Im 3 tacos away from being fluent in Spanish...
A few years ago I rode my #DR650 down from Seattle to San Pancho...I ended up staying in #LodeMarcos only because it was a cheaper alternative to San Pancho...Now as people flood the area and #Mexico real estate becomes more and more expensive Lo de Marcos remains a small town that keeps its identity. Things like the sanctuary and El Paraiso and other community organizations make this small town a place where a traveler can have a unique experience AND the community accepts you with open arms.
Only a short bus ride from Puerto Vallarta, or a long bus ride from Mexico City...this is the perfect location for you home or a short vacation...this is real mexico with so many amazing people.
Here are a few orgs I've supported which I think help the community grow

In Lo de Marcos you may see vehicles on the beach such as 4 wheelers, trucks, and dirt bikes. Even if you see locals riding on the beach everyone should know that turtles lay eggs on the beach and driving/riding on the beach could crush the eggs. Please resist the temptation to drive/ride on the beach.
I like your adventurous spirit .A lot of people are afraid to venture off the beaten path and go to the more touristy and expensive places.Good on you and keep on ridin'.
tourism seeks to remove discomfort and therefore often removes much of humanity that binds us. :) you will always meet the most amazing people when you set out to solve your "problems" in a foreign land.
Nice video
Glad to have found your video
Dude dope video bro I own property in el monteon right down the road I will be spending a lot more time down that way
very cool! did u see the video I made at their dancing horse competition?
One day I would love to meet you in Mexico and have you show me around. Great stuff you live a admirable life!
It would be my great pleasure to show you around...I love MEXICO!
That beach looks insane, heaven.
One of my fave in the world!! Calm, pretty much unknown, amazing sand, great people...doesnt get much better.
Thank you for sharing this video my wife and I we are thinking about going too lo the Marcos and checking this place out
please check out the links in the description below....so many great people there. BTW, I get nothing from any of this, LDM is just a safe place I think everyone would really enjoy. Its Authentic.
liked the tour. am thinking of moving to that area. so helpful
Great people in LDM. In a way Im sad to see it changing so fast...on the other hand those people Ive come to be close with will see a prosperous future. The community is certainly a special one.
Great video of a great place! I spent 4 days there this past March and loved it. The food and people are great. Then throw in the beach and you have a winning combination thats hard to beat! Thanks for the walk back through memory lane. I traveled there on my V-strom from South Carolina.
Thanks for the comment! I really love this little town...I left today actually...sad panda :(
Can't blame you. I was there during Semana Santa and it was just so much fun. Looking forward to taking my wife there in a couple of years.
It is a great town. I have stayed there many times and there are so many nice people there. The hole in the wall restaurants have great food and are very reasonable.
Great place I also love in La Pineta just up the road as it is budget friendly.
yeah, La Penita is the place I would commonly go to when I needed anything...
Great video dude! Love those towns. I live in Chicago and for me the pacific has the best places in Mexico ! 👍🏻
So true!!
Wow.... wasn't expecting the shout out...haha.. pretty cool...your welcome man.. Thats a great looking little beach town. Can't wait to try a nice fresh salad @ El Paraiso one day :)
I like that most of the topes have a cut out in the middle of the road as well.
Highly recommend this town!
Zshark is the man, I miss seeing his adventures.

@@ZSharkPH VW915 MR. Zshark good to know you well. Take care.
Great video! I know some people that grew up in Aticama Nayarit that showed me pics and it looks like a beautiful area and this makes me want to ride my DR650 through the snow in minnesota all the way there. I could live in that funny colored apartment and not complain at all.
I rode down from Seattle...its actually a great ride...so much to enjoy on the way south. I really love that town and want it to remain non touristy forever and...I made the video and actually maybe I shouldn't post it...but then i realized no one would actually see it, lol!
Home sweet home !!! Nice video!! Nice town m beach !!
What a view
Great Video of one of my favorite places! Happy trails and stay safe, from a fellow biker on Vancouver Island ! ( Rd 400 and FJR 1300)
Im actually in LDM...just arrived TODAY!! Love this place! Ride safe out there!
My wife and I are arriving Feb. 1st for 2 weeks at Bungalows Don Jose. Unfortunately no bikes with us , another couple of months and we will be able to ride at home though. If you are still there we will likely see you. Enjoy!
@@mikewolter6323 ill be here!
It breaks my heart to see all those street dogs -- who is feeding them?
most of the dogs have homes and get fed regularly...they just roam during the day, they are friendly. There is a local vet who works with a community animal rescue to spay and neuter so the population stays manageable.
Yes Good one. And you will leave there? I am coming mid February to find a cheap rental, or even a lot. Want to put a geodome on it, a little dream of mine. I’m driving , 92 Chevy comfort from Chapala area. Does it have to be toll roads? And I am old, retired volunteer teach English. Do you think the kids want it there? Do they like school? I understand no one wants more foreigners coming around but I am one of those. Can I contact you?

