That gold GBA New York edition was purchased YEARS ago before collecting got hot and expensive. It was in a junk bucket at a garage sale without a back and I couldn't even test if it worked at the time. Everything at the garage sale was $5 or less. Years ago, it was common to find all sorts of gaming stuff CHEAP at garage sales & pawn shops....

Reggie’s story takes me back to my GBA experience. My big brother joined the army around that time in the early 2000s and got me the og GBA for doing good in school. He got one for himself too and whenever he’d come home he’d bring his old games for me and my other siblings.

does anyone remember final fantasy tactics, I would say that everyone that liked advance wars and final fantasy should pick up that game I can almost guarantee that you will sink a 100 plus hours into that game.

Amazing game, music was amazing, great gameplay. I only had 1 gripe with it and it was when you didn't have room for Mission Key Items and you'd be stuck until you came across the mission that'll give you the item again.
I only didn't like FFT Advance because I played the PS1 original which was one of my favorite games for a long time. So it's still a good game, I'm just always going to compare it to the (superior) game.

Metroid Zero Mission was the first metroid game I played and it was amazing for a GBA game. I need to go back and play Metroid Fusion on my GBA. Really enjoyed this video, I'll be sure to get some of these games!

Metroid Fusion - THE reason I bought the system back in the day. Amazing game. Zero Mission is solid too. So much nostalgia!

Some people think they make these videos to increase the value of old games. Raising prices to benefit themselves when they sell old gems.

I think my favorite title off of GBA was the Sims Bustin out. I remember buying it thinking it was just going to be a Sims game, and the fact that it was an RPG inspired by the sims blew me away.
It's funny cause I have never have been into RPG-Games and I totally enjoyed this one ! One the fewest I finished by the way. And actually, maybe they had the best idea by not trying to replicate a PC game which never worked on console. Really an underrated game, maybe because of that bad reputation.
Nightmare in Dreamland is actually a remake of Kirby's Adventure for the NES. Both are really great :)

I remember being blown away by the GBA also, I got the clamshell design. I only played like 3-4 games on it also, so seeing how great these other games look makes me wish I still had it.
Golden Sun music is insane, I can still hear it in my head right now.
I just wanted to thank you for mentioning the Golden Sun games and praising them. They're my most beloved games and I wish so much for a new one after the 3rd on the DS...
I recommend you get a DS Lite if you are short on time and money
It is guaranteed to have a backlight and can play GBA and DS games
It also has a better battery and better shoulder buttons.

Just checked my Lite, the thing is STILL in sleep mode after like, 5 or so years.
The battery life is legendary.
Good idea, the only problem I have with DS Lite is the dpad isn't as good as the dpad on the GBA
The buttons on the ds lite suck balls
So glad I modded my original GBA and is now backlit, still think it's the most comfortable to play on.

I'd like to recommend the Megaman Battle Network series; my favorite GBA games along with the Kirby, Advanced wars and Pokemon games.
battle network has some of the most game play out of all my GBA games besides pokemon. it's so good:D

I'm so happy I found Metal Jesus . My game collection isnt big but I have all 3 generation Xboxs with the original modded . 2 color gameboy , ps4 and ps2 . Also 3 retro shelf arcades . Love the channel

I have 2 Wiis, ps3, ps4, x360, mega drive, atari portable, dsixl midnight blue, original blue 3ds, new3dsxl samus edition, and a game boy color. I sold my gamecube, my gba sp, my ps1, ps2, master system and broke my ds lite.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I have put at least 300-400 hours into it. Amazing game even if you arent a Final Fantasy fan.

I got a refurbished GBA (neon red) and minish cap, link to the past and firered for 70 canadian (about 55 american)

Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland is not a remake of the original Gameboy title. It's actually remake of Kirby's Adventure on the NES.

Great review. I'm doing a gba sp build so getting some recommendations are great. I already have some Pokemon romhacks, supperstar sauga, and others so I'll be adding these ones to my collection in the feature.

I'd recommend Wario Land 4, Final Fantasy VI, Castlevania AoS, Golden Sun, and probably Yoshi's Land although the catalog is huge and it's hard to choose from loads of nice games.

Fire Emblem & Golden Sun are must haves.. Defender of the Crown and Wings are good Amiga ports.. Then of course the classic Mario games and Zelda 1-3.. There was also a good Punch Out clone called Boxing Fever..

The legacy of goku 1 and 2, plus buu's fury are all incredible and easily my favorite gba games next to zelda and mario.
Fun Fact:The Gamecube Link cable is also useful for letting you use your original gba as a controller while playing games with the gameboy player. You still need to have batteries in your gba to power it on but it gives you the most authentic gba expirence on a tv

The reason why you don’t like Pokémon is bc you both played the most basic gen in terms of story, designs, pretty much everything. Idc what people say about gen 1 honestly if it wasn’t the first one everyone would think it wasn’t that good, you guys have to play emerald or gold, silver, or crystal, for gba at least. Otherwise I recommend gen 5 or 4, gen 5 has one of my favorite stories in it, and gen 4(platinum, not diamond or pearl) is great, it has so many great features. I haven’t played thru gen 6, and gen 7 was ok but kinda easy, so I’d recommend gen 5, or Pokémon black or white.
He played gen 3 just the region was Kanto
Pokemon Platinum and Heartgold are my personal favorite Pokemon games. I didn't play gen 6 and I barely played gen 7. Gen 4 is probably my favorite.
you know what's my beef against pokemon games on GBA ?...
The animations. It's literally absent !
I can't play a game where the main characters won't even have an animation when attacking.

*Sims Bustin' Out*: Provides the instant immersion of being a teenager who climbs the social ladder with part-time jobs. Has a manageable neighborhood to progress in. Country atmosphere with a small town and open barn useable as a Player home.

Great vid as usual guys. I love taking original GBAs (which I love ergonomics of by far) and putting in an AGS-101 screen. Best of both worlds, when I do that, if buttons or casing is dirty or beat I'll put in new buttons and cool color shell (I have a see through glacier white and a bright green casing for the 2 I've kept). Shell/buttons/glass cover plus AGS 101 screen and adapter ribbon total can be around 50-70ish online depending, but trust me...well worth it when you get a free or beat up 10$ original GBA!

B Rammin the 001 is not bad. The 101 is definitely better but the 001 is way better than the original GBA,GBC and GB screen wise.
GBA is my favourite system, because at the time it was the first console I was able to regularly go out and buy games myself for, and after Pokemon made sure everybody had a GameBoy, all of my friends had a GBA.
Everyone should check these out:
Castlevania Aria of Sorrow - Best GBA game in the series by far, set the stage for Dawn of Sorrow on DS, which is considered better than Symphony of the Night by some.
Astro Boy Omega Factor - Treasure brawler/shooter, and it's way better than Gunstar Super Heroes if you ask me.
Dragonball Z Legacy of Goku 2 - Action RPG following the Android/Cell Anime, dialogue isn't too lengthy, and it's fun enough that I've beaten it a few times.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - GBA exclusive, not as good as the PS1 original, or Tactics Ogre, but still a great game.
Mario Kart Super Circuit - My favourite Mario Kart game. Better gameplay and visuals than the SNES original, and you can unlock all of the old tracks!
Mother 3 - I haven't played this yet, but I hear very good things, and it's an exclusive with nice visuals from Nintendo. Repro the shit out of that.
Drill Dozer - From the Pokemon developers, again I haven't played this, but it looks pretty cool.
