- We continue our journey along the Ruta de las Flores here in El Salvador. We arrive in Ahuachapan and spend a day visiting the town of Ataco and enjoy some great coffee and local street food, as we continue exploring El Salvador.
The Ruta de las Flores is a picturesque route, about 20 miles long, in the coffee growing region of El Salvador. The route takes you though lovely villages and is a must if you come to El Salvador.
We spent a few weeks travelling around various parts of El Salvador and if you have heard El Salvador is dangerous and not safe, then from our perspective as tourists we had a fabulous time. El Salvador is full of wonderful kind people who made us feel very welcome and at no point did we feel unsafe.

In case you don't know us - let us introduce ourselves - we are Chris (48) & Marianne (51). We are a married travel couple. We recently quit our jobs and sold our belongings to travel full time.
After more than 22 years of marriage we are still best friends
The aim is we are going to step foot in every country in the world before we die - or die trying !. We are currently also planning an epic around the world road trip. So stayed tuned for more clips as we TREAD the Globe in either Trudy the TREAD camper van or armed with our backpacks!

Ataco is great and so is this video. You tried different foods there. I like "quesadillas" but I don't like "marquesote" that much. I noticed your chair got broken, but I hope you didn't get hurt at all. Thank you for sharing your experience in Ataco.

Wow I'm impressed by Ataco, it looks really nice. That quesadilla looks delicious, & the marquesote too, you just need an orchata to wash it down 😁.. & you guys look comfortable moving around there by yourselves now, that's great. Nice video amigos. 👍

Hello, I enjoy your videos, they always put a smile on my face, Thank You, a couple of years ago I visited Hotel Miraflores, Playa Las Flores close to Playa El Cuco and Lago de Coatepeque by El Congo if You guys are spending more time in El Salvador I recommend visiting those places, Best !!!

Ataco was one of my favourite places to go in El Salvador and hope to go back again when we drive through ...
