They mention it in the "No Pot to Pease in" episode where they make a TV show about the Bundy's, which then got canceled because according to Marcy, "Some woman from Michigan didn't like it... she also didn't like football, so that's gone too." LMAO... but yeah. That was another thing.
Heard a comedian describe the benefits of a gay relationship as how you have a like-minded partner, and once the sex part goes away as in any long term relationship you still have someone to watch the game with. There is wisdom here!
With most gay guys in real life, you don't even know they're gay until you see them with their boyfriend or husband, they don't go around flaunting their gayness just like nobody else goes around flaunting their straightness. All this ridiculous modern "woke" shit aside, this show depicted this more realistically than anything that's come out for decades

It's a disgrace I tells ya! All the crap on TV today when they could be making something like Married With Grandchildren. How hard would it be to get the old cast together?
Mmm, might not be as easy as you think. Amanda Bearse won't even speak to either Ed or David, and what would a new MWC show be without Al and Marcy going at it?
MGB surprisingly he was a good guy throughout the show. He even turned to faith without defiling his name or having a night out w a fan ruining that w many of the celebrities today
To me getting the cast would be the least of worry compared to getting the same style of comedy as far as the script goes. If this show were to come back the style in which we fell in love with would be gone. Could you imagine? half the episodes wouldn't last one day on air because the time are way to sensitive now. So honestly i think this great show is better left untouched
This scene perfectly highlights the difference between network TV shows of the 1980's and 1990's, versus today's TV shows. Back then a show like MWC wrote their scenes for laughs, today they write them for applause (to make a social commentary and get the audience to clap because they agree).
I used to watch this show as a kid from 1991 to the last episode in 97....and now in my 30's, I nearly pass out from laughing so damn hard. The entirety of the show was brilliant. Every actor on the show had incredible comedic timing and delivery. "Let the punishment fit the crime!" The writers were having so much fun and pushed the limits of television censorship at the time. I still love this show more than 20 years later. (And yep, that certainly is Dan Castallaneta aka Homer Simpson). Either The Simpsons followed this show, or this show followed The Simpsons on Fox back then.
"But he's getting your wife! Well, let the punishment fit the crime". 🤣 Al and the writers were so awesome. The look on Al's face when he said yes to "lemme get this straight, you work, you cook, AND you like sports" I seriously almost spit out my gulp of soda when I saw that look on his face, had to cover my mouth as a safety measure.
That's when people didn't get all butt hurt on jokes these actors made on set. Now forget about it..... that's why there are no more good shows. Thanks crybabies.
The reason so many straight women love gay men because they both love to shop and gossip. I'll never get over T & A, so I'm hooked for life, but few women share similar interests with men, companionship eventually evolves into doing what she wants to do, yawn. That's when men get bored and start looking around.
Take a minute to ponder this, ladies. Humor factor notwithstanding, it is really that simple to earn appreciation from a man. And the difference between this appreciation and the "appreciation" that White Knights or mangina's give is that THIS is genuine. Just food for thought.
Lemmy K. Is God so true fact, Amanda bearse is a lesbian and for married to another women. She invited the entire staff of married with children except o’neill and Faustino . When asked about it she replied “you would laugh or say something inappropriate when you saw me and my wife both wearing tuxes” in which O’Niell started laughing. She was right.
I loved that episode! You Al Bundy? Yes.Hold the applause Your husband is seeing my wife? Yes Your...husband? YES! Well, now we got 3 guys who won't touch my wife. What's the problem?
Ed O'Neill is a black belt in BJJ(Brazilian Jiujitsu). That takes about 8-14 years. Crazy skill level for any BJJ black belt. He said there were a lot of times he didn't feel like going but he would just say to himself "Just get through the door", and then have a great session. Very smart strategy and inspiring.
ohsnapiam59 Blazing Saddles is a classic. People don't understand context or irony anymore and because of it are turning into retards. If someone has to be pointed out to the joke, then you already know they have zero sense humor. All In The Family is before my time but another show I love to watch. People think he's a racist. He's a character stuck behind the times and that's makes it funny by the end of the episode.
I don't think anyone could deny Archer Bunker was a racist but he was also a person who was behind the times. And that last fact made the character a little vulnerable and gave the audience hope that once he caught up with the times, he could change. But not all racists are behind the times. Some people genuinely hate people of other races, period.
MrKing8050 Yep it bugs me that people try to put this show down, saying it's this, it's that, but holy cow it is so funny, something a lot of shows aren't these days. Going to have me a night of Married With Children on DVD, mixed in with some Motley Crue, Cinderella,Poison and Ratt videos, from a time when America was the best!
This is by far the greatest tv family sitcom of all time. It fairly depicts how a real family is, and not some Hollywood idolized version like the Cosby show, Family Ties, or the Brady Bunch.
+Masaki Hirata I recall an episode of king of queens once where the dog walker holly had to move in for a while due to her apartment rent going up and she couldn't afford it,so because carrie was busy all weekend on a project for her boss and had to work in her upstairs office, carrie became the upstairs wife doug went to for sex, holly became the downstairs wife who cooked for doug! so I figured peg could remain als' wife for sex, steve could be als wife who cooked for him.

