety, and didnt enjoy touring as much as he did recording and producing. he kinda 'left' to pursue the producing side of his career, and i believe he produced a motionless in white song!
@@jaderyderr yeah after I asked I looked into it and figured out he was producing but I never knew of the anxiety part of it..that makes so much more sense thank ya bro!

frost beam super impressed with their setup too. Before even check out their music I'd like to see them live...to see all these gear in action
It's definitely very convenient and makes it super easy when they have to plug-in-and-play, which is a lot of tours!
Run em flat and just make sure they have what they need in the monitors they probably don’t use. Fair enough, I won’t complain about that pay day.
@@reogh So, did you go see em?
we need a new one!! updates for ice nine kills!!
Hopefully we can get them again in the future.
thatd be rad!!

@@digitaltourbus but who did he learn it from?
@@ToaNaterFilms A lot are self-taught, learn from doing, or from online tutorials.

Ice Nine Kills shows off the gear they use on tour!
Who should we film with next?
Crown The Empire!!!
Patrik Hévizi We've got a ton of videos with those guys! Have you had a chance to watch any of them?
Digital Tour Bus Yes, but I think a Gear tour with them could be possible! :) :D
Patrik Hévizi We'll try on their next tour. I was on vacation while they were in Chicago on their current run.
Veil of Maya with that beautiful pink jackson Marc has got.

Being in a band is expensive work, these guys have definitely worked long and hard to be able to acquire this gear over a span of time.
Same thoughts. Guitars alone already cost arms and legs
so he is the guitar player and then basically the sound and lighting guy
I need to see them live.
They're awesome!
Dude, definitely a killer show!
they're the first band i have ever seen. they were awesome
Darius Bates Definitely an awesome band!
Cyanide Soul yea they're amazing live!
Great episode number for a great band

We've tried. Unfortunately, it's not up to us, it's 100% up to them.
I like this video.

hopefully you guys can do an updated one with Dan or Ricky. Also have you guys tried doing one with Lorna Shore?

Justin....

The rack is onstage, so between song he just has to go to were it is if he's having issues with his tuning.
Pretty cool
I think if you guys could get Asking Alexandria on here that would be dope.
We've been trying to get them for Gear Masters, but haven't had any luck yet unfortunately.

Why did JD leave the band?
Just checked the band's Wikipedia and it looks like he's on "hiatus" from the band. Not sure when he'll be back.

Sorry! We let the bands decide which members participate and JD was our guy for this video.
If I recall correctly he uses Ibanez ATKs with everything stock.

We'll try. It's 100% up to them though, not us.
Do you guys run a click/guide track while you play?
Why is there tape on the side of the neck?
Maybe to mark the neck so it's easier to play on a dark stage?
For glow in the dark, on a dark stage.
SJC head on a DW kit lol
Conor played sjc thats why he has his snare there, thats a house kit bud.
