Anyone else find Jordan's response extremely cringey?

It's extremely butthurt and reminds me of a 10 year old.
He seemed pretty calm and mature about it actually.
Sooty Sine I thought it was incredibly patronising: it assumes that the only possible reasons why anyone wouldn't agree with him are close mindedness, anger and envy. He never even try to address the real problems and faults in his reasoning and just tries to show off as the bigger man in order to look good with his audience while failing to understand the criticism issued toward him. And it is also overly melodramatic: that bit about painting Martymer as someone who wants to drag him "to his grave"... aw, boo hoo, someone calls me out on my bullshit that I never try to back up, they must be out for my blood!
to add onto Broderick's post, I'd say that the heavily emotional approach he's taking is pretty manipulative to his audience, whether he's aware of it or not. I see this a lot of internet forums, people are pretty easy to convince on behaviour alone through highly emotional appeals if they're not actively thinking critically.
Note how Jordan does not acknowledge any of the claims presented outside of one of them (which I agree that Martymer misunderstood - but what I think Jordan is trying to claim is still obviously false). Otherwise, his video appeals to emotion - trying to be the better person, afraid of confrontation, focusing on love and all that. Martymer however has pointed out in his videos that at best SS is very misinformed and at worst promotes dangerous advice. These are far more important issues than just "trying to be the better man".

Yes it sounds great, but unfortunately is it also wary wrong. It's fine between equal or friends but as soon one has more power then the other, it can ruin all. Imagine a student who, maybe by accident, arrives at a theory that sounds stupid but never the less are true. Like adult Einstein who says that space and time is the same. If a teacher ruthless had criticized a child Einstein, this child may feel stupid, maybe even stop being interested because he was so stupid believing such nonsense and starts working at a farm instead. :-)

Every constructive criticism is... yes "constructive" but ruthless destructive criticism is, yes destructive in many cases. Especially if the person who criticize have some power over you, a teacher that keeps telling the 9 yo student that he is good for nothing, a boss who constantly tells you that your work is below expected and so on.

Yep, the "passive-aggressive" is strong in Jordan. That's the first thing that hit me, even in fragments of his video.
For all the love and positvity he's supposedly spreading and 'honesty' with which he's doing so, the way he edits his videos suggests that he DOES know how to manipulate the audience in a pretty dishonest way.

It seemed that Jordan was honestly offended, but then repressed his feelings and chose to create a passive aggressive video. This was most likely done to retain the flowers, rainbows and sunshine image that he projects onto his fanbase. So it was pretty much a diss, but in the "peaceful" new age style.

I hate when people get mad that their claims are challenged. In science, claims are challenged all the time, even ones that have supportive evidence. Without consistent challenging of claims, science would not move forward. To challenge a claim is not to insult a claim
To challenge a claim, to truly challenge a claim, is actually a fairly decent honor in scientific circles. 1.) the scientific community paid attention to your claim, and 2.) they took enough time to spot a hidden issue with the claim to help improve said claim, before someone less scientifically literate used it to attack science.

I get the impression that when he says 'you really made me think' he actually means 'you prompted me to invent more totally bogus nonsense to fill the gaps'. I still to this day watch Spirit Science to get inspiration for religions in fantasy settings I write. Whoever wrote this garbage definitely did their research, I got to hand it to them. They artfully combine aspects of Hinduism, Buddhism, ancient Middle Eastern occult, eastern and western alchemical traditions, Austronesian ritual, and a smathering of details from so much more. If they weren't claiming to be factual I'd nominate them for an award.

Why do your own research, and get a flavor of myths when you can have it all summed up by the likes of Spirit Science.
Then again, Spirit Science is the worse place to get these sort of ideas.

Seems to me there's a fundamental difference in methodology between Jordan and Martymer, not just physics models. The former is trying to make every mythology, pseudo-science and scientific model true, the latter is trying to eliminate useless models. Jordan gave a very long winded response that could have been summed up in 4 words. "I am a coward."
If Jordan is being completely honest, rather than being either a scam-artist who's doing it for the fame and money, or some kind of troll, but rather he truly and honestly believes everything he says, then I kind of feel sorry for him.
He's clearly a very smart and talented person, but he has been deluded and/or is deluding himself into using his intelligence in a completely useless (if not even destructive) wild goose chase.
(There's also the possibility that he's a bit of both: He may at some level believe in what he's saying, but he has also noticed his own talent and how he can use it to earn fame and money from people, and he is using that talent while semi-consciously silencing his own doubts about whether that's actually a moral thing to do. He might be convincing himself that there's nothing wrong with it, or doesn't really care if what he believes is actually true, as long as it brings him fame and money.)
Also, I don't know if he's doing it deliberately or inadvertently (I'm not completely opposed to the idea that he _is_ actually doing it inadvertently), but he's extremely good at being condescending and patronizing while still giving the impression (at least to his followers) that he's being kind, understanding and reasonable. He is cleverly able to ridicule and even demonize Martymer without it being obvious. This has two positive effects for his position: His followers will both get an appreciation for his intelligence, kindness and understanding, and at the same time condescension and hatred of Martymer in particular and critics in general.