They mention it in the "No Pot to Pease in" episode where they make a TV show about the Bundy's, which then got canceled because according to Marcy, "Some woman from Michigan didn't like it... she also didn't like football, so that's gone too." LMAO... but yeah. That was another thing.
Two of the wisest dads on TV together!
"Want some cake?"
"NUHMM!!!"
Gets me every time.
Heard a comedian describe the benefits of a gay relationship as how you have a like-minded partner, and once the sex part goes away as in any long term relationship you still have someone to watch the game with. There is wisdom here!
Al's name on the dog dish was killing me🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great episode!❤
He cooks, he cleans, he works, he like sports...if that’s the kinda guy he is I’ll givem a shot.
Me too!!
Lol there's a lot of guys like that😅
Gay or straight this is how every man ought to be! Certainly how I was raised
Damn, looks like I'm in trouble then 😮😂
One of the nice things is it showed that gay people look like regular people and can like sports and not be the "Gay" stereotypes
Well some sports like football are kinda gay
@@charlesdavis1080 Doug Stanhope wants to know your location.

Al yesss
That's how I know the people in the audience were not paid to just sit there and laugh. I love this show they should bring it back.
Lmao good ear. People were really invested in this show and its characters. Prisoners would write in and say that Al didn't deserve Peggy lol
Sounded like a male audience member to me
I heard that, too, lol.
"You work, you cook,..... AND you like sports??"
"YEAH."
".....I love you"
XDDD
Shit Al really should have kept him hes much of an upgrade from peg the guy cook makes good money and like sports wow.
Best example of integrating a gay couple without pandering or terrible story writing. And this was made in the early 1990’s.

Al Bundy with the voice actor that does Homer Simpson.

It's a disgrace I tells ya! All the crap on TV today when they could be making something like Married With Grandchildren. How hard would it be to get the old cast together?
MrDeadInMyPocket well, al has his own tv show, he's in that show modern family.
Mmm, might not be as easy as you think. Amanda Bearse won't even speak to either Ed or David, and what would a new MWC show be without Al and Marcy going at it?
I always thought Bud turned into one of two people: He became a pro wrestler and showed up in the WWF as Grandmaster Sexay, or Jim Rome

I like Al's laugh toward the end
David Hayward we all like when al laughs:) he deserves it with such a horrible life, wife and kids. xD
MrJJtheboss rightfully so
It's the joy of getting what he wants
This scene perfectly highlights the difference between network TV shows of the 1980's and 1990's, versus today's TV shows. Back then a show like MWC wrote their scenes for laughs, today they write them for applause (to make a social commentary and get the audience to clap because they agree).
I used to watch this show as a kid from 1991 to the last episode in 97....and now in my 30's, I nearly pass out from laughing so damn hard.
The entirety of the show was brilliant. Every actor on the show had incredible comedic timing and delivery. "Let the punishment fit the crime!"
The writers were having so much fun and pushed the limits of television censorship at the time. I still love this show more than 20 years later.
(And yep, that certainly is Dan Castallaneta aka Homer Simpson). Either The Simpsons followed this show, or this show followed The Simpsons on Fox back then.
This show inspired the Simpsons comedy.
i remember the simpsons had this show appear in that episode were homer was an astronaut
This used to be on late night TV here in the UK back in the 90s, one of my all time favourite comedy shows.
Man, this show was so ahead of its time. Al Bundy is the best tv dad/husband ever!
That's when people didn't get all butt hurt on jokes these actors made on set. Now forget about it..... that's why there are no more good shows. Thanks crybabies.
Sad that people today would find this offensive

I always loved how sweet Al treats this guy.
what u sitting all the way over there for come over here lmaooo let me get this str8 pardon the expression lolololol
Appreciation goes bothways home boy.
One of my favorite episodes. And the fact that Marcy D"Arcy(Rhoades) really despised Al in real life makes it that much better 😂😂😂
Lemmy K. Is God so true fact, Amanda bearse is a lesbian and for married to another women. She invited the entire staff of married with children except o’neill and Faustino . Very smart strategy and inspiring.
with the sensitivity in this country at an all time high can you just imagine the major out cry if an episode like this aired on modern TV
MrKing8050 I have to agree. I mean the PC has gone way overboard. Movies like the amazing Blazing Saddles could never have been made today.
ohsnapiam59 Blazing Saddles is a classic.

Peggy is such a bad wife her husband Al turned gay. This can actually be a joke line. It really shows how awful of a wife she was.
+Bob Mowreader didn't he try to get a ticket master wife as well to get free tickets to sports game
Derek White she was his stadium wife, then holly and carrie both got wise and all hell broke loose! funny episode, but what do you expect when leah remini, one of the funniest actresses alive, and kevin james,a professional comedian, star in the same show?
I wish those 2 would do either another tv series together,or star in a movie together.
So did Peg really cheat on Al? I don't remember that.
