Simone Simon was such a pretty girl and a wonderful singer. She wowed audiences in Europe and in North America.

And she had an endless stream of men in and out of her bedroom. She was a high-miler.

The brother relationship here reminds me of "Sabrina" -- Humphrey Bogart and William Holden. Always enjoy the very evanescent Simone Simon. Thanks for the upload, a nice Sunday morning break from the news.

Simone Simon's singing had all the dogs in the neighborhood howling on my front porch.

What a cute movie, and Simone Simon stole the show!
Does She remind You of Anyone?
Simone’s high soprano and fast tremolo, plus her short fly-away curls, and also her sweetly- innocent (but fun) personality - as ‘Renee’ - remind Me greatly of the heroines from Walt Disney’s early animated fairytales.
…In particular (and especially in the last scene) Simone reminded Me of Snow White, which made Me curious to compare the dates of those 2 films; I wasn’t surprised to learn that ‘Snow White’ was made/released 1 yr prior that this movie.
…Think it inspired the casting of Simone Simon???
    (I do.
Lol; is it a coincidence that ‘Renee’s surname is ‘Le Blanc’?! )
    Thank-You for this!!!

So do I. I was born in 1943, and even in 7th Grade I thought she was good-looking, had nice legs, and I realized that her voice was an on-film thing. She was the type of girl I wanted to marry. ❤ *You should see what I got instead. 💣💣💣💣💣💣

1:10:51 is 15 seconds the same italian song "Vieni, Vieni" as Adriana Caselotti (Snow White, Walt Disney) sang at Martini's in It's a Wonderful Life (1946)

The 'mismatched brothers' theme also turns up in the Robert Young movie Vagabond Lady, with Young as the playboy and Reginald Denny the sensible brother, as in Sabrina. And the same idea figures in the drama Java Head, with two brothers, one businesslike and the other adventurous, always at odds with each other.

Two young men ( Don Ameche, Robert young) try to wrest their father from the clutches of a gold-digger-but by mistake, they think the woman is a young nightclub singer ( Simone Simon) with whom they both fall in love 🥰-the adversial relationship between the two brothers might remind some people of Sabrina-Humphrey bogart and William Holden-the brother who runs the company gets the girl at the end! Joan Davis and Bert Lahr also are good in the flick! 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊❤

Very funny spousal abuse scene = NOT. In fact, it’s shocking but perhaps audiences back then found it hysterical. They also didn’t mind a singer dropping a petal in your drink; tho I use the term ‘singer’ with great hesitation as I don’t quite know what those sounds were coming out of that girl’s mouth😳❔

Not as good of a movie than I remembered seeing decades ago, but I still enjoyed it. I am sure the charm of Simone Simon is what has been stuck in my memory all these years. Without question, it is still there. Robert Young was annoying and Don Ameche was lousy as a drunk.

I never liked shrill singing voices. I always preferred Margaret Whiting's soft and low voice, or Julie London's, or Rosemary Clooney's or Dinah Shore's.

I have found out that people nowadays being used to some some pretty strange sounds from today's performers don't know about sopranos who had their time for hundreds of years, including most of my life. This one is a light soprano rather than an operatic one
