Great thing about the Pye Dubouis era [spelling] was the tongue in cheek lyrics that with humour tackled a lot of horse shit and day to day crap of the era and I suppose the universal crap of modern humanity for a younger person... "I keep telling everybody, should have been a doctor." - Shades of the yuppies to come lol Ah well. Brilliant band with the playful keys of Terry to the throaty vocals of the head Jester himself Kim. Those two and their contrasting sounds made for the Max sound really... not to underplay the big ass drum and bass rhythm section driving them along. Saw them live a number of times. They used to play up and down town Toronto for a few years, schools even before anybody started to take some serious notice... should have been a lot more serious. The Europeans would rip up seats in theaters but alas, no records on the shelves of the towns they'd play... screwed by rotten distribution practices of the day. A true underdog story of underdogs pulled under. Nothing pretty about that sadness except when you listen to the records :-) "2000 years we propped up Jesus thinking we'd make ends meet? Christ No!"
And then sometimes you'd get lucky - I found all of the CDs reissued at a CD store (now gone) in Robbinsdale Minnesota and I bought them all at once since I knew if any other Max fan had found them they would be GONE and I'd never see the like again stateside. Still listen to them. This stuff won't date easily.

I recognize Kim Mitchell and Terry Watkinson, but wonder about the drummer (McCracken perhaps??) The bass player is especially unclear.