Thanks so much dude...this area is really going to change in the future...I'm stoked I'll have this moment in time! Ride to MX and enjoy some summer in your winter!! just a hop skip and a jump ;)
This is my home town and to be honest I would hate to see this place turn into Sayulita! It has grown a lot and I don’t see it stoping anytime soon. My grandparents were a few of the first families to settle there back in the 60’s . The town really hates it when visitors don’t respect and trash our beach. We care for the turtles so please no motorbikes on the beach. The Xplore company is great if you are interested in snorkeling and outdoor adventure. They are located next to Endless Summer. My parents rent out their homes (bungalos) for a very fair price . They are located in 10 zapata st.
I pinned a comment to ask for people to not drive/ride on the beach due to the turtles. I'm afraid I've seen many locals riding 4 wheelers and side by sides (as seen in the video) on the beach as well. :( I think Lo de Marcos will continue to have its own identity and wont end up like Sayulita...at least that is my hope. The truth is, its changing very fast...even in the last few years I've been visiting its exploded in size and tourism.
Hey, first time in your channel. I like it. Nice!!!!
Also, how affordable is that little restaurant?
Thank you for any info.
Hey! Thanks for the kind message...which restaurant? The Endless Summer Bar? If so...ver affordable...20 peso draft beer and great meals under 100 peso! Big side of fries or other great apps for 40-80 pesos.
@@perpetualmoto Hey thanks for taking the time to reply. Hope your channel starts growing. I'll be looking forward to more videos from you. A life of travel is the new wealthy. I admire anyone who has the guts to take life on like that.
Enjoy yourself.
Why is Noone on the beach, is current to strong...are there drops as you go in the ocean...anyone here still live there. Or, how can I reach you to ask more questions. Thanks much
It was just early in the morning when I filmed this. The location is highly sought after...beach and ocean are spectacular. Ask away.
Hello good sir, Did you import your 650, purchase it in MX or are you traveling on a tourist visa and have to cross a border w the bike every 6 months?
I brought this bike from the USA and obtained a 6 month visa...same in Guatemala (only a 3 month visa) and so on south...
Hey. Good vídeo. how much per liter?
Only what ur willing to spend. Beyond that, ur walking.
@@perpetualmoto how many km with a full tank?
@@gerardoarjona6732 400 miles 6.6 gallons
Did you say that they have RV parks? i want to move to Mexico and bring my old Jeep and a very small travel trailer to live in. This is a fantastic video! I just subscribed! I'm 62 and was looking at Lake Chapala, BUT...the housing market is very expensive there. Are there many older expats living in Lo de Marcos...(on low incomes)? It looks beautiful...I LOVE all the colors and lush greenery!
lots of expats in their 50-60s + living in LDM and surrounding pueblitos. Great community.
I'm riding a 650 versys, ok , or should I buy a klr?
Any bike is an Adventure bike...I rode a 350 Endfield cruiser to Leh, Ladakah on road tires. Im sure you will be able to cover some serious ground with your 650.
Hi Brad 😊 this is my first time on your channel and I absolutely loved it!! Very detailed & good personality! I have so many questions about this town and having trouble finding someone who knows it. Anyway you can email me please? Thank you!
Oh I see your email address lol. Emailing you now! 😊
Check all the links in the description...lots of great locals waiting to help!! Im not there so...Im not much help right now.
How long do you spend in each country you visit?
Depends on how long the visa allows...sometimes a month sometimes a few.
Get a smaller rear sprocket for crawling a few teeth make a difference
Thats something I was just thinking about...I was getting the bike ready to head back to LDM and I bought a 14 tooth front sprocket for this exact reason. Once I arrive I'll put the smaller sprocket on to help with all the slow traffic situations.
BRAD GET BACK TO ME PLEASE ON THIS QUAINT PLACE WILL YOU---WOULD LOVE TO RETIRE THERE CAN YOU HELP ME GET STARTED I HAVE 2,000 A MONTH RETIREMENT 66 YEARS OLD
Check out the description, lots of info there. Also check out the Terramar website if you want to build/buy a home. cheers!
Why did the chicken cross the road seems like a pretty relevant question there . = /
HAHAHAHA so true...everyday!!!
I hear a rooster crowing on nearly every video about Mexico!
How did you get the bike? Wha’ts the company and the pricing?
I bought the bike used in the states...not sure what you mean about the company and pricing...
BRAD I WONDER WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN DOWN THERE WHEN THE MARKET COLLAPSES AND WE GO BACK TO NO MONEY HERE IN AMERICAN AND THE WORLD
Not smart riding on the beach
