Hi, Globetrotter here, I commented on one of your other videos regarding returning to the UK or wait it out in Turkey. I'm currently stuck in lockdown in El Tunco, El Salvador, waiting out this thing... It's day 72 now. I started in Mexico and the plan was to continue down through all the countries to Panama. I was lucky enough to have 12 wonderful days in El Salvador before the lockdown. My first city was Santa Ana, and I loved it. I did a lot of daytrips and stayed longer than first planned. Stayed atCasa Vieja Guesthouse, and after 5 months in Mexico and Guatemala, to my surprise, the staff spoke perfect English. They were so incredibly switched on, always ready to give detailed and accurate info regarding DYO daytrips, which is my way of doing things.Continued to the 'DO NOT GO' city, San Salvador, and kept walking around wondering where the dangerous bits were. People were so friendly and helpful. I loved it. Continued on to El Tunco, which was already pretty much closed down, but had a couple of days walking along the entire beach to Zunzal and La Libertad before the strict lockdown started. That being said, if it first is a lockdown, this was certainly better than being in a 'concrete box' room in Europe. Staying in a lovely little hotel with 2 floors of outdoor space including a small pool, Santorini village. Unfortunately tropical storm Amanda happened, followed by tropical storm Cristobal, but eventually the the rain stopped and the sun came out today. People are busy recovering from the flood. El Salvador is just so underrated. It's a MUST for anybody travelling in Central America. People are so friendly and welcoming. So sad I never got a chance to see all the rest, the country has to offer.....hoping they can soon reopen a few 'social distancing sunset bars' along the beach.
It really is such a gem - we are sending our prayers to the people of ES and so happy you got to see some of it - I know we will all be back to visit some more and our thoughts and wishes are with all the people who are struggling right now xx 🙏💜🌺 Thank you for your message xx
Love El Salvador, lived there for almost 1 1/2 yrs doing volunteer work, only returned to Canada due to Covid. Friendly people for sure! In fact we due La Route de las Flores after I watched your video!

Thank you for posting some positive news. It is really welcome in the midst of all the troubles the world is going through right now. My wife and I own the Hostal Cumbres del Volcán in San Salvador. We have been seriously hurt by the Covid lockdown. But thankfully we have been able to maintain our staff, and we have busied ourselves painting, cleaning and repairing everything. So we are all ready and anticipating the re-opening on June 15th. Bienvenido a El Salvador.

Now I live in USA, but love to visit at least once a year and have so much good time every time I visit. Naw. Not at all. El salvador is actually going through a positive metamorphosis thanks to President bukele. We have the best hospital in all of Latin America. Bukele has put all criminals in prison already. He has also become very famous. So no. El salvador is doing good right now. All government employees have gotten a raise.

As far as i know you do not require a visa...once here you Will need a sun filter..bottled water Is a must..avoid visiting Places of burglar And crime..the current money Is the US dollar.bring short trousers or bathing suit for the beach...everything Is near here..beaches...villages..volcanoes...be very welcome And enjoy...by the way..rain season goes from may to october..welcome again...

Naw. Not at all. El salvador is actually going through a positive metamorphosis thanks to President bukele. We have the best hospital in all of Latin America. Bukele has put all criminals in prison already. He has also become very famous. So no. El salvador is doing good right now. All government employees have gotten a raise.

Hey what do i need if i went to visit El Salvador. I'm currently in England.
As far as i know you do not require a visa...once here you Will need a sun filter..bottled water Is a must..avoid visiting Places of burglar And crime..the current money Is the US dollar.bring short trousers or bathing suit for the beach...everything Is near here..beaches...villages..volcanoes...be very welcome And enjoy...by the way..rain season goes from may to october..welcome again...
As UK citizens we did not need a visa - but always check the foreign office before you go - and as Cirugia de Mano says - you will be welcome !! it is such an amazing country xx best wishes 💕🙏💐
We went 2 years ago, paid $10 for each non salvadorean. Have an Australian passport.
Now if you want go El Salvador you only need your negative COVID-19 pruf teke in the las 24 Hr ... and I f you no need visa, maybe you only need your passport....