The subject, Jordan, seems to be trying to eliminate conflict by trying to create an ideology that incorporates and validates everything: science, pseudoscience, and religion. I would like to thank you for making these videos. Whenever I ran along Spirit Science I chose to believe it. This was due to a part of my life where I was seeking any answer that would help me get out of the suicidal depression I was in due to real life problems. I was always iffy on how much I did want to believe him, but I chose to for the dangerous reasons you have pointed out. I didn't want to get actual help for the depression I was in.
Thanks to you presenting your information in a way that made sense and was easy to fact check and was entertaining enough to sit through (you're fucking hilarious) I managed to make it out of that period of my life. I am now receiving proper treatment, and getting my life back onto the right road. Since you got me to open my eyes a bit I have successfully landed a job making a lot more money then I ever could have hoped for as a programmer.

I want to say this video actually has had a bit of a personal impact on me. Call it minor, but I really had a poor idea of what a dimension was, and somewhat as well regarding the exact nature of energy. (I only had the 'it is what makes things do work') This has cleared up a drastic misunderstanding I've had in regards to the usage of those two terms and their related facets, of science, that I have normally been 'uhhmm... o_o; k. You... you go say that."
Clearing up these misunderstandings really helps me get the gist of the world I live in, because even though I'm an atheist, I am firm on spiritual belief, so misunderstandings like that easily can make me go a little astray.

I'm glad people are beginning to realize just how much manipulation of truth exists in the "Spirit Science" doctrine. I remember when the 50-60 minute long movie was gaining notice and how, almost immediately, commented on its wild inaccuracy and was met with this stubborn "no argument necessary" principle, which at first is portrayed as Gandhi-like, but is actually abusive when you are actually lying to further your own agenda at the expense of others.
I would hope that most people would know that spirit science is wrong in almost all of its claims and people would only watch it for entertainment purposes as it makes some pretty outlandish and incoherent claims, the most outrageous of which is the concept that Martians came to Earth via portals formed with the so-called "Pyramids of Cydonia" by forming some form of sacred geometry, an easy claim to disprove to say the very least. Moreover these Martians, who supposedly evolved independently of humans were able to breed with humans and imposed "evil left-brained science and technology", which according to spirit science equates to closed-mindedness and argumentative nature. The doctrine also makes reference to Atlantis and Lemuria, incorporates new-age mysticism, ancient religions, the Illuminati as well as the hysterical reports of psychic children in China and India.
I do think "Spirit Science" is somehow trying to trick people into buying crystals and artifacts as a business venture, as religion is probably the best way to make sure your clientele keep coming back. However it is also important to consider that its founders may truly believe it to some extent. If Mainstream Religion is on the decline, new-age and spirituality will become more frequent labels.

Its not that Ii am against selling things, I myself wanted to sell science kits to people online, kits with graphene, lasers, rare-earth magnets, pieces of high tc superconductor ceramic, ect; things which are normally only seen in a lab so teachers and parents can show young people.
However the wave of shit peddled by people online has really made me very disillusioned to make any money online, in that people are beginning to be unable to tell the difference between legitimate information and misinformation simply because of the positive feedback they experience from the profit motive in making exaggerated claims and selling things on the basis of such claims.
With things like Spirit Science, Infowars and conspiracy/mysticism in general they feel that their human and economic capital reflects the truth of their claims, when in reality it is the mirror image; people buy their products simply because their value is reinforced by misinformation.
It is very hard to point this out to people, as they get sucked in, both in human and economic terms.
In a sense these people are the unsinkable lame ducks in our society, and they really do get in the way of the truth about what is actually happening around us for the sake of gaining popularity and making some money and make legitimate endeavors somehow banal and not worth paying attention to in detail.

If you claim that something can heal a chemical mental disorder, but that something doesnt really do it, then thats being dishonest and is the core definition of a scam, ESPECIALLY when there have been college experiments on this topic that shows crystals dont really heal anything.
