The Old Lamplighter - The Original Houghton Weavers

- This was my late father's favourite Houghton Weavers song. It was recorded by him somewhere between 1978 and 1980 from the programme 'Sit Thi Deawn' (shown on BBC North West) on to VHS video cassette (Hence the lack of quality).
I wish to say a sincere thank you to the Houghton Weavers, whom have given me their kind and full written permission to upload these videos to You Tube. My aim is bring a fresh awareness of the Houghton Weavers to a new public and to celebrate the memory of my father whom adored their works.
Please feel free to comment on the videos, but also be aware that I will remove, without any reply or reason, any comments that I deem to be offensive, rude or plain inane. Thank you

This takes me back to my childhood. We used to watch them every year at Gracie Fields theatre, Rochdale. I was a member of their fan club, had their autographs and we used to play their tapes all the time in the car. Happy memories yet makes me sad for days gone by and people we've lost.

Thanks for your comments. I do have more from the VHS tapes and I will be uploading songs as my time allows. I can't put up a whole programme though, as the HW have only granted permission to put up small clips (for BBC copyright reasons) and don't want to break the trust that they have put in me - sorry about that.
Went to see these perform last night in Derby. I'm ashamed to admit that I hadn't heard of them prior to my Grandfather inviting me to go to their concert with him, but at 27 I think I have a slight excuse! Excellent evening though, really enjoyed the music.
I do hope there are more of these, just brilliant, used to love the jokes too
